Sarah Palin's New Book--"America By Heart"Posted Friday, January 7, 2011, at 12:57 PM
Going Back To The Foundation For Which This Country Was Created
Below is some information from her new book that I feel, really hits home and sums it up. "I mention to the crowd that, this year, the Tax Day that matters isn't April 15, but April 9. That's the day the average American worker finally earns enough to pay his or her federal and state taxes, which means that the average American spends the first ninety-nine days of the year working for the government." (Page xi) ...................................................................... So, do the math MH blog readers. Most of us spend nearly 1/3 of the year working to PAY TAXES and support a Government that does NOT support us, as Americans! Are we nuts???????? ...................................................................... "What I've learned from all this traveling and meeting and talking and reading is this: the spark of patriotic indignation that inspired the Americans who fought for our freedom and independence has been ignited once again! Americans are reawakening to the ideas, the principles, the habits of the heart, and disciplines of the mind that made America great. This isn't a political awakening. It's an AMERICAN (my emphasis) awakening. It's coming from real people---not politicos or inside the-Beltway types. These are the Americans who grow our food, teach our children, run our small businesses, help out those less fortunate, and fight our wars. They've seen what is happening in America, so they've decided to get involved. They feel like they're losing something good and fundamental about their country, so they've decided to take it back, because they love this country and are proud to be Americans!" (Page xiii) "I knew it was time to ask: Who are these participants? And I realized that the Tea Partiers ARE my uncle Ron and Aunt Kate: normal Americans who haven't necessarily been involved in national politics before but are turned on to this movement because they love America and they don't like what they see happening to her. They're so concerned about the path we're on that they've decided to get involved. And believe me; they may not have done this two years ago. But they're doing it today." "But here is what you'll learn if you'll take the time to go out and see this big, beautiful country: Americans still "cling" (to use a word that's been used before) to our founding values. We don't want a fundamental transformation. America has real problems---real ones. People are hurting and out of work. Families are struggling to pay their bills and save for their future. But what's wrong with America isn't that we're America. Our country doesn't need to change to get us back on track. It's our leadership and political focus that need to change." (Page xv) ...................................................................... I have not read the entire book yet, however, in my opinion, Sarah's second book is better than her first. It gives more insight to the fact that Sarah Palin is a thinker---a smart, American woman! She is strong and could care less what the folks in DC think of her. Many want to knock her because she left her office in Alaska in the middle of her term. Well, she had her reasons---right or wrong and not for any of us to judge. Had she remained in office, people would be knocking her for collecting a pay check while she was on the road (just like most of our elected folks do while they are in office). Sarah Palin, in my opinion, wants to be more than "Alaska's Sarah"---she wants to be "America's Sarah!" The voice of reason and common sense when this country is going right down the tubes with the help of our President. Why is it wrong to have spirit in America? The folks who speak so harshly of Sarah may not admit it but she makes more sense than our President at this point (IMHO). Those of you who voted for the other guy are starting to see the light...YOU SHOULD HAVE VOTED FOR THE OTHER GUY! Just my two cents. I hope some of you will take the time to read her book. She may see Russia from her window but I see the next election from mine (taken from her book---it was from a sign at a rally). As always, enjoy. I have this book and tried to read it but it is a boring book. There are many people out there who have the same beliefs as she does and they don't have to write a book to be heard.....
There are plenty of American's who care about our country and they don't need to sell a book and make money off of it to prove it....
BTW this book isn't selling like her first one did
I haven't read Clinton or Obama's books. The only reason I have Palin's book is because my son the Comedian gave it to me as a Christmas Gift.
Michael Moore is a writer/director who makes his money off of capitalism by making movies about capitalism :) and he wasn't running for Vice President in 2008 and as far as I know he has NO agenda except to make Money...but hey then isn't that the same as Palin ? all about (Making Money)

Moore is a Canadian I haven't seen where he ran down Canada. He made a movie called "Canadian Bacon " with John Candy in it, however it wasn't a documentary

Yes, Moore is from Flint Michigan which is close to Canada... Moore has one thing he does best... tick off people.. thats right he gets people worked up and mad, for the right reason, most likely not. I lived near the area's he has wrote against (Roger and Me), I have seen AutoWorld, my nephew what his big Veterans Days blog writer this year (Blood on my hands)... I personally held the hand of the murderer Eric Harris (Columbine) when he was in the 4th grade on a field trip to the Alpena Michigan planetarium.... Roger Moore uses things like this to make money, to profit.. I have not seen anything positive come from anything he has exploited.

An idea whose time has come!
For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest was to exempt themselves from the Health care Reform ... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.
A Constitutional Convention - this is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time has come. And, with the advent of modern communication, the process can be moved along with incredible speed. There is talk out there that the "government" doesn't care what the people think. That is irrelevant. It is incumbent on the population to address elected officials to the wrongs afflicted against the populace...you and me. Think about this...
The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-old's) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc.
Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."
Talk about making money off of her book what about her show? She is a Tea Party hero, and all she is doing is milking off of it.

As for the "boring" book...I guess it would be boring considering it reminds us over and over that our elected officials are shafting us by altering the works of the Founding Fathers. I can see how that would "bore" you considering who you voted for.

I think she took it down because she knew the media would come after her. You know we have a lot of disturbed people that live here, some are racist, some believe everything they read and hear. The "map" on Palin's web site was not of "human targets" as you stated. It was a map of districts that were up for re-election. Big difference.

I am sure if the FBI or CIA thought she had a map of human targets and was in any way the cause of some nut shooting a bunch of people, she would be in jail or a nice padded cell.

You know what bazook I was not one of those that laughed at Bush nor have I ever laughed at or berated any President even those I didn't particularly like.
It's wrong and I will always say that. It makes us Americans look stupid in the eye's of other countrys.
I felt sorry for Bush and the way the public laughed and joked about him, but you know as well as I do he was not called the names that Obama has been called, nor was he scrutinized as much as Obama has been. Obama will go down in history as the one President that got more ridicule then any other President before him.
And with all that he is still going to run again. I would say he has lots of tenacity, unlike Sara who quit the people of Alaska to go on her road trips for profit, writing a book and staring in her own reality show. HA !

Your own postings of the news story very clearly state that the "targets" were "Districts up for re-election." Even those in the Districts said that.

bazookaman, Walmart often puts things in the middle of their aisles when one of two things occur: 1) They got a swingin' deal on the merchandise so they bought big and stacked 'em high to create interest. 2) Something isnt moving so they decide to drop the price a few bucks, move it to a more centrally located place in the store and promote it as a SALE! I don't believe that Walmart or its executives know anything more than you or I. Given the contempt that this administration has for Walmart, I doubt they'd be privvy to any inside information.
By the way, bazookaman, our govt has ALWAYS told farmers what they can and cannot grow. That, too, is a matter of public record.

Whenever Wal Mart gets a good deal (most likely from China) they buy buy buy the product so they can sell sell sell it. A few years back I bought several of them to store my Products in and I found them down close to the where the appliances are on shelves and I got them for a good price
