Bon Voyage My HeartPosted Thursday, November 1, 2012, at 3:07 PM
This is one of the last days these Holders of my Heart all payed together, before my Grandsons left for North Dakota. I love not much more than to see young children have the opportunity to ride good horses that build their confidence, and be able to play/race and giggle to their hearts delight. The have their own kind of games and strategies going on out there, cowboys and indians, and the sort. I just sat quietly and watched them do whatever they wanted to do. And took pictures to look at later, when I needed to see their faces.
This isn't my horse any more. I gave him to a friend of mine a couple years ago, but I had him here for a couple weeks, and it turned out great. I had 3 horses to have 3 grandkids ride and race on! I used to use him for one of my "Lesson Horses" and he hasn't forgotten how to behave. Thank you Sharon, for the borrow
We have over the years, bought saddles to use for young kids. As you can see, there are several young kids that needed them. But the saddle on Marshmallow, I bought over 25 years ago, at Flynn's Saddle Shop in Boise. It was Evan's when he was their size, and then Katie's, and then Joey's. It has been borrowed a few times (always with a request to take proper care of it) and it has more than paid for itself. I think I only paid 250$ for it back then, and it was used then!
As you can see, "The RACE is ON!" Jilly plans to be a roper very soon, so she is practicing her "roping" twirl. She can just about 100% "catch" while on foot. Soon we'll let her try horseback.
I had to go in and check on dinner. When I came back out, this is the site I saw from my back door. (sorry for the mess) But this site makes this Grandma very happy, and wistful too.

I am interested in this Community, County, and the beautiful state of Idaho. Most of my photos will be in Idaho, but from time to time, they will be my vacations aay from Idaho. You'll see lots of my Children and Grand children, along with others in my family. Of course there will be horses and horse related things, and things I photo'd horseback.
