I Know Who Holds TomorrowPosted Friday, June 29, 2012, at 4:24 AM
I thought that the tree centered the entire vista but didn't block the view. Nothing special about it. It just caught my eye.
Tonight, David and I watched a recording of the White Family singing the song that we had chosen for our wedding nearly 22 years ago. With permission, I am going write out the lyrics; Title: I Know Who Holds Tomorrow I don't know about tomorrow; I just live from Day to Day I don't borrow from the sunshine For its skies may turn to grey. I don't worry o'er the future, For I know What Jesus Said. And Today I'll Walk beside Him, For He knows what is ahead. Chorus: Many things about tomorrow I don't seem to Understand But I know who holds tomorrow And I know Who holds my hand. Every Step is getting brighter As the Golden Stairs I climb; Every Burden's getting lighter, Every Cloud is silver-lined. There the sun is always shining, There no tear will dry the eye; At the ending of the Rainbow Where the Mountains touch the sky. Chorus I don't know about tomorrow; It may bring me poverty. But the One who Feeds the sparrow, Is the One who stands by me. And the path that is my portion May be through the flame or flood; But His Presences goes before me And I'm covered in His Blood. Chorus On Sunday, I will be turning 53. I don't feel 53. I think back on my birthdays and I have had good ones and bad ones. This year, I am just thankful to be living. I believe that we as a nation are like one big puzzle. Some of us fit on the edge and support the inside pieces. No picture is complete without all of the puzzle pieces being placed where they belong. When one piece comes up missing, it spoils the entire enterprise and a person feels cheated somehow. Or, if a particular portion of the puzzle stumps us; we are humbled by a five year old picking out the correct piece on the first try. I love puzzles, but I am not a natural. I can't take a piece and automatically place it where it belongs. No, I have to make several attempts to just get one piece to fit. In the end, it comes down to having a "fresh" eye take a look at it and put things back into perspective before I can finish a puzzle. Our God is an Awesome God. Just like the North Star in the Sky; we can never be lost for long if we recognize Who Holds Tomorrow and Who Holds Our Hand. Walking the Fence Line ![]() - Archives - Blog RSS feed - Comments RSS feed - Send email to Bonnie Bird - Login Fixing fence is the one of the hardest jobs on a ranch. I no longer live on a ranch, but I do know what hard work is. Fences are everyone's concern, but nowadays, the "hole" is always your neighbor's side not your own. It used to be that you would respect your neighbor and mend the fence together. If their cows got in your field, a simple phone call resolved the problem. You might even saddle up your own horse and help them gather them up. We need more people who are willing to roll their sleeves up and fix the fence regardless of who your neighbor is.
There are people in this country who need to be reminded that a fence is like the way you should conduct your life. Your posts should be straight and neat. The wire needs to be stretched tight and your gate might be closed, but can still be easily opened. And most of all, we can all saddle
up together and ride the range, it won't matter if you have an Appaloosa, Quarter Horse or Thoroughbred. The cows still have to be gathered, fences have to be fixed, and the range is a wide open space of opportunity for us all.
