The "Tale" Of Our Loss of Independence

Why Not Change This Too Mr. President?
HB 1388 was passed...although few know about it. It was passed much in the same way healthcare reform was drafted. Have you read it? If not, you should. Here is the link to verify for yourself.

http://www.thefederalregister.com/d.p/20...

President Obama went to great lengths to do this for HIS people without regard for the American People.

Unexpected Urgent Refugee and Migration Needs Related To Gaza

Memorandum for the Secretary of State

By the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, including section 2(c)(1) of the Migration and Refugee Assistance Act of 1962 (the ``Act''), as amended (22 U.S.C. 2601), I hereby determine, pursuant to section 2(c)(1) of the Act, that it is important to the national interest to furnish assistance under the Act in an amount not to exceed $20.3 million from the United States Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance Fund for the purpose of meeting unexpected and urgent refugee and migration needs, including by contributions to international, governmental, and nongovernmental organizations and payment of administrative expenses of Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration of the Department of State, related to humanitarian needs of Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza.

You are authorized and directed to publish this memorandum in the Federal Register.

We have record high unemployment but hey...what the heck...let more people into this country so that they too can live off of the taxpayers.

More change you can believe in compliments of Mr. Obama.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010...

Sotomayor, folding like a lawn chair. Tell people what they want to hear and then, once you are in, change your story. It is a theme in our Government these days.

Another good read-Nostradamus:

http://www.mabus.biz/nos/prefaceeng.php

"Do not give anything holy to the dogs, nor throw pearls in front of swine lest they trample them with their feet and turn on you and tear you apart." Oink-oink. Are we even able to recognize the "swine" in this day and age?

We will be ruled and ruined by a Muslim leader. We will turn our backs on Israel. Wow, sounds pretty much like the Obama administration to me.

So, to close. The US will allow Mexico to fight Arizona on their new immigration laws. Mexico states that this new laws will have a negative impact on trade. Hmmmmmm. I was not aware that human trafficking fell under the definition of "trade."

Let us not forget the removal of flags and the Pledge from many schools. What is next dare I ask?

Are we really going to fall for all of this garbage? Really? No matter what you dress a pig in to bring it to a party, it is STILL just a pig. If it looks like poop and smells like poop...good chance it is poop.

Just my 2 cents on this fine day in America. I figure I should write now as I am sure those laws too are about to change.

Ooops to both of you. This bill passed in Feb 2009 and the deceleration was signed in January 2009. That is 1 1/2 years ago! Also please read the text of the document you posted. It does not say, nor imply that we will allow these people to immigrate to the U.S. It says MIGRATION needs which means moving to a safer place in their own war torn country and Humanitarian needs. This has become an urban legend that this proclamation will lead to IMmigration into the U.S....you can look it up at factcheck.org or urbanlegends.about, com

And referring to our president and HIS people and inferring that his people are not Americans, that makes as much sense as basing arguments on the prophecies of Nostradamus. Oops..never mind.

And the comment about "boat people." Would you prefer that America left them behind all to be killed? That's what makes America great we help others!

On the 4th of July of all days why cant we find something positive to say about our great country. One of the great things about our country is that we can voice opposition to the government without retribution. I am a proud American and while I may not agree with your opinions I agree with your right to voice your opinion. However I do take exception when the facts are not correct or when the arguments are personal attacks rather than attacks on policy issues.

"The Government to take control of the BP oil spill web site." From the news this morning.

MHD: I never said the bill passed yesterday, last month, or 6 months ago. I said it passed and it passed under the cover of darkness and behind closed doors. Ooops to you.

Now, on to your "migration" comment. If you think for one minute that these people will EVER be sent back to their country, you are a complete fool. The flood gates are open. As far as what I would "prefer" here is my clear response. I would prefer that we take care of our own FIRST. If there is anything left at that point...well, then we can deal with that. However, we are in a grave state here. We SHOULD worry about our own. Further, if you are dumb enough to try to "sneak" into a country in an illegal manner then you should be willing to take the punishment. I for one am tired of people entering this country illegally and being ALLOWED to stay only so that WE, as taxpayers can support them. They can work for less because they get welfare, free medical and government/reduced rent housing. That is why illegals can "afford" to work for less. I could "afford" to work for less as well if I CHOSE to work the system. Instead, I choose to work. What a concept.

And before anyone throws out there that I am a racist. I am not. At some point in time, my family immigrated from Austria in search of a better life. The difference is that they did it through legal channels and were documented. Before we allow all of these people into this country there should be jobs for those who are LEGAL citizens. There should be help for those who have worked all of their lives and now have NOTHING. No job, no home, etc.

Wise up already. Where in the heck do you think people will "migrate" to once they are here? Arizona. Florida? OOOOOPS to many of you indeed. Too dumb to see the light.

"HB 1388 was passed...although few know about it. It was passed much in the same way healthcare reform was drafted. Have you read it? If not, you should. Here is the link to verify for yourself." Obviously, you haven't read it yourself. First, are you referring to House Bill (HB) 1388 or House Resolution (HR) 1388? Neither one, though is the Presidential Determination (2009-15) you quoted. And none of the above have anything to do with bringing more immigrants into the country.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/pal...

