Does The WECRD Lookout For Number One Or Always Step in Number 2?

Send in the clowns...there ought to be clowns. Where are the clowns?
So, another ill informed letter to the editor from Marsha Sellers and company! Surprised? Nope. Rather bored or is that board (yawn-yawn) as a matter of fact.

Ms. Sellers states in her LTE this week that the 2011 Appropriations Application can be and will be "amended." Well, needless to say, in typical WECRD fashion, they have lied. Appropriations Applications according to Senator Risch and Senator Crapo's office CANNOT be "amended." Marsha Sellers had this information and still elected to write a letter with misinformation. Ms. Sellers insisted on hiring an assistant for $9.00 per hour to help her. One would have thought that this "assistant" could have at least researched the facts since similar misinformation was also submitted last year by none other than the same person who did it this year. Why did only one (1) person on this board review this Application before it was sent in? Why lie and state that the Appropriations Application can be amended? Why submit false information in the first place to a Governmental agency? Why represent to the public (while we pay the bill mind you) that you are in good faith negotiations with the YMCA/CLDC when really, as your web page indicates, the facility is fully designed? Why waste the CLDC's time? Why pretend?

Be ashamed of these people. It is all about Mollie's dream---that part of the letter was right on. This is not about this community at all. It is all about "selfless" Mollie and her dream and we foot the bill. Let us remember! This is a recreation district that supports ANYTHING but recreation. Go figure.

Oh, and those Prada shoes you are wearing, well, they did just step in number two...aka the WECRD's load of bull.

A sad sad day Bazooka. Love the photo of Pelosi with her hammer on MSN. What a freaking joke...just like the WECRD Board. All cut from the same cloth---the best OUR money can buy.

Finally every American will have health care !

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Sun, Mar 21, 2010, at 9:15 PM

MsMarylin,

Have you actually seen the bill? How do we know what is there and what isn't? The folks who voted on it do not even know what it says. Thats is what is wrong here, we don't know what was there or how much it will cost. If you beleive what the polititions are selling then you are more gullible than I thought.

-- Posted by jtrotter on Mon, Mar 22, 2010, at 6:58 AM

So you say those that voted for it didn't even read it? what have they been doing all this time?

They still have some kinks in it that they are going to work out... It's not perfect but now when someone walks into the ER to get treatment they will have insurance.

I don't know about you guys but we don't make over $200,000 annually so we won't be the ones getting taxed. How many of you nay sayers have to pay on insurance premiums every month? We do And we just had to change insurance company so we could afford it as our old insurance went up

Why didn't the Republicans work on health care reform while they were in office?

At least we have a president now that has some B$#@%

Do you believe everything you read? There is so much crap out there that isn't true...

The only reason the Republicans wouldn't vote on new health care reform is because it's a Democratic President that was just about to make history and he did.

Now when someone walks into the ER they will have insurance. You say the ilegals will now get health insurance, well what do you think has been going on when they go to EMC? If they didn't have the money EMC was writing it off and who pays for that?

Now my son's employer will have to set up health insurance for him. Now my Grandson will have health insurance .

Next time he walks out of a convenience store and gets punched in the face and needs stitches his health care will cover the

cost and EMC won't write it off !

You gun crazy men who post on here live in fear. Even afraid to fill out the census report lol !

I am not afraid !

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Mon, Mar 22, 2010, at 9:38 AM

The only thing I am afaid of is the future of our country. I do not know anyone who was ever refused emergency treatment at a hospital. I also do not believe that any one person. Dem or Republican, knows what the contents of this bill are, including the President. How could they know, if they were still changing it last night? This is change for the sake of change, not for the sake of the people.

-- Posted by jtrotter on Mon, Mar 22, 2010, at 10:48 AM

As it was and still is until health care kicks in >> when someone walks into the ER without insurance the hospital would write the bill off. Who do you think was paying for them to get health care we were us tax payers.

If no one knows what is in the health care bill then why would they want to make changes ?

When Medicare passed the same thing happened. some people said those that wanted medicare were commies and etc. Name calling and etc. That's all history and we have survived with Medicare !

