Obama. An "American President" Who is Anti-AmericanPosted Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 2:11 PM
"PROGRESS." Really? For Who?
How about the killing of unarmed journalists by these same people? Or the killing of 2 military officers as they sat in their offices---shot in the head. http://articles.philly.com/2012-02-24/ne... How about a "President" that bows to another "leader" who probably did not deserve a shake of the hand? How about a "President" that does a TV apology to say he is sorry for Americans in general? Is this guy really the face of America? Really? Why do we as Americans think this is acceptable? Can we survive another four years of this? Obama. Progress for Who? An apology to save many more service members lives?
What are their lives worth?
A bow? I got it, to heck with their customs and what they consider polite behavior. We are Americans and we are superior.
It's really scary for me these days as one of my sons in a couple months will spend one year in Afganistan. I hope the violence over the burning of the Muslim bibles stops soon. He has never spend time in a country at war and It is very stressful for me to know that he will soon be over there. He is married and has 2 little boys.
If he was already there when Obama apologized for the burning of the bibles I would be grateful that he did, even if they didn't listen to his apology at least he tried to stop the violence on our troops..
Let me just say that I am not happy with this President. I am not ashamed to be an American but I am ashamed that BO is our President. After today's killing of two more american soldiers inside a secure compond we need to get OUT OF THERE. Let these people alone as they will kill themselves. Secure our borders and let them all know that we will use whatever force is necessary to wipe out any and all who do us harm. You cannot be reasonable with unreasonable people.
I hope you can watch this utube video. I would be proud to know this women and would stand beside her.

A new news headline today:
"It's not easy for presidents to say I'm sorry."
Funny, this is all Osama Obama seems to be able to do. How can a President be ashamed of the people he claims to lead?
Well said bob8492 and that video was very good. Thank you for posting. What a smart, young lady!
Roy:
I guess Obama touching the Queen was polite in your mind?
"An apology to save more service members lives?"
Under what theory Roy? Do you really think that an "apology" from Mr. Obama really matters to these people? Really? These people are killing machines and only happy when they are killing people---their own included.
Under what theory does a half baked apology from a man who does not even like Americans save lives? I am sure the families of the 2 officers killed in the last 24 hours as they sat in their office (shot in their heads mind you) get a warm and fuzzy feeling EVERY time they watch the Commander and Chief say "I am sorry."
He needs to say he is "sorry" to the American People for being so dishonest. He needs to say he is "sorry" to the American People for the debt he has put us in. He needs to say he is "sorry" to the American People for the "change you can believe in."
Charity begins at home.
Our service people are being killed because our sorry butts are in a place we have no business being in, have no respect for their religion or customs and trying to force a government on them they don't want. What is so hard to understand about that? The Taliban deserved to be thrown out, but then we should have left them to their own devices. Let them chose the government they want. But nooooo, we had to force a form of government on them they have no experience with and then complain like heck when things go in the crapper.
Nice to see you aren't above a little name calling OM.
All of you, go back and really read about our history in that region of the world, and if you still can't understand why they hate us, then you are part of the problem.
Buckshot has yet to answer me about the Shah of Iran. A perfect example of why we are hated.
Love that video. Shared it.
And just why do they hate us so, Buckshot. Do you deny our involvement in that whole mess involving the Shah? Or our other nefarious actions in the middle east?
Why don't you tell these good people how the Shah came to power Buckshot. I would love to see your spin.
I understand about the Shah. Most of this is history.
They would hate us regardless of history because we are not a Muslim nation. Heaven knows.... they even hate some muslims ... and kill muslims who leave the faith or are from a different muslim sect.
The question IS ,,,, should we pullout and leave them to their own mess. The reality is that WE ARE THERE... but should we stay?
The question of the blog is about the President apologizing....and his lack of leadership to make America proud.
Some of you people chase things around that might be way off topic......but I would defend your right to speak your mind
Good video, I wish I knew that lady
Roy,
We are not perfect as a Nation, no one is. However, it is the Americans who are the first to offer a helping hand to ANY nation in times of trouble. The world wars are a good example of this and any disaster that strikes.
As I read these comments, one thought came into my mind. How some of the leaders of governments acted to appease Hitler. It didn't turn out too well for some countries. He invaded them any way.
When you say that you are relieved that Obama got his apology in to save troops, what you don't realize is that it has the opposite effect. Their culture and beliefs are not like ours.
This battle is unlike any other that we have fought. We are not fighting people who will be our friends and allies after it is over, like Japan or Germany.
The books in question had already been desecrated by the prisoners who were Muslim. The burning was the protocol that had been in place by the Muslim beliefs to begin with. It was unfortunate, but hardly worth the profuse apology.
Support our troops should mean far more than a campaign slogan, don't you think?
bob8492: Thanks for posting that link. I truly love that woman. She speaks what my heart believes.
We willingly entered that den of poisonous snakes a century ago, knowing full well their past behavior. It's far to late to complain about being bit!
Roy, I sometimes read the MtnHo. blog as I live here and want to keep up. I seldom post as I generally don't have a lot to add to the conversation and I am not much for arguments over the net. HOWEVER, you kind of have my ire up even though sometimes I agree with what you say... but NOT time time. Our President should not have apologized.
Tell me your solution to the present day events. I am a student of history and know all the events you speak of but that does not lay out your plan for today or tomorrow. Where should we be today and where should we go tomorrow?
If you are so smart and your wisdom is based on history tell us what we should do! How would you answer and settle all of these world situations. I feel certain we would be in strong agreement with some solutions.... maybe like... come home!
