I am interested in this Community, County, and the beautiful state of Idaho. Most of my photos will be in Idaho, but from time to time, they will be my vacations aay from Idaho. You'll see lots of my Children and Grand children, along with others in my family. Of course there will be horses and horse related things, and things I photo'd horseback.

Lots of fun

It's almost spring and I'm looking forward to it! I love this time of year when soon we will be outside alot and working for hours on end. It's cold sometimes, and miserably hot other times. Incredibly hard work that leaves us exhausted and we wouldn't have it any other way. When you combine good work, great people, along with amazingly fun times....throw in some good food, what more could you want?

I can't imagine that one thing will ever change completely and that's "cowboying" It just has to be done and there's really not that many ways to do it.

Early in the morning we trail the cattle to a spot where the next job is done. Mornings out here are without exception beautiful. Sometimes bitter cold, foggy, misty, etc....but always beautiful. This country never disappoints me.

Then when we get to the job site it's time to get set up.

Then the branding begins!

This is for men and women alike. We all do it.

Does this not make you think of Annie Oakley?

We have some fun and games from time to time.... when the job is mostly done.

Have you ever seen a cowboy rope a calf off a heifer?

And without doubt, sometimes we have a crash and burn incident. No animals or humans were hurt in these photos.

It's all fun and games til someone gets hurt....and No one was hurt....so it's all good!

I was born in Texas ( I know Texans can be so arrogant) but these pictures show me why I'm so proud to live in Idaho now. What is the saying? I wasn't born here but I got here as fast as I could.

Guru, I have had lots of people say "Want to be out there!" We've even done some "rides" for folks that wanted to have that experience. It is a life to love for sure.

Yep, that cuts it. When I grow up, I wanna be a cowboy. Just like Gene and Roy. Well maybe not so much like Gene. I don't know why, but I never really cared for Gene. Although, Gene did end up owning a baseball team that wasn't the ChiSox. I'll give him a few points for that. (j/k OM)

I have been lucky enough to travel throughout our great nation and I am astounded by the number of people who do not believe this life style still exists. I worked on a dude ranch in Squaw Valley that was a huge attraction for people from big cities all over. Some of these folks had never seen a real live horse, cow or deer. To see the joy in their eyes (especially the kids)when I took them for a ride in the mountains was an awesome experience for me.

I hope these pictures linger on to tell the story of life in our little world. Thanks for sharing.

I don't believe I ever met Roy Rogers, but while my Dad was stationed in California (George AFB) we did go to all the tourist sites, and I remember seeing "Trigger" That of course was a biggie for me! A horse of course.
