  • So sad. Thoughts and prayers to all her loved ones. What was the cause of this young person's death?

  • Melodie, I am so proud of the way you express your thoughts and feelings and present them in such an eliquent manner. It was my pleasure to have you in class for four years. There are only a few times I have been slightly emotional in class and one was your farewell speech and the other was dealing with this. The citizens of Mountain Home should be honored to know that there are some very talented and thoughtful students like yourself that have attended MHHS. Students like yourself break down all the sterotypes others have of high school students. It will be my pleasure someday to say to a class of novices " I had SENATOR Lettkeman in my debate class." You will be succesful in any and all ventures you pursue.

  • Melodie:

I am so sorry for your loss. Friends are hard to find and keep in this transient world and when they die so young, it is even more heartbreaking.

I was in speech and debate in high school. Loved it. While I can't contribute to your cause personally, I applaud the initiative to set up the scholarship fund.

I will, however share your blog on facebook and see if we can get some interest in contributions.

  • Thank you all for the kind words.

CP I don't know, its hard to get info so far away and I can't event fathom contacting her family for the purpose of asking. I do wish I knew though.

Mr.Petti, it was a fantastic and hectic four years and my some of my proudest moments took place on that team. I'll always be honored to call myself a talkin tiger.

  • Thank you, Melodie, but the more I think about it, it is not important really. The way a person leaves this world doesn't define who they were, what they meant to us, or how much we will miss them. I am so sorry that you lost such a dear friend.

  • I didn't know her however I did hear about her passing on facebook from some of my younger friends. It's a tremendous loss when someone leaves us at such a young age. My heart goes out to her family and friends. Thank you Melodie for bringing this to our attention.
