I've learned some things about Governor Romney's plans if he wins the election.
First, the Statue of Freedom that has been in place atop the U.S. Captiol Building since 1863, will be removed and replaced by a statue of the angel Moroni. The statue will be facing toward Joseph Smith's birthplace in western New York.
Current prophet and President of the Church of the LDS President Thomas Monson will be named Prophet Czar. The prophet's portrait will appear next to Romney's in all public schools and federal buildings.
Perhaps most shocking, Warren Jeffs will be pardoned.
Romney will choose not to enforce anti-polygamy laws in Utah and surrounding states. The book "Under the Banner of Heaven" will be banned from further publication. Current owners will be required to submit affidavits that they have destroyed their copies.
All American families will be urged to increase the number of children in their families from the current average of 2-3 to 6-9.
On the defense front, body armor will be replaced by sacred garments. To ensure their effectiveness, all personnel issued garments must convert to the LDS religion.
He will operate with a shadow cabinet, consisting of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Oh, by the way, we got a memo at work Monday. It said that because of the Affordable Healthcare Act, Tricare premiums for retired military are going up!
On Tuesday, we were informed via a memo that we are getting a cost of living raise. It went on to tell us that because of the Affordable Healthcare Act, our regular insurance premiums were going up.
I'm not sure who came up with the name of this Act. But I do know that our health insurance was a lot more affordable before.

Texas is a great state and I hated leaving there. We're hoping to get stationed down there again years down the road and buy a ranch. All of my buddies from back at Wright-Patt AFB have it planned out on how we are all going to get stationed back there and live by each other again. It sounds kind of silly but, the friendships you make at some of these bases are just hard to find anywhere else :)
Welp, I better get going. Gonna head up to the courthouse and vote and then down to get a haircut.

So, as KH was talking about and back to what this blog is about, the lack of borders is killing us!
It is costing over $7 million per day/ $2.5 Billion peryear to house illegals in prisons and jails. Not to mention court cost, lawyers fees, law enforcement, etc. like she said.
On top of that, there are still 10 million illegals who aren't in our jails or prisons that we are having to support in one way or another.
I say we build a fence and electrify it. I will even volunteer a weeks worth of time to help! I voluteered over 15,000 hours in Texas last year so, I'm used to the heat!
And Dave, before you question those numbers, yes, thats 12hrs/day 7 days a week for 6 months :)

Why should we have to foot the bill for people being here illegally? That would include the resources for Law Enforcement, Car Accidents caused by illegal, uninsured motorists, schools with crowded classrooms, the courts, hospitals and the list could go on and on.
No one reimburses us for their expenses, and by that I mean their country of origin. Nor do they pay taxes, which we do.
It isn't just the murder rate, the crimes committed against each other while here in the US count too.
here is a thought. People used to come over from the old country, they worked and saved hard so that they send money back home for the others to immigrate too. They sponsored their families, and churches and other organizations did too.
Americans are the most generous people in the world. And if they had more resources on hand that were not stretched in other directions because of those who are here illegally, they too would consider sponsoring a family.
BTW, those are "round about" numbers and I'm hoping someone can disprove them. Because the more and more I get to thinking about them, the madder I get!
MsM, there were 14,748 murders in the U.S. in 2010.
Using the numbers from my link, about 8,800 were commited by U.S. citizens and 5,900 by illegals.
This is in no way scientific but, according to my figures, and I may be wrong, illegals commit 40% of the muders while only making up 3% of the population.

I appreciate the service your wife performs, but I am astonished that among the hardships that your family has faced through her career, and in particular the Benghazi attack that the lack of toilet paper would be worth mentioning. No money for toilet paper? What are we going to do, t.p. a mud hut? Those types of products are managed far differently than those products that allow us to Fly, Fight and Win. As far as dealing with the effects of war from one of the perspectives you're empathic with, my father in law was in Khe Sahn as a combat photographer at the same time your father in law was. My father in law later went to the A Shau Valley. But that was then, and our taxes are being paid to help them now.
I made my comment regarding the $1900 a year for every citizen of the United States to bring attention to those who gripe about others mooching off their tax dollars. The $1900 is what it is, whether one is a veteran or not. When you're a vet here at home, someone is still taking the fight to someone else and that fight has to be paid for. And if one is not paying that $1900 a year, who's covering it? Maybe our guy in the fight. Expecting our fighters to put their lives on the line, in addition to shelling out some tax bucks to cover somebody back here doesn't sit right with me.

We're right to wrestle with those questions regarding the use of our troops. The military approach doesn't solve everything. The United States should support in whatever appropriate way, those citizens of other nations whose leaders don't respect the rights endowed on them by their Creator.
But it's apparent no one else who has made a comment here has done any wrestling with the idea of shooting people as they illegally cross our border. Shoot first, ask questions later. How many of their fathers, sons, mothers and daughters would you feel comfortable summarily executing as they cross?

In fact, that figure doesn't even appear in the document you linked to. The document doesn't mention whether the victims of the murders are citizens or other illegal aliens.

What is wrong with this picture? We have homeless mentally ill people on the streets, Veterans who fought for our country having to pursue pages of red tape for the benefits that they were promised when they signed up. We have Border Patrol Agents getting prosecuted for doing their jobs.
We have Ranchers who lose money every day when they lose cattle and property is destroyed.
We have law enforcement officials risking life and limb trying to curtail the invasion of illegals who drive drunk, commit crimes in their jurisdictions. Hospitals over run with patients who are here illegally and do not pay.
And entire families who come to each farm area to work as a family for cash while applying for assistance in the winter and taking advantage of our schools.
We have illegals who steal someone else's identity in the way of a social security number and cause untold mayhem with the IRS to get it straightened out.
Pursuit of Liberty does not come with crossing a border, but following the laws of the land. Taking the citizenship steps like all of the immigrants that came before them.
Do I ever begrudge someone trying to have a better life, No I don't. Instead of squeezing the very wealthy to give more than their fare share, maybe, we should demand that these people pay back taxes, repay medical expenses and all of the other benefits of working in this country prior to their applying for citizenship.
Whew! that is a mouthful. I don't blame anyone for wanting to have a better life, but I do think that it is only fair, that they obey the same laws of the land that we do.
America is not a blank check. It consists of many visionaries of all races, creeds and religions. The first budget cut to reduce the deficit would simply be to collect the payment owed to us from those who haven't paid their fair share.

Now, we're not building this fence to keep U.S. citizens in.

Sure, our own nation was born of a revolution. But, the ancestors of the revolutionaries had to be here first, and they just showed up on the beach one day.
And then, after they got here, they proceeded to the Pacific and stepped on a few toes along the way as well. Took some time and had to solve a few problems with the pesky indigents, but Jefferson's dream was realized. And it's a good thing it was. It would have been much more difficult to defend the nation if it did not span the continent.
Bottom line, it's a mess. The wall won't fix it or keep terrorists out. It will slow them down. It won't keep them out.
People want to be free. They're coming here. They haven't taken any of my stuff, other than some donations and a few bucks in tax money.

We all the military we have with all the tanks and other fighting equipment, looks like a good place for our military to train with live fire power. Send a couple of the drones down there to watch and tell the military where to put the next round coming from a tank that just needs to be fired. If your one of those unlucky citizens from South of the border sneaking into the States better think twice the border is armed and going to shoot people that violate our border laws.

And we also pay to educate those very same terrorists. Then when they get nailed we pay for their attorney and jail cell and the eventual ticket "home" (if they ever leave that is). We may all agree that no matter where a person is born, their birthright is liberty. Conforming one's behavior to the social construct of the nation where a human being is born is secondary to the birthright.
