Computer Crash

Posted Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at 8:11 AM

You haven't seen a blog from me in far too long. And many think that I haven't had much to say. Not true. I've been overwhelmed with things to say. However, my computer suffered an assault. Sadly, it couldn't withstand it and I witnessed a virus take-over. I was locked out of everything as it told me with every click that the virus had infected it. So I had to enlist the help of friends to seek out and destroy the invaders. Once we thought we had found, bound and killed it, another would takes it's place. It felt like a computer coup and I was being overthrown and gagged. Luckily, when I thought that I would have to wipe out the entire hard-drive and start fresh, a break-through occurred and I became the ruler of my computer domain again. Like a political prisoner, I was cut off from the online people. Now, I feel liberated! Thanks to all my friends who helped.

I have also been very busy working on a screenplay and organizing a cast and crew to shoot an indie film. This has been an exhaustive process but exciting as well. Our film will be shot primarily in our own Mtn Home area. It will be a wonderful experience so wish us the greatest exclamations of "break-a-leg"!

I praise the people of America who have stepped forward this past year to proclaim their disapproval of the path taken by the new President and his Congress. I am seeing amazing feats of heroism everywhere. My faith in the strength of the American people has been restored. We will get out country back, though it will be limping and wounded from bad politics. None-the-less, it will be our country again. Thank God! Great to be a part of the process.

Glad to see ya back, Kim!

State of the Union tonight, so be sure to wear some hip boots!

(They actually should call it "state of the ONION", 'cause it's sure to bring tears to the eyes and wallets).

Yes Kim, great to see you back! Sorry to hear about your computer. Funny, my husband has been fixing mine as well due to "tracking cookies." Funny how those little buggers work. Welcome back Kim!

Isn't that one of the ways the left wing extemists were supposed to launch a terrorist attatck...Through cyberspace? It was only the right wing tea partiers that were the violent ones. Just a thought..good to have you back

-- Posted by mhbouncer on Wed, Jan 27, 2010, at 3:19 PM

Of COURSE we're the "violent ones", Bouncer, we're Pelosi's "NAZI'S", remember?

Hey Bro............."State of the Onion" starts in just over an hour..............hope ya got your BOOTS on!

-- Posted by bazookaman on Wed, Jan 27, 2010, at 5:41 PM

Was it just me, or was the only thing I got out of the speech last night was contradictions and blame...blame...blame everything else but him/current administration?

-- Posted by clam chowder on Thu, Jan 28, 2010, at 6:37 AM

I am totally ashamed to admit that I didn't watch. Reason being that I knew that he, the Prince of Peace had nothing to say. I didn't want to subject myself to a source of anger and disgust. I am so tired of the blah-blah-blah! I knew that I could get the idea of the crap that he would be flinging from watching all the commenters. So I gave myself a few hours peace and watched a movie. I'm glad I did, though I still feel alittle ashamed.

He couldn't have done it BETTER! Obama's speech last night was MAGNIFICENT!

With the "Princess" jumping up and down like a "jack-in-the-box" leading her leftwing cheering section...............And Joe Biden nodding his head like the little fake dog in the back of a '56 Chevy, the "Annointed One" tried to baffle everyone again, as he did during the election.

Thinking EVERYBODY in this country is as gullible as the half that originally elected him, he spun his tales of woe and intrigue, trying to sprinkle the little bags of magic dust as he went. (the bags are almost empty now----he just doesn't know it).

Still blaming Bush, (no surprise here, really), he wisely kept beating the drum for his Obamacare that the majority DON'T WANT. This was GOOD...........for our side.

He must think we're all mentally defective and don't remember ANYTHING.............

He "lectured and scolded" Republicans for not being bi-partison, but conveniently never mentions that they were kept OUT of the bill discussions.

Nancy led the applause as he condemned government waste, but she probably hasn't finished unwrapping the souveniers from her Copenhagen Holiday, and the engines on her new 757 were probably still warm when the speech began.

The left side of the House yielded a thundering ovation as he gritted his teeth and vowed to eliminate the lobbyists and special interests. Does that mean he's gonna fire about half of his cabinet and all of his Czars?

He "hated bank bailouts"............but he did it anyway.

He again hammered on "transparency", and "doing our work OPENLY," but never explained all of these "behind closed door deals", and you'll notice that Louisiana and Nebraska never came up.