Take a guess what? When small business is "forced" to pay medical insurance for workers they will let workers go and/or won't hire new ones. Why would they pay for something for someone else, when they truly cannot afford it for themselves? Mom and Pop business just cannot afford the rates. Never have been able to. Big business can more afford the insurance, most small businesses cannot. So, Johhny, Joe and Mary are probably not going to be able to get a job again, and little mom and pop business doesn't get fined. One thing that should have happened was permitted people to buy insurance throughout different States. I bet with more competition the prices and types of coverage would have dropped. That is one huge item that could have been done, and wasn't even attempted. Why the heck should I pay for some couch potato lazy bums' insurance and food when they don't even try. Yeah, let's jsut give more away. And oh yeah, just because someone makes over 200,000 they should be penalized, so someone else can have the same? Get real folks. That is called socialism plain and simple. Let's live off of those who have better than you or I!! Quite greedy and jealous I would say. Sorry, but I will do without before I leech off of someone else just because they have more or make more income.

-- Posted by midea on Mon, Mar 22, 2010, at 5:12 PM

Pooh-pooh rolls down hill MsM. While your son may (MAY) get medical coverage, he may end up with no job as a result of this new soon-to-be law. Then, if you do not get the coverage...you will be fined. Well, if you could not afford the coverage to begin with how will you pay a fine.

I have family from Canada. When my uncle, older, got cancer, he left Canada because he could not get the care. He was older and they viewed his condition as a low priority. However, it was cancer and he needed to be treated ASAP. He was also a doctor and knew that time was not on his side. Guess where he ended up? In the United States because he could not get care at home.

Our Government cannot take care of what they have! Why would anyone trust them with their health? Look at what they have done with AIG and the banks.

midea said it best---spot on there lady. I feel sorry for the little guys. My employer is a solo guy. He has already said that he cannot afford forced insurance. Guess 2 of us will be unemployed soon. He is ready to close up shop, retire and move to a place without Obamanomics. ME TOO! We have sold ourselves out. I hope it was worth it. I guess this will help the issue with SSI being short. Let the population control begin. We will see how you all like it in a few years. Taxes are going to go up. Hope it is all worth it.

We need a tea party in Carl Miller Park!

-- Posted by OpinionMissy on Mon, Mar 22, 2010, at 8:14 PM

MsMaryilyn,

Hope your son still has a job when this kicks in. I guess it will depend on how much in insurance policies his employer can afford. But, if he loses his job, well by golly he can still get insurance on his own or BE FINED!!!! OOps, forgot - he won't have a job to pay for it. UMMMM wonder how that is going to work! Sounds to me that people in that situation would be no different than those on the dole now. It all comes around doesn't it?

-- Posted by midea on Mon, Mar 22, 2010, at 9:34 PM

No where in the constitution does it allow the federal goverment to force me to purchase a service or commodity from a commercial entity. Or in laymens terms, they can't make me buy insurance. The elastic clause has been stretched to the breaking point.

Texas has now said it will sue, also. That makes 38 states which is more than 3/4 of the states. Coincidentaly it takes 3/4 of the states to ratify a constitutional amendment...

-- Posted by Conservative on Mon, Mar 22, 2010, at 10:14 PM

I'm not to worried about my son loosing his job. He works in a grocery store and people still have to buy food. If they start getting rid of employees then service won't be so good.... customers will take their business elsewhere. It will not do business's any good down sizing unless they really need to any ways.

No it won't be Bush's fault anymore, but then did he even try to make health care better for our country while he was in office? NO ! He had his chance and so did Bush Sr.. Notta zip zero

Clinton was a joke, Hillary tried but couldn't get it done.

I realize Idaho is a Republican state and I am just bumping heads with people that have opinions different then mine.

I have my opinion as why the Republicans didn't vote and the way they behaved yesterday was like little children not getting their way. Spatting on democrats WOW ! what role models we have teaches our children good behavior NOT ! Republicans are an embarrassment to their own party

Those that make more then $250,000 will have to pay more, but don't they already and always have. Geez when I look in back of the tax book for my income bracket I see it goes higher and higher.... according to what your income is, is what you pay. I don't pay in as much as other people and some I pay in more...

You think we are better off staying the way we are? young people with No health insurance, people who have insurance and then get sick and are kicked out of hospitals because their insurance ran out? Insurance premiums and medicine going up. Do you buy your own medicines or do you get yours out at the base?

