The Not-so Real Real Meaning of Valentine's Day
As I sat working on Valentine's Day cards for the third grade glass I TA for, something hit me- Valentine's Day CAN have a real meaning, even if its highly speculated that it's a commercial holiday.
While I concurr with that sentiment, I also wanted to remind everybody the reason the greeting card companies feed us for celebrating Valentine's Day.
It's not just about telling your sweetie you love them, it's about letting those close to you know you love them. Although in our day-to-day lives we should be exhibiting that, February 14 comes along, and it's easier to remember that. So this Sunday, let your mother, father, sister, brother, husband, wife, or whoever it is you love, that you love them, and celebrate the meaning of Valentine's Day the way it's supposed to be celebrated.
Happy Valentine's Day all!
