Mountain Home police seek help to find suspect who shot man during dispute over dog

This happened back in October. I happened to be listening to the police scanner that night and I never heard anymore about it until today when the Idaho Statesman posted the below story on their web site.

Seems to be a lot in the news this past year about animal's. I hope they find this guy !

Mountain Home police believe a man who shot another man during a dispute in October over ownership of a dog may be living in the Boise or Caldwell area. The suspect is wanted for aggravated battery.

The victim was shot in the foot; he was treated and released from the hospital.

Police say the suspect, whose nickname is "Morro," is a Hispanic male who is in his late teens or early 20s and has very short cropped hair. He is about 5-foot-8, very thin build and has the words "Old English" tattooed on is chest. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

The whereabouts of the dog are unknown. Mountain Home Police Det. Ron Harmon said the dog may be with the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Harmon at 208-587-2101. Information may be reported anonymously on the Mountain Home Police web site at: www.mhpd.net under the silent witness link.

At the time that this happened, I didn't know what was happening, but I heard the sirens ....

The next day I heard what the issue was. Though I didn't hear it was about a dog. We sure love our dogs huh?

I seen that on the news last night we are the 5th state for the worse laws to protect animals. It would be nice to see are laws change when it comes to the animals. If it does happen I expect that is years down the road.

What about that man in cascade who was fined only a misdemeanor for cutting a dogs throat !! What a creep !

Do you think it's humane for pet owners when they no longer want their pet they take them out and shoot them? I know someone who for many years had a dog and when he decided he no longer wanted the dog, him and his friend sat out in the back yard and sat the dog at the end of their property and used him for target practice. Once he said the dog moved so they had to go back and tie him up better. When he told me that story I could never again look at him the same way I used to. Thank goodness he doesn't live here.... To me another creep !! putting that mildly !

The night it happened I heard it on the scanner, I think it was well after midnight. The talking woke me up. I remember they were checking his house and checking the down town area for him, including looking in the bars. I had no idea what it was about except that someone had been shot.

So much going on lately to do with animals

Jessie

I think there should be a law against this type of behavior. To me that's animal cruelty ! I cannot see how someone can do that to their own pet. To me dogs and cats are part of your family. They are family members. You don't shoot your family members. Well maybe sometimes your tempted to lol !

So, what does anyone/everyone think regarding the man who took the mom dog (who had 2 broken legs) and her pups---all of whom were left to die in the snow for several days---being arrested for grand theft? He goes to Court today and was ordered to return the dogs to the owner prior to Court? From what has been said/printed, the owner gave the dogs up and helped to load them in the SUV to get help/medical care for the animals. What has this world come to. Jessie had it 100% correct with what she said. Sick people. Just sick people.

Anyone who harms an animal should get the same treatment as what they did to that animal. We should be ashamed of our so called laws we have. And that cop who arrested the animal rights guy...he should be booted from office. What a waste!

The last I heard the man that rescued the dog and her pups was giving them back to the irresponsible owner today and also was due in court. I haven't seen any thing on the news today about it nor did the Statesman have anything in the paper about this case. Maybe there will be something on the news tomorrow. Do a good deed and where does it get you? Jail !