Bring it on ! lol ! I'm sure you will have to vent !

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Mon, Mar 22, 2010, at 10:26 PM

They can't make any one buy insurance but they can fine you if you don't Just watch !

How many of those states are Republican?

This is not over yet Their in a reconciliation state right now making more changes and then I believe it goes to the Senate...

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Mon, Mar 22, 2010, at 10:31 PM

As of this morning it seems there is only so far 12 states who want a lawsuit. I wonder what happened to the count of 38?

The Republicans are trying to get more to go along with the lawsuit because its going to get costly and do the tax payers want to pay for this. It's about money and now they want to spend more of the tax payers money.

Funny thing Idaho wasn't included in the state count this morning. I know I had seen on the news where Otter was the first to start this battle, what happened ? Maybe the news is misinformed ?

Shame shame on the Republicans for acting like little children who need a spanking ... If they didn't read the bill it's their own dang fault. If I was a republican legislator I would want to know every thing there is to know. When your elected by the people you are for the people and pouting and staying in their room is NOT for the people !

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Tue, Mar 23, 2010, at 9:46 AM

Funny thing is MsMarylin the American people did not want health reform so there for the Republicans stood their ground and voted against it.. You know -- "If you are elected by the people you are for the people"!!!!

-- Posted by Ontherocks on Tue, Mar 23, 2010, at 10:49 AM

Just can't watch

Sorry to tell you but you are misinformed about the Republicans being shut out of health care reform In fact, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee and Senate Finance Committee bills contained nearly 200 Republican amendments. They also had their own input on idea's. They were the ones that boged the process down

The Republicans filed 788 amendments, 161 of which made it into the bill.

Once again the Republicans are playing victim when in reality they aren't

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Tue, Mar 23, 2010, at 11:08 AM

The polls aren't to far off... Don't look like to much of a difference for or against health care reform. Of coarse this could change again and again before it actually becomes law

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone poll, taken Friday and Saturday nights, shows that 41% of likely voters favor the health care plan. Fifty-four percent (54%) are opposed.

There were 3 men released and they were sent to Georgia the country... The public won't know any more until it is declassified

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Tue, Mar 23, 2010, at 3:08 PM

Bazookaman what is your purpose? Most the stuff you post on here is the same old stuff you keep posting. Are you copying and pasting from your previous posts?

How dare you compare Hitler with our country. I have read many books and watched many documentary's about the Holocaust he was a horrible horrible man and many children, women, men and family's died in horrible tragic ways at the hands of this insane person we called a human being. You are offending everyone that had a family member die at the hands of Hitler !!

I am starting to think your not the rationale one that you have some problems going on.

You are making it appear as if Hitler is your Idol !

You seem to be in so much fear, I feel sorry for you that you have to live your life the way you do.

Why don't you try to find some happiness and move on. Go shoot your guns if that makes you happy ! I think I could find something better to do that brings happiness but to each his own.

Take a ride in one of your relics, do something positive !

CJW

Not hardly, lol ! we Americans have the right to speak our own minds and bazookaman spoke his and I spoke mine as you spoke yours !

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Wed, Mar 24, 2010, at 4:57 PM

OnTheRocks, No offense but I don't think you really have any idea what the "American people" want or don't want. I fall under that category and do not really appreciate you speaking for me. Yes a lot of Americans were against this bill. Does that necessarily mean they are completely against healthcare reform? I don't think so. It is painfully obvious that there are problems with healthcare in America. Something needs to be done. Was the socialist bill that was just passed the right way to go? Quite frankly, I don't think anyone knows yet. It is a shame that it wasn't fully understood or explained before it was signed. That much is undeniable.

-- Posted by Shells on Thu, Mar 25, 2010, at 9:40 AM

Aw bazookaman I hear you loud and clear..... I was trying to get your attention.

You are a smart man and well versed so why don't you apply all those idea's and thoughts you have and make use of them? You could start at city level work your way up to state. Put those thoughts to work !

We can compare Obama and anyone else to Hitler

Let's see

Obama..... Had a Mother

Hitler........Had a Mother

Obama .........has ears

Hitler.........had ears

Obama........ has legs

Hitler......had legs

and etc

Do you really think that while Obama is in office we are going to start up a regiment like Hitler had and start rounding up Republicans ?

