Anyone who's ever been in combat, knows that it's one thing to take a hill. Holding ON to it though........ can be a "horse of a different color", because now the "Other guy" has time to re-group, assess the situation and plan the "element of surprise."
The "lame-stream media".....who's job since the beginning of time, has been to support the Democratic party, is already coming up with these "polls", showing how Obama is going to be "unbeatable" because the economy is now "magically getting better"....and of course, all of the infighting between the GOP candidates.
That's good. Keep thinking that. Like they say......."polls are only good from cross-country skiers and strippers." The only poll that actually MEANS anything is the one on election day.
As I wrote in a recent blog, this is NOT 2008. There will NOT be a division in the GOP as there was with McCain. Any Democrat who is counting on that, is in for a very rude surprise.
Sure, there's dissention NOW because we still have guys running against each other....but the animosity toward this government is so great, that this party WILL unite, behind whichever dork wins the nomination. You can take THAT to the bank!
There will be no "conservative statements" made against any "RINO'S" this time. Our 2012 nominee will have the full support of this party.....a measure that McCain never had. Those of us who CAN'T STAND Mitt or Rick.........ain't gonna matter this time.........because THIS administration has done all the damage its going to do. Nobody's sitting home on their butts this cycle.
Let's talk "combat" now for a minute........Barack Obama "took a hill" in 2008 that was being VACATED, and he had a lot more artillery support and troop strength than the guys trying to take that same "hill" from the other side.
But this is 2012..........Obama and his "army" have been up there for over 3 years, but rather than build anything up, they've kicked back and let the fortifications deteriorate, so when THEY get "hit", they're gonna have to try to defend that hill with weapons they don't have.......against a WELL-EQUIPPED and ADEQUATELY MANNED force!
In "civilian terms".......they're all gonna have to run on a record they don't HAVE. And they'll be hit HARD on it.
In 2008, the "community organizer" was free to attack the Bush administration AT WILL, meeting limited opposition from a RINO without full support. It was a "waltz across the ballroom."
But now, as the President....it is HIS turn to be the "target". It is HE who has to DEFEND......and somehow explain to the voters, how "what he inherited" has been run up to SIXTEEN in just 3 years (and will probably be SEVENTEEN by election time, if not more.
Then will come the debates.......where NO TELEPROMPTER can "2nd-guess" what the opponent will "counter" with....or attack with.....
Don't let the Santorum-Romney feud give you false hope..........in 2008, it got VERY nasty between Barack & Hillary as well.. As expected, the Dems gave their full support to the winner.
Across the aisle, it was certainly no secret that John McCain was DESPISED by the conservative base, and would have to go WITHOUT that support-----(which I STRONGLY suspect is why he chose Sarah to run with him). And she DID pull some of us on the ticket.....but nowhere near enough.
Romney and Santorum are much better choices than McCain....and while they are NOT representative of our entire platform....they ARE gonna be good enough to be backed by even those of us who don't like either of them.
I believe the all-important "swing voters" are going to be with us as well. I don't think they're going to be fooled TWICE.
Obama has been selectively "carried" by the press, since the day he took office.....is never asked the tough questions. When he actually has to TAKE SOMEBODY ON in debate, and the record HE NOW HAS starts getting hammered.........we'll see how well he does, under fire..........when he DOESN'T know "ahead of time" what he might be asked.
He looks pretty good right now, running all over the country (instead of RUNNING the country)......and CNN, MSNBC and the rest of them are doing their best to keep morale up at any cost.............but even if the economy DOES rise a few points (as it goes up & down occasionally)..........there are still the MANDATES, the BORDERS, and a matter 16 to 17 TRILLION now, where it took Bush (and a war) EIGHT FULL YEARS to bring it to 7-------OBAMA's doubled that in just THREE.
(I'm really anxious to watch the debates, and see if he starts on that "what we inherited" business again!)
Anyway.......if you're on the "left", I wouldn't be planning any "celebration parties" just yet...............because later on this year, Obama WILL have to "answer the tough questions" that his teleprompter will NOT be "pre-programmed for."
Additionally, we are VERY close to taking the Senate back.........if we just did THAT....and kept that House of "demons".........it really wouldn't MATTER all that much if Obama DID win it again.
Can you say......."lame duck?"
The whole idea is to stop the SOCIALIST AGENDA, the waste & fraud..... start paying down the debt, and start following our Constitution again.
We need to remember once again WHO WE ARE...........and the Government needs some SERIOUS REMINDING of who THEY work for!
This is a very angry populace out here today. They are sick of being lied to, and it ain't gonna be the "cakewalk" some of you people out there THINK it's going to be.

