Bonfire and Roping FunPosted Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at 10:42 AM
We had another 'Bonfire" and play evening tonight. We never really know who will come, but it's always fun. I was a bit worried about the weather, but it was considerate and only semi sprinkled a bit. The hotdogs, chorizos, and stuff were perfect! Again, memories made.... What could be better? Certainly not inside watching tv!
In the background, is my Dad watching over us, making sure we behave as near adultlike as possible. It almost never happens in reality, but he keeps hope up.
Keith is learning how to rope, kind of
Here comes Jilly to show him how. Along with Donna
I give a tiny bit of demonstration, but alas, I'm not good at it, but I like doing it, and it's fun..... you never know who I might rope. My dogs quit hanging around when the ropes come out....I guess they think I will aim at them. Guilty as charged. Note, that I have a PINK rope? Of course!
Al has been to a 4-H Leader meeting. She had to give a speech today, and she just got done showing me her speech. I'm impressed! Atta girl!
This was a bonfire after all...so hot dogs are being eaten!
I do believe Donna is a natural!
My sister, in a very pensive mood. Probably wondering what to put on her hot dog!
Keith has caught himself a steer!
Bryce being ...well...being Bryce...with a Cheeto face
That right there, is two grown boys about to raise Evan's Gas Powered Remote Control Helicopter up in the sky.
Evan tells me "I don't play those games" when I try to heel him. I of course tell him "Around here you do!" Though, in a way he was right, I missed
Part of what's fun about kids is, they fight when they get roped....but we have NO MERCY. Everyone is fair game.
Bryce says it's about time clean up the mess
Jilly had already ridden earlier, but Al wanted to ride, so they climbed up on these soaking wet horses and rode for a bit.
Another successful bon fire. We did get rained on a bit, but we moved everything under a big tree and waited it out. And then the sun shone brilliantly, and made for a perfect evening for fun. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |
I am interested in this Community, County, and the beautiful state of Idaho. Most of my photos will be in Idaho, but from time to time, they will be my vacations aay from Idaho. You'll see lots of my Children and Grand children, along with others in my family. Of course there will be horses and horse related things, and things I photo'd horseback.

I miss those campfire dinners. It is the only way to eat a hotdog in my book.
Lots of fun for all.
Exactly, I don't really care for hot dogs, but they are good this way. Though I also make chorizos.... LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
That was a GREAT time. Thank you guys sooooo much for inviting us! It was really nice getting to meet some of your family and friends too. I'm gonna be practicing all week on my roping... Some of those pictures are just embarrassing! :)
They are not embarrassing. They are just showing the fun we have. if you didn't know what a rope WAS, that would be embarrassing. Roping takes a bit of practice and experience. You'll be amazed how quickly you can pick it up. No worries
And it was great to have you come and meet my family and friends. At times... we're all just a bunch of children!
Pinnk is the new black....if you ask me. Always has been. I'm a girly girl in many ways.... and ridiculously NOT a girly girl in many ways. My saddle blankets usually have pink.... jacket, vest.... hats.... In a group of cowboys I can be spotted amongst the dirt, chinks, sweaty horse...by my "Breast Cancer Pink Ribboned" saddle bag, or some other give away.
I've always loved pink...all shades, but since I lost my sister to Breast Cancer, I'll buy just about anything pink. I have things I didn't need ...still packaged, in pink.
Your wife rocks! BTW
Jessie
Speaking of Pink, have changed my Avatar, showing my pink vest. And what I typically do. Photograph. This is at a branding last Saturday.
