Another Birthday….. sheeshPosted Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 10:10 PM
Austin is my first Grandchild. I can not believe he is 7 years old. The time flies, though it seems to drag at times. Then, one day another birthday comes along, and you wonder where the time went. How did he become this tall young man who is about to be finished with First Grade, and is looking forward to summer? This little man was the first baby I ever watched come into this world, and from that moment on, took my breath away. How did this come to pass? He's at that age, that when he sees me, he runs full blast and leaps into the air into my arms. Hopefully I see him coming, and make whatever adjustments that need to be made. It doesn't matter to him what I'm carrying, camera, groceries, whatever, he's going to launch into my arms. I love it.
Today after school/work, I jumped on the trampoline with him....
and he loves that too. He is of an age that it's still cool to play with grandma.... I love that with all my heart.
Happy Birthday Austin!
My Dad loves all children!

I am interested in this Community, County, and the beautiful state of Idaho. Most of my photos will be in Idaho, but from time to time, they will be my vacations aay from Idaho. You'll see lots of my Children and Grand children, along with others in my family. Of course there will be horses and horse related things, and things I photo'd horseback.

Same here!
Yep, it's good as long as I keep having them, so I can keep seeing them have theirs!
Don't forget, every year they have one, you have one! :)
I find it especially humbling when the little guy let's me get about half way through some important life lesson I want to give him and he interupts with some totally off the wall comment that is perfectly logical and amazingly true. It does bring one's head out of the clouds. But ya gotta luv it!
Thanks Mike, you bet I will treasure all these moments
Bonnie, I dread it too, but my oldest son is 29, and I'm not afraid to give him big bear hugs, and tell him "mommy loves her little man" Joey comes home this Friday for a few days (Mother's Day yay!) and I will beat him up for a while, for old times sake...(funning of course) (it's ritual)
And my daughter rolls her eyes at me sometimes, when I like to baby her grown up self.... whatever
Warren, there is nothing like a Grandchild to remind us that we aren't that lofty huh?
Jessie
I had just finished reading this when my grandson, who is three PLUS, got here. He rushed across the room and launched into my chair for the ceremonial hug and kiss before his folks went off to work. A few minutes later, we were at odds over an attitude thing he inherited from somebody (on my son-in-law's side of the family, I'm sure :-). We had a lenghty discussion about it and he has been a golden boy for a couple of hours now.
And to think a few years back I told a friend that I didn't know if I was into this Grandpa thing! LOL.
Thanks, Jessie for another great article.
I am dreading the day when KaeLynn is too big to sit on my lap anymore. Being a Grandma is so rewarding.
