The Last Ride And The Circle Of Life

On Sunday, unknown to me, I would share my last ride with one of my best friends. My how things can change in 24 hours, and not for the best.

Your winny at the door just to let me know you were there.

Your sorrel mane flowing and the wind at our back.

Your steady step and gallant way.

Your kind, wise, big brown eyes.

Each lesson you taught me without any words.

Your kind, gentle way that brightened each day.

A shiny new pair of shoes to show you your way as you run through green pastures, not a thing in your way.

Be free my great friend---be free. We will meet to ride again one day.

I was very lucky to be blessed in this life with a great horse named Cheyenne who was a wild Mustang. Sadly, she has passed after a sudden, short illness. She will be greatly missed.

I love you Cheyenne and you are greatly missed.

Thank you to Dr. and Mrs. Patridge for all of your compassion and kindness in Chey's last day. Thank you also to Lasuen Excavation (Louise Lasuen) for giving Chey a humane burial. We appreciate all of you very much.

My horse's feet are as swift as rolling thunder

He carries me away from all my fears

And when the world threatens to fall asunder

His mane is there to wipe away my tears.

I have lived in Mountain Home for over 11 years now. I love to be outdoors in wide open spaces (as long as it does not involve camping...in a tent and an out house). I dislike Government waste/abuse of tax dollars and "sky is the limit" spending by those that we elect to represent "us." I value free speech when what is stated is factual (as opposed to lies, gossip and un-truths). I love the Chicago White Sox (I never said I was perfect) and the Broncos are okay too! I am 38 years old and married to a guy who is active duty USAF (and a Cubs fan...he is the "perfect" one). I am anti-nuclear and against further desecration of our planet with waste that we can do little to nothing with. If you dislike blunt, this is not the blog for you. Enjoy!
