Romney v. Obama---Really Even A "Race?"

UH-UH-UH-UH...
Politicians. Really just liars and cheats right? If you "want" to aspire to be a politician you kind of have to be a "special" sort of a person right? Lies should flow fluently and without fail. Promises? Broken of course. Say one thing and then do 100% the opposite. Teleprompters. A politician has never met one he did not like. Are they really lies these guys tell if someone else has written the script and they just say the words?

Illegal realatives living in this country without papers and collecting THOUSANDS in welfare (and probably sleeping in the White House). Only in America. Land of the free and home of the brave!

Stats for today:

"President Obama and Mitt Romney are within one-point of one another in the latest polling from The New York Times/CBS (47% Romney -- 46% Obama), Gallup (46%-46%), and Rasmussen Reports (47% Obama- 46% Romney)."

"Twenty-three percent of all voters -- including twenty-two percent of Independents surveyed in the latest New York Times/CBS News poll said that Mr. Romney's tenure at Bain makes them less likely to vote for him. Meanwhile, a new Rasmussen survey found that forty-one percent of voters see Romney's record in the private sector as a reason not to vote for him -- up eight points from where it was several months ago."

"President Obama's position appears to be eroding -- not because of ineffective campaigning, but because he does not have effective policies. Indeed, to date, both candidates have avoided talking about what the electorate wants and requires."

"The larger narrative is a weak economy, declining confidence in the country's economic outlook, and an all-pervasive sense that the country is heading in the wrong direction under Obama's leadership."

"A solid majority of voters (58%-28%) in the NY Times/CBS News poll said that President Obama has not delivered has not fulfilled his promise to deliver positive change for the country, while an additional 7 percent say he has delivered change that has been bad for the country.

Moreover, by a margin of 49%-41% the New York Times/CBS news poll found that voters believe Governor Romney would do a better job handling the economy and jobs than President Obama -- and voters have more confidence in Romney's ability to handle the federal budget deficit (50 percent to 36 percent), taxes (47 percent to 42 percent) and illegal immigration (46 percent to 38 percent) as well.

This is why Mitt Romney is still running neck and neck with President Obama."

"The president's position appears to be eroding -- not because of ineffective campaigning, but because he does not have effective policies."

President Obama does not have "effective poilicies." Geez, ya think? Only took nearly four years to find out that he is for every counry BUT America.

Let us not make it a repeat folks!

PLEASE tell me how you become responsible for people you dont know? Why should you be responsible?? Why would I consider someone the media dug up as a relative. Most dont even acknowledge someone they have never met ,bonded with or even spoken to a relative. I guess it was necessary to imply that they reside at the white house cant quite figure out why but I am sure you had a reason.I seem to remember that he did not intercede on anyone's behalf so therefore what would you call that??? I COULD BE WRONG HE MIGHT HAVE.I AM ALSO SURE THAT IF SOMEONE DID SOMETHING ILLEGAL IT WOULD BE OUT THERE.IF THEY DID COLLECT WELFARE HOW IS HE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT OR DO YOU FEEL HE SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THEM??........OR are we just throwing crape out there to be throwing it ????? Had nothing to do with and otherwise good blog........makes no sense

Your blog makes perfect sense to me, Tracy. I also don't see how this election will be close. The only way is if team Obama can get all the illegals and welfare recipients to get to the polls. Even that won't make it close. Obama isn't going to get near as much of the youth vote this time around because all of the kids are getting out of colleges and finding no jobs. He's not going to get the people whe wanted to make a fashion statement in 2008 by voting in the first black president. That's already been done now, nothing new or exciting anymore. He's also not going to get the vast numbers of minorities like he did in 2008 because they've been hit the hardest by the worst economy since the Great Depression. And he won't get all those idealistic, wishful thinkers who thought Obama would be "the great uniter". Instead, what those poor voters got was "a great divider". You know the old saying "Fooled me once, shame on you, fooled me twice, shame on me". People won't be hoodwinked again.

Yep Buckshot---very true. Very nice. Thanks.

Buckshot61 The quote originated in an American Republican blog in December 2009, rather than a Czech newspaper in April 2010.