I think the cheerleaders and Obama zombies are so thrilled with the GOP attacking each other that they feel Obama will just waltz right in.....nothing could be further from the truth.
Once the GOP candidate has been decided, there will be no more easy days and nights for Obama. The GOP certainly has all the ammo it needs to fire at him. From the trillions he's spent over the last 3 years, to TRUE unemployment (not bogus trumped up numbers thrown out to the kool-aid drinkers), to the rising price of gas, to the failed foreign policies.....ALL of these are going to come back on Obama, and deservedly so.
Another thing looming is the Supreme Court decision on Obamacare. It's due out just a few months before the election and the decision on that, alone, could cost Obama dearly. It is my opinion that, no matter how the Supreme Court decides this, it goes against Obama. If they decide against it, the GOP can rightfully point out how Obama is trampling our Constitution, a document he's already on record saying "it gets in his way". If the Supreme Court finds in favor of Obamacare, then Obama and the courts have forced the American people to take on something the majority of us do not want. Either way, it's a lose/lose for Obama, and hopefully a win for America.

Pain at the pump will most definitely translate to pain in the polls for Obama. Iran's stopped shipping to Britain and France, Saudi has just opted to scale down its oil production, and our "fearless leader" put the old kybosh on the Keystone pipeline.
I'll have to do some research, but I don't think any president has ever been re-elected with 8% unemployment and soaring prices at the pump. You can also throw in escalating food prices, and you've got a perfect storm, just like when Obama was elected.

And as far as I know, the government cannot spend its way into a recession.

I have trust in those that man the polling places in Mountain Home and through out Idaho.
I believe that all across the states those that are picked to work at polling places and to count the votes are people who are actively involved in their communities and are loyal and trusting people, otherwise they wouldn't be counting votes.

Idaho Al........the President CANNOT appoint a Supreme Court Judge......he can only "nominate"......he/she STILL has to pass >muster and be approved by the congress......so if we have BOTH HOUSES.
Also......if we have both houses, there'll be no more of this "end run business". He would NOT get the "free pass' he'sbeen used to.
It would be BEST of course if we got rid of both HIM AND his corrupt associates back there.......but if the best that comes of this, is taking back the Senate and keeping the House, we can at least keep any FURTHER damage down to a minimum.

I do have an Idaho Photo ID. I went around Mountain Home with out one for many many years. Until Mountain Home grew and new employee's in the stores and banks and etc didn't know me and I was forever being asked for an ID. So I broke down and got one. lol! I don't think I even needed one for travel until after 911.... I can remember having to bring in a paper stamped by the court showing I am a citizen so I could buy a fishing license
If it ever came down to needing 2 photo ID's what would I use? My stamped paper... I still have that filed away some where lol!

IN SOME CITY'S in this country a drivers license is not a neccesity therefore a lot of people dont have them,because they dont have cars....dont need one to get around ,cant afford one because of parking,public transportation is more economical and some othere reasons.And then we have the rural part of the country were people are so poor they cant afford one(divers license)they cant get to the county seat to get one,dont have birth certificates,( HOME DELIVERY) and a host of other reasons.The snide remark about welfare and banana's was a dog whistle but that is ok after all we can do that.IT'S like the signifying monkey saying" I didnt do nothin"......right.!!!!!!!!WE HAVE TALKED ABOUT THE FOOD STAMP BUSINESS......fix the computers and the administraors NOBODY HERE ADVOCATES THE FOOD STAMP PROGRAM AS IT SITS RIGHT NOW........ funny how solyndra became more than one how did that happen??????? Ok, folks, the issue is a photo ID. Where drivers licences came from I don't have a clue, and has muddled the waters. In some states if you are poor, you can get a state issued ID for free. It wouldn't really be that hard for any state to have a mobile ID office the goes from one remote town to another. Satellite high speed internet is a reality. Instead of barking at each other, try looking for constructive solutions.
Just for my 2 cents worth, I think a National Photo ID is a good idea. Issued free of charge and managed by each state.

Wow "cantjustwatch": The wrath of something just came down on me in the form of an irrational rant from you. And why? Because I asked you to explain your disagreement with me. Just do me a favor and look up in any 1979 or later economics textbook what the word "recession" means. It's pretty darn clear or was when I took some classes back then.
My next favor is that you go back to my post and re-read it. I could be wrong but green energy, Billions with a B, the deficit, or any other part of your rant wasn't addressed in my post. But if you'd like me to prove that a government can spend its way into a recession as you clearly state as fact, you'll be waiting a long time. I'm sure there are many financial ninjas on this blog that can prove me wrong but citations would be nice (not necessary).

I'll gladly explain to you what Obama didn't "inherit" a darn thing. Something you should know already, but hey, maybe you were too busy running for city council under the guise of being a Republican to really be focusing much on anything else.
So, here's why Obama didn't inherit squat. Obama was part and parcel of the Congress under Bush, was he not? Starting in 2006, the Democrat ruled Congress began to spend like drunken sailors. So, it's only logical to realize that Obama inherited NOTHING from Bush, but from the Democrat Congress, of which he was a part of. Hope that clears things up for you. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself and his fellow Democrats.
Well since there isn't a D that holds office in this county, and God knows that slime ball McGee will run again, I guess D will have to be my choice. But I'll tell you what. McGee will get re-elected. No 2 ways about it. These folks up here would rather die than vote D.

For those people, why couldn't the states assume accountability and responsibility for seeking out those citizens and register them to vote, or get them a free ID card? Mexico and most poor democracies in the world have been able to register and give IDs to almost all their citizens. Surely the United States can do it too.

