It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!Posted Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at 9:04 AM
We went to go to Quey's Maze, and found them closed on Sunday. Shoulda known it I guess...but with 7 Grandkids...we improvised. There is another Patch belonging to Nate Jones in Glenns Ferry. It was quiet and beautiful, and the kids had a great time! They picked pumpkins, and had foot races in the field. Tired enough to drink a bottle of water and be relatively quiet (for 7 kids) on the way home. We've been told we're crazy to take that many, but it's worth the work that it takes to have a fun day with that many children. Kids are what it's all about with us though, so it's what we do. This was a super fun day, and I hope everyone with children (of all ages) will do something this fall for their children's memories. Little ones needed a bit of help from the evil vines that tripped them
Tired and sitting on their pumpkins....................................showoff
Loading the pumpkins.... little bit of a race pumpkin chair
Playin' on bales is always fun pumpkin head JUMP!~
Taking a break Beautiful Pretty girls we are 4!
Don't these pictures just make ya wanna go take a passle of children and have fun at a pumpkin patch???? Do it! Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |
I am interested in this Community, County, and the beautiful state of Idaho. Most of my photos will be in Idaho, but from time to time, they will be my vacations aay from Idaho. You'll see lots of my Children and Grand children, along with others in my family. Of course there will be horses and horse related things, and things I photo'd horseback.

Hey Jessie we also drove down to Quey's Maze on sunday with two truck loads and found it closed -- I couldnt believe that you can build something like that geared to family fun and close it on one of the only two days most familys can do things together!!!!
We wont do that again....
Its good to know about the other patch we will try that one this weekend...
Ontherocks.... the one in Glenns Ferry was pretty quiet, and they had a table for "Honor System" but it did give the kids a good time. Too bad you weren't there when we were there, or you could have followed us. Wayne happened to know Nate, so he called him, and they said "Come ahead!"
Had I thought a bit more about it, I would have realized that they wouldn't be working there on a Sunday, but maybe could have had someone else manning it for them.
I hope you enjoy Nate's! And I hope the weather holds for you. I wanted to go to a local one and be able to get a group of kids back home pretty quick...so didn't want to go to Boise.
Enjoy, and thanks for the comment

Awwwwwwww I wish I could wrap my arms around those little ones. I miss having kids in the house or living near me. At one time I had 7 kids living with me and I loved it. 7 kids for 2 yrs.!
They are all very fun to be around. My boyfriend and I have 7 Grandchildren between us, all under 5. THAT is a handful. They weren't all there, one in diapers was missing, and another one was sick. But we made up for it by gathering nieces and nephews. I love children! And I love taking them to old time fun things...and just playing inback yard with the horses, dogs, and dirt.
Thanks for comment!
Jessie
He closes it on Sunday because he is LDS....Sunday is the day of rest I believe. No work, no play...but in my opinion its crazy to close on Sundays. Sunday is the only day that I can attend, so I will go to GF for theirs :) Thank you.
Yep, I realize/remembered that as soon as we pulled up and saw the closed sign. I know the Johns family a bit (have bought hay from them) so I knew they were LDS. It just didn't occur to me to consider that.
But the Jone's patch was fun as you can see.
Thanks for your comment!