If I read today's headlines correctly... and they are true(?) the two officers who got shot in the head by a Afhgan officer(suspect #1 in shooting) are victims of terrorism and murder. In war you face your enemy not shoot them in the back of the head and run. These people are cowards and not deserving of our friendship and help.
Come home! protect our border! we can get along and do business with the countries that are friendly and understand religious freedom and tolerence of different opinions. We do not need or WANT this. We CAN stand and must STAND UP to these people and beliefs... and we WILL stand above them.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so is it now that I get it? or do I ???? Do bazookaman and Roy do a tag-team to keep this gig going? Sort of like a antagonistic relationship for the spirit of the net. Is it that in real life they are good friends and pal around together...so to speak. hmmm, now I am going to have to ask others who know lots more then I do about these blogs. You fellas get paid????? but by whom??? and for what reason???
Well bob, as I see it, we have two choices. Disengage and stay out of their affairs completely, or Homers solution, extermination. Mike's suggestion would kill everyone, civilians and combatants alike. That doesn't seem any better than Homers solution.
Our track record and past behavior all but precludes disengagement without a serious change in our behavior and attitudes going ahead. 100+ years builds up an enormous amount of hate and distrust, not mention that our two civilizations hold completely different values systems.
Some peoples attitude that they are savages needing taming only exasperates the situation.
They don't like our religion or ideals and we don't like theirs.
Mike and I respectfully agree to disagree. We are both passionate in our beliefs.
I listened to an interview this morning on CNN, McCain was interviewed and he said we cannot pull out of Afghanistan now because if we do we will continue to be attacked. We are doing night raids and killing Taliban over there. To sum it up its not all about the Afghanistan people but for our own safety as well.
Roy
Your comment "
An apology to save many more service members lives?
What are their lives worth?
Just how many lives is it saving for our military folks on the battle field 4 military people shot and killed and then today another 7 wounded by another attack on a compound The sorry apology didn't stop anything. The President should never have done that over burning of their so call religious Quran. Since when have we gone to war with another country and suppose to play by their rules. War is just that kill the enemy and be done with it, in this case the terrorist.
"Again your comment"
A bow? I got it, to heck with their customs and what they consider polite behavior.
Thats right the heck with their customs we are not there to honor what they think like killing off the people in the West or cutting off their heads or just plain blowing us up all in the name of their customs. No President of the US should ever bow to another country and if you would have watched the take place you would see the leader did not bow to our President.
"Again you" Our service people are being killed because our sorry butts are in a place we have no business being in, have no respect for . Its our Military that was send over there to do a job and your say our sorry butts, I guess you are calling the Military people sorry butts, it not the people in DC over there its our Military doing the job they were send to do, but way we have to play by their rules so we don't offend them or hurt anyone. Have you paid any attention to who knows who the insurgents are and who is helping to hide them, now when a civilian get killed maybe they should think about who they are covering for.
I guess your statement to OM about name calling I must have missed it I didn't see any name calling. BTW nice blog OM even if Roy doesn't like it, its always his opinion that is correct and everyone else's in wrong in his eyes.
Good posts KHgal, bob8492 with the link that was great, also good on Idaho Al"
Now go ahead Roy and put your spin on it and say thats not what you meant to say. We all know how much you like to critize back to others that disagree with you.
YOU GUYS must of forgot President Bush apologized to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki for an American soldier shooting at a Quran in 2008....
DOESNT count MISS M you know that.....IF we werent there we wouldnt be worrying about this garbage....out,enough.Id like to know what happened to the shooter in the incident .Somebody knows who he was and were he went.
Solution despite MCCAIN.....30 DAY WITHDRAWL NOTICE.IF WE CANT CARRY IT OR SELL IT TO THEM DESTROY IT AND GO.WE HAVE DONE IT BEFORE(FRANCE)
There is no need to continue they dont want a different form of government they want what they have IT WORKS FOR THEM let it be.10 YRS to avenge 9/11 I think that is enough.IT will bring back not one soul.SECURE THE HOMELAND AND CALL IT A DAY.THE politics of it is wrong and it cannot work as we percieve it.No western nation has understood that region or been succesfull enough.
buckshot, zook, you guys also made some good comments didn't mean to leave you off my last post.
My last comment.

"So, no apology, ever, is ever, or has ever been ok, by a US President? Is that a clear enough statement of what Bazoomba and OnionMssy think?"
-- Posted by Observer on Sun, Feb 26, 2012, at 9:36 PM
Observer and MsM:
My blog relates to the VERY specific items that I listed---which I felt were fairly clear (just not clear enough for the 2 of you I guess). I NEVER said an apology by ANY president is not "ok." My objection is to whom/what and why. And oh my---more deaths at the hands of this enemy...hope that "sorry" from Obama was good for him (Obama). It sure did not help anything and from all signs inflamed things even more.
"Ronnie would have made a Parking lot out of it for what they did to us"...
Reality check: What did Ronnie do after the Marine Barracks in Beirut was attacked (241 Marines KIA);1983, U.S. Embassy bombing; April 1981, 63 KIA, 17 Americans, PanAm flight 103, AKA "Lockerbie"...259 crew and pax plus 11 more people on the ground.
Answer: The great Republican sunshine salesman and Statesman turned the reins over to Bush I in 1989.
No need to explain OM No one should of been killed for burning the korans......We shouldn't of been there in the first place...
I certainly hope it settles down soon and the violence stops. The way it looks our troops will still be over there in 2015...
The candidates will keep making their promises and you know as well as I do its all balony nothing different will happen even if Mickey Moose gets voted in.... They all make promises they can't keep and I'm not just talking about Republicans, the Democrats always do the pony show to...
MsM, we agree. They are all full of it.