I ask this why now are the Republicans whining when they had their chance to do something for the American people? What did they do while the Bush's were in office? Can you name any important things that was done? Refresh my memory

If you don't like what is going on now don't blame it all on Obama I would say the last 12 yrs before Obama came into office were wasted years unless you can refresh my memory on those years. Maybe I forgot something. The memory isn't as good as it used to be ....

Indoctrinating our grandkids in the schools. I've got a problem with THAT.

I forgot what happened with the kids in school?

We won't drill for oil here, but we'll give millions to Brazil so THEY can. I have a problem with THAT.

Do you know this to be true? I have a friend who lives in texas and she owns property that they are drilling on and she gets big money from it...

I don't have time this morning to go through and knit pick all your beliefs but I do enjoy debating with you !

Hey I have a 49 dodge I am wanting to get rid of !

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Thu, Mar 25, 2010, at 10:21 AM

Shells,

Health care is broken, and this bill will not fix that. The problem that people have with this bill is that it REQUIRES people to buy something. This does not fit into the definition of a free country. It is up to each and every individual/family to decide what they will and will not spend thier money on. I, like Bazooka, have a huge problem with this.

You had the same opportunity.

Bazookaman Do we have a choice when it comes to Social Security and Medicare? Money taken out of pay checks automatic Who put this unwanted not asked for law up on to us? I wonder back then if we were hollering as much as those are now about having to have Health Insurance !

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Sat, Mar 27, 2010, at 10:58 AM

Brevity is the soul of wit.

-- Posted by junkyard dog on Sat, Mar 27, 2010, at 6:28 PM

You know---I just have to weigh in on this.

I have never been more ashamed of the people who "represent" us than I am today, or this week. What Obama has done is far worse than what Clinton did to Monica in the "people's house." This is not for the "people." This is a way for our government to decide who gets healthcare and who does not. It is yet another form of government control from a government that has NO control themselves. If you want to know how well this is going to play out just look at what the government has done with AIG. If you want to know how well the government has done with CONTROL---look at the mortgage industry and Obama's foreclosure assistance program that has helped VERY-VERY few. That is the face of healthcare under this bozo.

Get ready for much higher taxes, much higher unemployment, more armed robbery and more violent crime, more theft, more people who are homeless and much, much higher suicide rates as well as sky high depression, etc. "OUR" government has us right where they want us! Nearly at their mercy. If you think this is democracy and what are country was founded on---YOU ARE NUTS!

Time will tell on all of this. It is the insurance industry that needs to be fixed. Healthcare for everyone is not the solution---the insurance industry and drug industry need to be "fixed." Until costs are brought under control---this is nothing more than another form of government welfare.

All of you who choose to look at this as a great thing really need to get those blinders off. Less government control should be the focus, not MORE.

I am ashamed at the people who call themselves our elected officials and elected for the people by the people. What a bunch of C-R-A-P. We can only hope a new bunch will be elected and what we have will be kicked to the curb with all of their lifetime benefits that WE pay for. What we have is not working. The ONLY hope we have are new people who MAY stand up for what is right and just---people who MAY really represent the PEOPLE. There are some very good, smart people who will soon make a run for office. Support them. They are are ONLY hope short of a revolution or renunciation. Much darker days are ahead. I hope you are ready for them and that your new found healthcare will give you peace. You are going to need it. What a GREAT legacy for the children this administration has brought. It will be 300 years before all of these BS programs are paid off and we will still be right where we are today. Gosh this country is great!!!!!!

I have lived in Mountain Home for over 11 years now. I love to be outdoors in wide open spaces (as long as it does not involve camping...in a tent and an out house). I dislike Government waste/abuse of tax dollars and "sky is the limit" spending by those that we elect to represent "us." I value free speech when what is stated is factual (as opposed to lies, gossip and un-truths). I love the Chicago White Sox (I never said I was perfect) and the Broncos are okay too! I am 38 years old and married to a guy who is active duty USAF (and a Cubs fan...he is the "perfect" one). I am anti-nuclear and against further desecration of our planet with waste that we can do little to nothing with. If you dislike blunt, this is not the blog for you. Enjoy!