As Zook says do your home work

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Tue, Jul 24, 2012, at 9:07 AM

Yes I got the message I thought I would add to it,by saying the czech newspaper got it from an American Republican web blog..... And NO I don't feel silly at all for setting something more clear and where it originally came from.

Democrat or Republican when you copy and paste something theres a zillion other sites out there that have the same thing. If you dig a little deeper you can find where it originated from.

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Tue, Jul 24, 2012, at 9:26 AM

If you found the original web blog then put it on here for everyone to see. Dig deeper then I did

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Tue, Jul 24, 2012, at 9:28 AM

Here's something more I found on political

In fact its not even from a Czech newspaper but a blogger called professoroflif101 (blog since defunct) who wrote the original missive in Dec of 2009.

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Tue, Jul 24, 2012, at 9:35 AM

YES Buckshot61 the Message was very Important!

I'm sorry I implied that someone might know you....... Please forgive me :>) My mistake to even think someone might know you or you could be someone.

Have a good no one knows me kind of day....... and I will have a many people know me kind of day.....

Hope it rains today, that sure would be nice

It doesn't surprise me at all everyone is ignoring the EU and it's problems. All economies are tied together now. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when the EU slides into recession, some countries are already in another one, you can bet we will have another one no matter who is elected. Economic matters outside of this country, we have no control over, but the bleed over will hit. Stop being blind to the world and thinking we are immune.

Many comments are shared over the internet. However, I think that the statement is very true to what is really going on with our voting choices.

The fact that someone in the Czech Republic chose to reprint this missive is very telling.

Just like anything other statement that moves a person, this one has gotten shared many many times. And used as a reference in several publications.

Regardless of Origin, this statement does say something very profound and is not partisan in nature. Quite frankly, it is a sad commentary on the citizens of the US. We have squandered so much over the past 60 years of our freedoms, education and voting rights.

This election should be about where our country is heading with failed policies of the past several presidents Republican or Democrat.

As we move toward the economic rapids, would you rather have half a paddle or a life jacket to prevent this nation from going under? Can we learn to float our own boats by letting our elected officials know that we mean business in getting things done as far as the budget is concerned or any other issue at hand.

Are we sheep willing to go over a cliff just because someone in a political party says so?

-- Posted by KH Gal on Tue, Jul 24, 2012, at 11:49 AM

Economically, we are held hostage by the world economy. Something almost everyone is ignoring!

Other countries go into recession, our export markets dry up, there are lay-offs, less consumer spending. You know the drill. To think any one party or politician has an answer that will prevent that from happening is lying through their teeth. No one wants to take a step back, take off their political glasses and take a long, deep look at the events surrounding the meltdown of 2008. It's called the domino effect. Even today, one country gets the sniffles, the worlds economy gets a cold.

We are not alone in this mess!

We have zero control over the other economies of the world and their effect on ours!

Wake up and get a grip!

We killed any hope of being able to control the damage when we allowed the wholesale off-shoring of so many American jobs, and gave them tax credits for doing so!

Tax cuts and tax credits for pie in the sky promises that things will get better if certain groups are given preferential treatment. Well, things might have gotten better for them, but the rest of us are still sinking.

20% of the wage earners earning 5% of the wages.

SHAME ON US!

Basically stagnant wages for the lower middle class for 30 years now!

SHAME ON US!

The richest 5%. Their income growth vs the real workers is sickening!

SHAME ON US!

It's time to tell the "Job Creators", create or pay up. They have had 30 years!

Enough is enough!

Buckshot61 I did apologize to you and I'm happy you are "someone" to those that know you. You are not "someone" to me since I don't even know who I am talking to other then "someone" who has a screen name Buckshot61. For all I know you could be an Ax-murderer!! Better yet Maybe your Obama! :>) SMILE!

The same one as someone else on this blog I would guess.