Still making stuff up and repeating things you hear as fact without bothering to check them out first, as usual. "I never said the bill passed yesterday, last month, or 6 months ago. I said it passed and it passed under the cover of darkness and behind closed doors." Ooops to you.

-- Posted by Quidnunc on Mon, Jul 5, 2010, at 8:37 AM

Thank you Quidnunc...the Snopes article is another great myth-buster of "behind closed doors." It also states GW Bush signed the same type of Determination for more countries and more money in 2007. Good for him!

OM You never address the real issue...this Deceleration does not allow people from Gaza to come to the U.S. You write: "If you think for one minute that these people will EVER be sent back to their country, you are a complete fool."

This statement is first an ad hominem fallacy:

Ad hominem abusive usually involves insulting or belittling one's opponent. This tactic is logically fallacious because insults and even true negative facts about the opponent's personal character have nothing to do with the logical merits of the opponent's arguments or assertions.

The statement is also a Strawman Fallacy where one takes the main issue " Palestinian Immigration" and you appear to link it with illegal immigration...a much weaker opponent.

There is no mass Palestinian Immigration.. you are now attacking ILLEGAL immigration which most would agree is a problem here in the US, to support your claim that our president is allowing Palestinians to immigrate to the US. This argument does not hold up.

Please make sure you address who "these people" are in your argumentation. Words like "these people"are too vague and can make it sound like you are stereotyping. Tell us who are "these people"

Also calling those that disagree with you "fools" and "dumb" does not advance rhetorical debate. This IS one of the problems with political dialogue today.

"I value free speech when what is stated is factual (as opposed to lies, gossip and un-truths)." This is from your own blog description...a very noble statement.

So if you find something wrong with my facts...let me know and we can discuss them. If you want to call those that disagree with you fools and dumb...sorry I wont take the bait and get into that type of discussion. I have said my peace.

The book written by Lee Iacocca was actually written in 2007 when Bush was President, since then wording has been changed and has been circulating in Emails

Here you go if you want a copy of this book you can buy it here

I don't really care when the book was written or about who, as I started it with True, false or whomever said it, it makes sense big time for Obama and staff, I didn't bother to check what was true or false about it thats why I started it the way I did.

Mr MHDb8:

I do not consider Snopes to be the best form of "fact" checking. That would be like going to one of your debate students or a member of the MHSD Board for the real facts on what the levy money was to be spent on and expect to be told the truth. There are always 2 sides to each and every story. You can always locate facts that will support your side while others will find facts to support theirs. As far as Snopes being the guide for all that is correct, I will respectfully disagree with you.

As far as my comment with respect to "those people" it was a direct reference to anyone who thinks they can gain entry into a country, be undocumented, remain undocumented, spounge off the taxpayers and live as if you are owed something doing little to be a productive member of society. "Those People" would refer to anyone who is in ANY country illegally. It will be the death of this country if someone does not rein it in. Even then, it may already be too late.

Just when we thought your credibility couldn't get any worse. Impressive. Denial and diversion. It should have been obvious though because your chosen name is 'Opinion' Missy and not 'Fact' Missy. Especially funny that you claim to have facts and then say they don't matter when they are false. As long as we all know, when you claim something as fact, there is 'always' another side. Helpful for when someone might be in danger of tripping and falling on your road apples.

bazookaman

you had 3 choices. Vote or not to vote in the last election Vote for the losers McCain/Palin or vote for Obama/Biden just like the rest of us.

I voted what about you? Did you vote for the losers?? or WHAT You didn't vote...? I just know with all your wisdom you couldn't of voted for Obama because you can see the future so much better then anyone...

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Mon, Jul 5, 2010, at 9:23 PM

Umm, wrong district Bazookaman. Minnick isn't in our district. Or maybe FactMissy can tell us how there are two sides to that story too.

-- Posted by Quidnunc on Mon, Jul 5, 2010, at 9:50 PM

So you wouldn't vote for this guy, then, even if he wasn't in your district:

I see. Do you feel the same way about the several billion dollars a year we send Israel?

Tax the rich!!! Tax the crap out of the rich. Considering that maybe 3 people in Mountain Home are in the category of rich, it won't affect most of us. Tax the rich I say!!

Households with net worths of $1 million or more may be identified as members of the upper-most socio-economic demographic, depending on the class model used. While most contemporary sociologists estimate that only 1% of households are members of the upper class, sociologist Leonard Beeghley asserts that all households with a net worth of $1 million or more are considered "rich." He divides "the rich" into two sub-groups: the rich and the super-rich. The rich constitute roughly 5% of U.S. households and their wealth is largely in the form of home equity

I have lived in Mountain Home for over 11 years now. I love to be outdoors in wide open spaces (as long as it does not involve camping...in a tent and an out house). I dislike Government waste/abuse of tax dollars and "sky is the limit" spending by those that we elect to represent "us." I value free speech when what is stated is factual (as opposed to lies, gossip and un-truths). I love the Chicago White Sox (I never said I was perfect) and the Broncos are okay too! I am 38 years old and married to a guy who is active duty USAF (and a Cubs fan...he is the "perfect" one). I am anti-nuclear and against further desecration of our planet with waste that we can do little to nothing with. If you dislike blunt, this is not the blog for you. Enjoy!
