Yogi Bear at the Movie House!

If you've read much from me,  you know Wayne and I love to do fun things with our Grandchildren.  Yesterday, we managed to get 5 of the 8 Grandchildren together.  Not only that, but we got the Great Grandparents too!  We took up the better part of two of the back rows. 

It's a process getting that many kids in one vehicle, (specially when you're out of practice) We gave ourselves an hour to get that part of the job done. 

We got the job done, and had about half an hour to spare.  Hmmmmmmmmmm..... what to do for half an hour?  If you know us, you also know that we wind up in D&B Supply frequently.  So, we decided to kill a few minutes and headed there to see what we could see.

It is a bit intimidating having a handful of kids ...but we did it!

We are long time friends of Sondra, who works in D&B.  Tracy is another friend, and both of them enjoyed meeting and being introduced to our Grandchildren.  The kids were not shy about telling about how old they are etc.  The two Jillian & Gillian enjoy telling everyone their names are nearly the same. 

Of course we had to go see what toys there are, and they were like little troopers going down the aisles. 

We did notice that these kids seem to have all these toys.  I wonder how that happened? hmmmmm?

Stick horses are always a hit.  You can't have too many horses of any kind.  trust me, ya can't

We had spent just about enough time, so we headed out. 

You KNOW they put these little animals right by the exit, just for those impulse moments.

Back to the car, getting more excited to go see Yogi Bear!

This is what takes so long really, all the buckling and unbuckling.  Happy to do it though

How cute ARE these kids...???? Trust me, they're the cutest.  Just ask me, I"ll be happy to tell ya

Sean Powers owns the theatre along with his wife Audra.  He's also a long time friend.  He kind of thought we might be a bit crazy taking on 5 grandkids for their 1st movie outing.  We knew we'd be going crazy later, so why not get this thing started!

This was a super friendly kid, who didn't seem to mind having his picture taken.  He did think it a bit out of line to ask for 5 popcorn kid things.  (dunno what they're called)

You HAVE to have popcorn at the movies!

Nobody had a better seat in the house, besides my Mom.  Then of course at the end of the movie, all the kids got a ride.  Not all kids get  ride at the theatre, ya know.

Yogi Bear was as good as it was when we were kids, and the kids were spell bound all the way thru.  What kid doesn't love an above average bear that talks? 

It was worth every penny and more.  We made memories with those kids, and can't wait to do it again. 

P.S.  My Mom said something that touched my heart that evening.  There was a lady in front of my Mom who asked if she was going to be in her way.  (Thank you very much for being considerate of my Mom, that in itself was worth the evening to me) My Mom replied "

"These are all my Great Grand Children, You couldn't bother me tonight" 

And all were happy.

The point of my blogs, is always to show the beauty of what we have in our lives.  Not the "things" but the lives themselves.  A lot of what we have is simply the appreciation of each other, and helping each other to simply appreciate.
