Mountain Home School District Selling Woodworking Class EquipmentPosted Sunday, February 5, at 3:49 PM This will begin a series of blogs on our local, Mountain Home School District and what is going on. I would encourage EVERY taxpayer in Mountain Home/School District 193 to visit the Mountain Home School District web page, under the Board tab (on the left side of web page) and see what is being sold by the Mountain Home School District from the former carpentry/woodworking program and what the opening bids will be for this equipment (Disclaimer: a bid is just that and does not indicate what actual sale(s) price may be). ...
So, this is how our Government defines "Dignity and Respect" when it comes to our fallen soldiers. Fathers, brothers, sons, mothers, daughters, sisters, husbands, wives and beloved friends. Below are the links to the story for which I write today. This story sickens me...
So the story begins! A City Attorney that did not know the law. A City Council that did not know the law but should have been better informed by their attorney. A "church" that saw an opportunity and ran with it. A former mayor who has always been about what is good for him and "satisfaction" at any cost but all in the name of "community" (can you say oppurtunist?)...
Milestones. Last week was a big one. My chest is not where it once was, my butt is not where it once was and I have a few gray hairs to keep a few wrinkles company! One thing that still works is my MOUTH. Thank goodness for that. So, the girls and I all met at PF Changs in downtown Boise. ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0GFRcFm-aY Well, I am waiting for the world to come to an end much like it was to do with Y2K...and we know how that turned out. I tried to live life to the fullest with no (okay, few) regrets, and commit at least three random acts of kindness toward my fellow man...
From the front page of the Mountain Home News dated April 20, 2011, "Facility Levy Election Slated District Seeks Funds To Help Maintain Its Aging Buildings." "The authorization being sought (in the May 17, 2011 election) would be for 'only' $925,000 a year."...
Well, there was a WECRD Board Meeting at the end of January. Here is a small sample of what happened. The WECRD has ELECTED to NOT follow the recommendation of the CLDC with respect to the proposed "recreation facility" for MH contrary to what they promised the public. The CLDC recommendation was this:...
Okay, it is no secret, I like Sarah. I think she is smart, well grounded, dedicated, sincere and a proven leader. She is a wonderful mother, supporter of our right to own guns (and ammo), hunter, wife and all around good person. Her life has not always been "easy." She knows what it is like to have to roll up your sleeves and WORK. Imagine that?!?!...
Well, there was a WECRD/CLDC meeting yesterday at 4:00. I say WECRD/CLDC because 2 of the 3 Board Members (Marsha and Jana) were there along with 2 other WECRD staff members. Anyway, the events of the meeting were something like this. Mark Hiddleston plans to stay on the CLDC as a chair/co-chair. Alan Bermensolo has declined to remain. The members of the CLDC will be contacted to find out how many of them wish to continue down the Yellow Brick Road...
It Is Your Blog Talk about whatever you want. Get it all off your chest. This is the place to chat, have your thoughts be known and not be on the front page of the MHN (on the BB). Have a great day everyone. "Life is too short to hold a grudge against someone that never mattered in the first place. Life is too short!"...
Just a reminder that November 2, 2010 is the day to VOTE! In order to make a change, we need to vote. There are many races this year that depend on all of us, who can, to vote. One of the many important races out there this year is for a change on the WECRD Board. There are two seats up for election...
Well, the secret email is out! The "Hi Team" email that forgot nearly the entire CLDC "team." The chosen few felt like they knew what was right for ALL of us in the WECRD taxing district. It is nice to know that three people (Mark Hiddleston, David Duro and Tom O'Neil know what is right for all of us (Tom and David work for the YMCA). ...
So, we have this gal named Shirley Phelps-Roper and her two daughters who like to travel the country with others to protest military funerals. She is not protesting the death of our citizens or protesting the war or the endless spending of OUR money. ...
Some time ago, I went to a WECRD Board Meeting on the 2010/2011 fiscal year budget. Prior to this meeting it was announced that an election official had been hired (a paid position). Please watch this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o9o2L2nI.....
Life is too short to spend it with people that: A. You do not like; and B. Who do not like you. Life is too short to go through life searching for just the right words in an effort to not offend (can anyone really do that?). Life is too short to spend your time doing things that you really do not enjoy...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5rbRg5Beb4&feature=related On September 9, 2010, I attended my first and last CLDC Budget & Finance Meeting. Here is what was being proposed for the taxpayers of Mountain Home, Idaho. 1. A 1.7/1.6 million dollar bond to build a facility with no gym or pool...
Just a re-cap of how that levy money will help the students of MH (and ALL public record): Mountain Home School District Administration Building Mcmurtrey, Timothy W. Superintendent Annual $100,147.00 3/12/2010 Mountain Home School District Administration Building Mcmurtrey, Cheryl K. Technology Assistance-sec Annual $67,016.00 3/12/2010...
MHSD Gets $684,000.00!!! Directly from the MHN story of September 1, 2010: "My first thought, when I heard we were going to get this money," said Supt. McMurtrey, "was to use it to lower the levy." "Unfortunately, there are a LOT of strings and we're not going to be able to do that," McMurtrey said...
On Sunday, unknown to me, I would share my last ride with one of my best friends. My how things can change in 24 hours, and not for the best. Your winny at the door just to let me know you were there. Your sorrel mane flowing and the wind at our back...
This article is written in response to a letter from Sandy Pitts that appeared in this paper last week. First, I would like to say that I am a member of a sub-committee of the CLDC, however, I write this letter today as an individual and a taxpayer only. ...

I have lived in Mountain Home for over 11 years now. I love to be outdoors in wide open spaces (as long as it does not involve camping...in a tent and an out house). I dislike Government waste/abuse of tax dollars and "sky is the limit" spending by those that we elect to represent "us." I value free speech when what is stated is factual (as opposed to lies, gossip and un-truths). I love the Chicago White Sox (I never said I was perfect) and the Broncos are okay too! I am 38 years old and married to a guy who is active duty USAF (and a Cubs fan...he is the "perfect" one). I am anti-nuclear and against further desecration of our planet with waste that we can do little to nothing with. If you dislike blunt, this is not the blog for you. Enjoy!
