A New Pair of ShoesPosted Friday, April 6, 2012, at 6:32 PM
Two moths that have just come out of their cocoons.
Our lives are not dictated to the number of shoes that we possess, but how they fit our lifestyle and comfort level. Some people seem to never find an end to their quest for the ultimate "look" in their shoe selection. Others dedicate rooms to their shoes. And still others favor a shabby pair of slippers or sneakers. A New Pair of Shoes given to us by Him; serve to keep our feet firmly planted on the pathway to His Kingdom and ultimately lead us back to His Welcoming Arms. Because of His Willingness to give All, we have Eternal Life. I think about Mother Theresa and her humbly shod feet. Dedicated to a life of service, her feet were like road maps to the places that she had been and a witness to the humility in her heart. Many of us know someone who would not hesitate to give their best boots to someone in need. Or those who put off buying a new pair of shoes so that their children will have a new coat for winter or food on the table. People whose hearts have been changed by His all-encompassing love never hesitate to pay it forward. They find courage in times of great peril and compassion when their brother has fallen down. They are willing let their new hearts lead them to places that they had never gone before. Tenderly, Jesus washed His Disciples feet. He gave them direction for the work ahead. It was an unexpected gesture that reflected just how humble He was and the example that He set. On this Easter/Resurrection Day Weekend; We have the Promise of New Beginnings. We are reminded of the ultimate sacrifice that was given by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has provided us with a new heart and a practical pair of shoes to complete our Life's Journey. Have a joyful and safe weekend everyone. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |
Walking the Fence Line ![]() - Archives - Blog RSS feed - Comments RSS feed - Send email to Bonnie Bird - Login Fixing fence is the one of the hardest jobs on a ranch. I no longer live on a ranch, but I do know what hard work is. Fences are everyone's concern, but nowadays, the "hole" is always your neighbor's side not your own. It used to be that you would respect your neighbor and mend the fence together. If their cows got in your field, a simple phone call resolved the problem. You might even saddle up your own horse and help them gather them up. We need more people who are willing to roll their sleeves up and fix the fence regardless of who your neighbor is.
There are people in this country who need to be reminded that a fence is like the way you should conduct your life. Your posts should be straight and neat. The wire needs to be stretched tight and your gate might be closed, but can still be easily opened. And most of all, we can all saddle
up together and ride the range, it won't matter if you have an Appaloosa, Quarter Horse or Thoroughbred. The cows still have to be gathered, fences have to be fixed, and the range is a wide open space of opportunity for us all.
