Jumping off the Twin Falls BridgePosted Saturday, January 29, 2011, at 11:21 PM
Wayne and I took a trip to Hagerman a couple weeks ago, and on the way over the bridge we noticed a couple guys getting ready to jump. So we hurried and pulled over to get some pictures! Of course, they had parachutes..... it wasn't going to be deadly as you might have first thought. Lighting wasn't great, but I took some shots anyway, and thought I'd share with you. Enjoy The sun was going down, and I simply thought it was gorgeous! First Jumper While waiting for the 2nd Jumper, I took a pic of the bridge. It's pretty awesome, I think Frozen water falls. 2nd Jumper. Not great shots but still fun to see. The buddies at the bottom, cheering them on!
I hope you enjoyed!

I am interested in this Community, County, and the beautiful state of Idaho. Most of my photos will be in Idaho, but from time to time, they will be my vacations aay from Idaho. You'll see lots of my Children and Grand children, along with others in my family. Of course there will be horses and horse related things, and things I photo'd horseback.

Your pictures are so beautiful and breath taking. You better hide that camera I want it ! :)
You certainly know your stuff and how to get a shot
Your pictures make me want to take a trip to Twin Falls.............
Marylin, I love my camera too! I have it with me almost all the time. And I'd fight ya for it, be sure!
I"m learning all the time how to get the shots I want, and settings on this camera, though I"m sure I will Never know all of the possibilities.
My son has one like it, and he studies it and tells me stuff, so I learn from him too.
Thanks for your comment!
Kids can be handy when you need them for all the tech stuff. lol !
My son helps me with a lot of things. Recently he wired my computer to the tv so I can download and watch instant movies from netflix
Yep, we have a laptop set up to the TV just about full time. Love that!
Speaking of that, the new laptop is working like a champ now
Glad to hear the new laptop is working good now. I got me that HP one with the flowers on it. I love it! I think were turning into an hp family. My son has one and I got one for my Grandson.....
It's so nice they have instant movies now, I just wish they would have more to select from..
Great pictures as always, been across the bridge a number of times but never saw anyone jumping from it. If I remember once with a buddy we got further down stream and got to see more of the river and under the bridge but can't remember just where we were.
No need to keep what you have for a camera a secret tells all LOL
My new laptop is an HP too. My first lap top was an HP, one before this one was a Gateway. This one is called the ENVY. My son said I needed it for the photo work I do. Price was more than I really wanted, but I "test drove" a lesser one for a couple months, and dang it, he was right! Sent the little one back, and bit the bullet. It's worth it, I can already tell.
Eagle Eye, My camera is a Canon T1i. 15 MP with HD video. It obviously does an amazing job, I couldn't be more happy. The one my son has is a Canon XSI and 12 pixels. He loves it too. I got it first and decided I wanted the 15, with video, so he took it, and I ordered a new one. My sister (not to be outdone) waited a year, and then couldn't stand it. She got the Canon T2i.
All are amazing cameras! Go Canon!
I spend alot of time in some beautiful places, so I figured I better photojournalize.
Thanks for the comments!
I've been there when a woman jumped with a faulty parachute. She lived but is paralyzed. Some have died there I know. It's also the place kids got caught throwing cats off after lighting them on fire. Cats had been dunked in gas if I remember right. I'm sure there was jail time on that deal. If you looked east you would have seen Evil's rocket ramp that is still there. We went down there for that event. Early 70's?
Yep, that's where Evil K jumped. I didn't see it, except on TV.
And yes, there are always gonna be kids doing those needless harmful things to animals. No regard for life
Thanks Skeeter, for chiming in....
Jessie
D'ya know why blind people don't parachute off of bridges?...because it scares the heck out of their dog!
What great fortune to be crossing that structure when thrill seekers were having a ball. Not sure what skeeter's feelings were when he responded; but I'd be willing to strap him to my harness and take an 80th birthday celebratory tandem leap to help him understand why jumpers jump...that is, if I don't get shot by a jealous husband first.
Good stuff Jessie.
Brought back memories of jumping from perfectly good airplanes and being really thirsty after landing...I took a cat with me once, but he wasn't on fire. Last time I'll ever jump with a pussy
Always like looking at the pictures. I took photography in college and have always had lots of pictures around the house before and since then. Not sure I would want to jump, but I enjoy seeing them jump, when I work there.
Thanks JYD, I enjoy the humor you have! Somehow, I wouldn't like to jump from a bridge, but I've always wanted to jump from an airplane. I don't know why that makes sence to me..... but it does. A bridge jump might be too fast I guess...more time to remember what to do from a plane?
Yep, was real fortunate to be able to get the shots. We had to hurry and I was still getting camera ready when first jumper jumped.... was afraid I was gonna miss him!
I remember the first time that my husband David saw the Perrine Bridge. We stopped and he took a lot of pictures. the view never ceases to take your breath away. this is the case with many locations in Idaho.
He too would love to parachute from an airplane. there is a little shine to his eyes whenever he sees someone doing just that.
I love your pictures. I remember the old Perrine Bridge too. It seemed pretty high then until you looked at the "new one", when it was being built.
Gosh, that dates me doesn't it?
Beautiful pictures Jessie!
We're a both dated KH Gal, in our old time thoughts as well!
CHandy, thanks!
I didn't know the Perrine Bridge as it is now is not the original one. When was this "new one" built? I'm terrified of Heights so It would be good if I get up on the bridge, let alone jump off it lol !
Jumping off the bridge made me think of America the land of the free, home of the brave
If you're a bit interested, you can go here to read about the bridge.

Enjoy
those bridge jumpers are freaking crazy.
There is a spot underneath the north side of the bridge that you can sit under and just look down below. I used to sit there by myself to think sometimes. It's beautiful in the summers.
Wow, you have been reading the blogs....thanks!