-- Posted by OpinionMissy on Wed, Jul 25, 2012, at 6:39 AM

I totally agree with Buckshot, as usual. It is not the government's role to create jobs, as has been said a million times on these blogs. It is also not our job to get involved with other countries' economies. Our government should be easing all the burdensome regulations and taxes that deter entrepeneurs from going into business. Instead, Obama is doing just the opposite. This country could be great again if people would stop expecting the government to take care of them and solve all their problems.

-- Posted by Second Wind on Wed, Jul 25, 2012, at 3:24 PM

Our economy is so closely tied to the other economies of the world, divorce is impossible. Can't you see that?

Question. How is it OK for OM to advocate regulating insurance companies even more and no one calls her on it??

I agree it's not governments job to create jobs, but if the government gives tax breaks for the private sector to create jobs and it doesn't, then the tax breaks should go away, or is corporate welfare OK???

An interesting article. Seems that because of tax dollars the government spent, millions and millions of jobs have been created. So I guess that the government can create jobs after all.

I work with a company that developed a bio based product that enables in place clean up for spills of organic materials (i.e. hydrocarbons) . This product has made it possible for businesses and municipalities to save by not requiring removal and disposal of say, contaminated soil. I see this product as being developed in response to the regulations that require clean up and in response to the market that developed when their customers recognized the benefits and cost savings provided through use of the product. It is not accurate to assume that all regulation is unnecessary and burdensome.

When the Govt. "creates" jobs, we pay for it through our taxes. And guess who really benefits from this generosity? Our elected officials with their pension plans, insurance and pay grades that they don't really earn.

Facts on Job creation Bush v Obama

http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/06...

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Thu, Jul 26, 2012, at 11:35 AM

Our government invested tax dollars on the R&D that produced the internet. Fact.

The private sector has profited in the billions or trillions from the internet. Fact.

The private sector did not develop the internet. Fact.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Thu, Jul 26, 2012, at 3:11 PM

Buckshot, it must gall you to no end that the private sector did not invent the internet, the government did. Same for velcro, and a whole slew of other things that have provided so many jobs.

So climb off that mole hill you reside on and admit that the private sector is not the end all be all.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Thu, Jul 26, 2012, at 3:21 PM

When you look at the jobs that have been lost---we have "gained" nothing. In order to really "gain" we would need to figure out how many were lost when this all started and how many have come online since.

Just like the statement that unemployment/jobless claims have gone down---they have not gone down. People have run out of benefits and are removed from that total. It is not that there are less claims---just less that are eligible. Big difference.

Roy,

Here is the abstract for the original study your source describes as his role in "creating" the internet:

"Abstract -- A protocol that supports the sharing of resources that exist in different packet switching networks is presented. The protocol provides for variation in individual network packet sizes, transmission failures, sequencing, flow control, end-to-end error checking, and the creation and destruction of logical process-to-process connections. Some implementation issues are considered, and problems such as internetwork routing, accounting, and timeouts are exposed."

From that paper came TCP - Transmission Control Protocol and IP - Internet Protocol. Combined, they are TCP/IP - Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol.

Like MUTCD is in your field of employment, these are merely the standards that allow the world wide web network to connect Apples to Dells to cell phones and/or tablets.

The investigation, creation and sometimes even the upkeep of such standards is a function of our government and has been since shortly after the Revolutionary War. That's why a 1/2" nut on a Ford would fit a 1/2" bolt on a Chevy.

As for jobs, the .com world was absolutely "where it was at" for a long period of time. Had it been a government operation, the extension .gov would have been the norm.

Fact -

The development of the Internet was a collaborative effort of government and private sector monies and minds on a global basis.

I have lived in Mountain Home for over 11 years now. I love to be outdoors in wide open spaces (as long as it does not involve camping...in a tent and an out house). I dislike Government waste/abuse of tax dollars and "sky is the limit" spending by those that we elect to represent "us." I value free speech when what is stated is factual (as opposed to lies, gossip and un-truths). I love the Chicago White Sox (I never said I was perfect) and the Broncos are okay too! I am 38 years old and married to a guy who is active duty USAF (and a Cubs fan...he is the "perfect" one). I am anti-nuclear and against further desecration of our planet with waste that we can do little to nothing with. If you dislike blunt, this is not the blog for you. Enjoy!
