GUN CONTROL DOESN'T WORK!

Disarming innocent people does not protect innocent people!
After every incident involving guns, there are cries from the left for stricter gun control. In one day (Jan. 24) 11 cops were shot! What the heck? Is this crazy or what?

"In just 24 hours, at least 11 officers were shot. The shootings included Sunday attacks at traffic stops in Indiana and Oregon, a Detroit police station shooting that wounded four officers, and a shootout at a Port Orchard, Wash., Wal-Mart that injured two deputies. On Monday morning, two officers were shot dead and a U.S. Marshal was wounded by a gunman in St. Petersburg, Fla.

On Thursday, two Miami-Dade, Fla., detectives were killed by a murder suspect they were trying to arrest."

"It's not a fluke," said Richard Roberts, spokesman for the International Union of Police Associations. "There's a perception among officers in the field that there's a war on cops going on." (Jim Gold-msnbc.com)

I actually heard someone say that it was a plot to get everyone into a frenzy over gun control. Well, that may be alittle too far-fetched for me to believe but you got to admit that things are not looking good, considering the horrible deaths and injuries in the Arizona shooting. Within 24 hours, a democrat was introducing gun legislation. Gun control becomes more hotly debated now more than ever. We must have a balanced debate here! We need for people to see what it's like in other countries with stricter gun laws before emotional voting takes place.

Read the article: With Gun Control; Canadaian Criminals are making a killing at www.personalliberty.com/ It shows that strict gun control doesn't work.

Read Bazookaman's blog where he tells of his Oregon trip where he is confronted by evil criminals ready to do harm on a lonely stretch of highway years ago. Without the right to bear arms, we may have never had the pleasure of knowing this man. He is alive today because he was able to defend himself.

Gun control doesn't work! Disarming innocent people does not protect innocent people! This is a lesson that is still not being learned! If we disarm the American citizen, you give the criminals even more power!

Read your history, people! The Revolutionary War was sparked by the act of British soldiers being dispatched to de-arm the colonists. (April 19, 1775) It was a failed attempt. They were met with resistance by colonists who braved the ocean to live in a country where they would have the right to defend themselves. Over 50 Militiamen met them at Lexington and fought until they retreated. This example alone will tell you what our forefathers thought of gun control.

Almost all the major gun control laws were passed under a Democrat controlled Senate/House or Presidency. They were in control of the White House from 1933 to 1953: Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry Truman. (Source: World Book Encyclopedia)

Major events in our history have always been followed by major gun control laws, such as the Gun Control Act of 1968, which happened shortly after the assassinations of JFK, Bobby Kennedy, and Martin Luther King, Jr. My question at this time is whether that law made a difference? Has crime risen since 1968? Was there a sudden drop in crime afterwards? I think most of you know the answer to that.

Well, at least there is still come sanity left in this country. "On Jan. 19 a Fresno Superior Court judge ruled that a California law that would have banned mail order ammunition sales and required all purchases of so-called "handgun ammunition" to be registered was unconstitutionally vague. The law was set to take effect Feb. 1, and the ruling means the burdensome and ill-conceived restrictions on the sales of ammunition will not be enforced." (Ammunition Ban Struck Down by Court-Personal Liberty Digest) All I can say is Thank God, Amen.

I Disagree. Gun control works well. It works fantastically well for tyranical governments, predatory criminals, gestapo police agencies, and career politicians with free, heavily-armed secutity guards.

Control works very well just look at how many times every time there is a shooting some idiot jumps up and wants more control so the law bidding citizen loses their rights and the crimnals get to do as they please with guns and we can't protect ourselves. Then once they do shoot people they have to be insane cause they shot so many people, just like the idiot in Ariz that planned he whole deal and left them wounded or dead. They should have the needle ready for that clown, no doubt who did the shooting.

Gun control isn't about guns...it's about control.

Interesting that the gunman at Arizona shooting was taken down and stopped due to a legally-armed citizen. It's a shame that he had went into the store for something or as he said, he would have been right there and quicker to stop the crazy gunman. I loved this guy & worried that he would be a target for those who oppose the right to carried a gun. I feared that they would come up with a way to discredit him and it would backfire in his face so that he was no longer a hero. I am so happy that didn't happen! He was there as soon as he heard the bullets and he didn't hesitate to put his life into danger to protect others. I say that we would've been far better off if the majority of that crowd had been armed. All it would've taken is a quick shot to the shoulder or leg to put the guy down, while others came forward to hold him down.

But you just wait. Some liberal politician like Chuck Schumer will jump up shortly and try to fill his agenda and introduce some other bill(s) to hamper or restrict the rest of us.

Keep your eyes & ears open. It'll happen.

Zook,

Do you know any successful dictators? I don't. Even in the most oppressed societies, the dick tater get's fried in the end.

Well, there's Khadafi, certainly Castro....Kim Il Jung of N. Korea, whoever is running China (the photos of the tanks in Tiananmen Square still stands out in my memory), TODAY's China with its sweat shops and human rights violations, Saddam Hussein was not that long ago, as history goes.

Most of the world's dictators HAVE been disposed of, but NOT before inflicting the horrors of oppression, beatings and in many cases, genocide.

That ALONE, is reason enough for our people to stand FIRM on our second amendment. It remains the ONLY amendment in our Constitution that GUARENTEES we'll always have the rest of them.

And that's something that seriously bothers many in Washington.

FEAR THE GOVERNMENT THAT FEARS YOUR GUNS.

An honest, just, and "by the people"----"for the people"----"of the people"............type of government need never be CONCERNED about an armed citizenry.

There's a REASON that stems from the U.N.-DOWN, why they want us disarmed if they can ever make it happen.

And it has NOTHING TO DO with "crime prevention."

It all means nothing, if they won't eliminate the murderers.

You would think the Mayor of NYC would have enough to do cleaning his own door step without going to other States.

The mayor of New York is a liberal-------it's in his job description to stcik his nose into things that don't concern him...........and its part of that "unwritten" oath they all take to dismantle our Constitutuion.

Make GOOD people pay for the rights of the scumbags.

I've lived in Mtn Home for over 20 years. I love my city and my country. Since I am a writer, my decision to blog here seemed appropriate. I enjoy acting so I've been blessed with the opportunity to work on some independent films and with Prairie Dog Productions and Bogus Creek Ranch. I hope that something I have to write about has some value for others or just amuses someone.
