So Tragic...Death and Stupid Comments made!

Posted Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at 8:55 PM

I am so tired of seeing comments made about how anyone who dies in a vehicle accident, and is behind the wheel, being at fault. I dont care if the person was at fault, I dont care if it was a flippin cow pie on a dark stretch of road, or a banana peel. A PERSON DIED! Be respectful, what if it was your wife, husband, child, friend, etc, etc, etc. Remember that little tid bit of wisdom, and say like the rest of us, condolences to the family.

Simple and to the point Erica. Thank you for saying it.

Erica, you are absolutely correct. What is upsetting to me is that people always want to place blame and in that process hurt others when they are already hurt. This is a tragic thing. A young life has left us. Compassion is what we should be offering not blame. Though asking WHY in anger is a part of the grieving process, it is not necessarily something that should be voiced outloud in public. Empathy is also a nice trait to offer. Sometimes there is no answer to the question why. Sometimes it is not constructive to need answers but destuctive. My prayers are for the family and friends. God bless.

I am/was a firefighter...structural then wildland. And as I say why be structured when you can go wild! I am married to an almost retired Air Force man, and we have 2 daughters. We lived on the base for 4 1/2 years but now we live in town. I love this place, and we are probably going to retire here. Woo Hoo! I like to consider myself smart, and savvy on the way things are, but like all of us...I have my moments. I work full time, and then I go to my job. As you can tell I have a different type of sense of humor, but most like it. In a nutshell, I am me and there is no defining me. I tell it like it is, and try, really try, to be tactful, but there is a time and place for everything and if you need it I will put you in your place.