Dornan called for an investigation of alleged illegal voting by noncitizens. According to Congressional Quarterly, a Washington, DC newspaper that focuses on developments in Congress, "Task force Chairman [U.S. Representative] Vernon J. Ehlers, R-Mich., said investigators had found concrete evidence of 748 illegal votes by noncitizens.
Now yes, some will say, "hey, that's not enough to swing it for the other guy" and they'd be correct of course. But, this case was in 1996, and I do believe our illegal immigrant problem has increased significantly since that time. Today, there's no doubt that it COULD sway an election, especially in areas or states, specifically Democrat states, that are lax in checking voter registration.
It is a federal crime to vote illegally. However, in all cases that have been documented of illegal voting in recent years there apparently has never been a prosecution and, therefore, no penalty has been assessed. Some of the cases involved the discovery of illegal voting by aliens during investigation of applicants for U.S. citizenship. Even though illegal voting could have made the alien ineligible for U.S. citizenship, the disqualification was waived. Therefore, the penalty in the law against illegal voting could be likened to a paper tiger.

Liberals boast of their openness to abortion and unconstrained sexuality, but that is just a fig-leaf to cover their own statist leanings. Conservatives, according to the gospel of conventional wisdom, are too concerned with what goes on in our bedrooms. Still, liberals have the rest of your house pretty well covered. The left currently regulates, or would like to regulate: your light bulbs, the water flow in your toilet, your car's gas mileage, your health insurance coverage, your child's education, your retirement options, your fat intake, your salt intake, your child's school lunch, your right to own everything from guns to plastic grocery bags, etc., etc.
Of course liberalism is a religion. All of the qualities attributed to traditional faith equally apply to liberalism. It has its own prophets (Barack Obama), clergy (the mainstream media, many public school teachers), churches (public schools, public employee union halls), revivals (Occupy Wall Street, storming the Wisconsin State House), tithing (taxes, particularly on 'the rich') and behavior- altering predictions for the end of the world (Al Gore's award-winning 'documentary' An Inconvenient Truth).
While Christians tend to frown upon rampant sexuality and blasphemy, deadly sins and sinners against liberalism include: big profits, Wal-Mart, SUVs, the Boy Scouts, big oil, big pharmaceuticals, big insurance, McDonald's, right-to-work states, unrestricted speech on college campuses, talk radio not hindered by a fairness doctrine and feisty Alaska moms who run for public office. Ann Coulter said it best: "You haven't seen religious indignation until you've seen a liberal react to a lit cigarette in the no-smoking section."
Traditional-minded Americans invest their faith in such time-honored institutions as marriage, family, social mores, the free market and the swift arm of justice as checks on the foibles and limitations of human nature. Liberals tend to exalt their own flowery visions of social justice as our binding social contracts, above even the Constitution. President Obama has frequently harped on its limitations, and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, one-time counsel for the ACLU, recently advised Egyptians not to use it as a model in forming their new government.
It is not that traditionalists are less compassionate or idealistic, they simply realize that human imperfection makes utopia on earth impossible and that justice for everyone is best served by ensuring equality of opportunity as opposed to equality of outcome.
Election 2012 will hinge on the agenda of President Obama and two competing worldviews. Whatever the advantages of one vision over another, make no mistake, President Obama and his acolytes possess the same religious fervor as any fire-and-brimstone preacher on Sunday morning community access television. They are no less willing to use the power of the state to ensure that their ideals prevail.
If the religious right ridiculously blames social decay on Hollywood and The Playboy Philosophy, you haven't seen caricature till you see the Democrat strategy for 2012: Republicans portrayed as rich, white misogynists out seeking to ban contraception.
Finding bogeymen is one negative attribute of religion that liberals will master as they continue on their holy crusade to "transform" the greatest bastion of liberty the world has ever known.

An economic recession can only be confirmed if GDP (Gross Domestic Product) growth is negative for a period of two or more consecutive quarters.
Now you might want to research your statement of:
"I respectfully disagree, I say he inherited a financial crisis and SPENT us into a recession".
I still believe a government cannot spend its way into a recession. You seem pretty sure the recession was a result of "the TRILLIONS of dollars spent by this administration".
I certainly don't expect you to do any research into this. You can have your opinion and I can have mine. Now that we have complete opposite opinions about government spending causing a recession, I will do the research for my own education.

While there are other definitions of a recession, they aren't quantifiable and are vague. In short, if you cannot accept the definition I provided, then you can stop reading right here.
The following is one of the equations I found for calculating GDP:
GDP = Consumer Spending + Investment made by industry + Excess of Exports over Imports + Government Spending.
I'm no financial guru and I know I am horrible at algebra so I'll let you explain how the US Government can spend its way into a recession. I'm certainly open to learning more about how our economy works.
No one who is an American Citizen has been prevented the right to vote in this century. Registering to vote should be treated as a solemn occasion that it once was.
All of this petty sniping takes away the wonder of the freedoms that we have enjoyed. The greedy politicians who court certain voting blocks instead of putting themselves out there with as much honesty and integrity that they can muster.