Princess Pelosi was AGAIN on her feet, leading the cheer with her imaginary "pom-poms" as he vowed to eliminate earmarks------as he did during his campaign............"Nutty Nancy" must have forgotten that her "messiah" signed a stimulous bill that contained a few earmarks too...........8,570 of them!

(If the cameras could have seen it, her feet were probably tightly together as she jumped up and down, tears in her eyes, thinking to herself---"Oh what a WONDERFUL man this is!")

His stimulous has "created 2 million jobs." Where? And a "saved" job doesn't count as a NEW ONE CREATED.

He called for a job bill "on his desk immediately." What for?...........the "stimulous is working", isn't it? (yet we now seem to need ANOTHER one).

He's gonna take tax companies that moved their businesses overseas. Why does he think they moved out to begin with?

He doesn't "accept 2nd place"................I don't think we're THAT high today. Do You?

He's promoting off-shore drilling now. Bush wanted to do that when he first took office, but the congressional Democrats BLOCKED it, if you recall. Something about the elk and carribou..............

"It's our DESTINY to help all beyond our shores". Where does it stipulate that in our Constitution?

"We're gonna enforce immigration laws." Is that Before or AFTER we grant amnesty to the ones already here?

He went after the Republicans for saying "NO" as often as they do...........well, who in their right mind would sign bills they never got to see, just because the "speaker" said it was ok to do so? Of COURSE you'd say NO!! Let me see what's IN that, as I might have some questions.

"We will double exports over the next five years." What does he think he's gonna send out of here? If we started exporting liberals and illegals, that would be ok.

"If anybody has a better idea, I'm eager to hear it."---------MORE LIES from the side that has shut out, ignored and dis-regarded an ENTIRE PARTY from their meetings! How do you "hear" ideas from the other side of closed doors?

SECURITY---------"We will do what it takes to protect our nation." Like giving Miranda Rights to terrorists, civilian trials for enemy combatants and beach cottages in Bermuda. Our new incoming senator from Massachusetts said it best......"We need to DEFEAT terrorists, not DEFEND them!"

"We will work to reduce corruption in the Afghanistan government."-----------how about we start with THIS government first?

"Don't ask-don't tell" in the military. If you've never served in uniform, you cannot BEGIN to know the dissention and unrest this causes--------BUT, I guess he had to say SOMETHING to appease the gays out there who are mad at him for broken campaign promises.

"Largest increases for Veterans" under his administration------------is THAT SO?

In BLATANT "blasphemy", he aligned himself with Reagan on dealing with the Russians and other rogue countries over the "nuke" situation-------------don't EVEN go there, you might fool the high school kids, but not the rest of us.

To his CREDIT, Obama DID finally use the term "terrorist", (probably just somebody trying to hack into his teleprompter----he'll catch hell from the Muslim world later, on that).

Overall..........it was a GREAT speech! His continuing arrogance, passion to blame Bush, blindly continuing to push for the healthcare nobody wants--------------staying the course. I was actually afraid he might try to move in a direction the people would embrace.

This is GOOD that he ISN'T trying to stave off that which is already costing his party some seats.

I remember the altered bumper stickers that were modified from OBAMA to NOBAMA............far as I'm concerned now................it's GO-BAMA!!

And keep on going.............right on out the door, and take your cohorts with you!

I actually LIKED what I heard last night! His numbers are falling through the floor, and he hasn't learned a FRIGGIN' THING!!

And November's comin'!!

-- Posted by bazookaman on Thu, Jan 28, 2010, at 8:02 AM

Politicians are simply used car salesman that get a get-out-of-jail free card. Being too honest or straight forward equals getting about 7 votes. No one wants to hear cold, hard truth. The point is that this speech was just more salesmanship. Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Carter were salesmen as well. Speeches are not essays. They are meant to conjure emotions and get the crowd riled up.

-- Posted by twilcox1978 on Thu, Jan 28, 2010, at 8:22 AM

Except this administration seems to think they really need to save us from ourselves more than anybody else ever has. (for no other reason than their own agenda though)

-- Posted by clam chowder on Thu, Jan 28, 2010, at 10:35 AM

Salesmanship is one thing. Accomplishments are yet another. Reagan's accomplishments gave him 49 of 50 states on the re-election, and the United States was never more respected before or since.

Ya have to "walk the walk", and "Uncle Ronnie" DID. Both Bushes were weak. At least Clinton WAS smart enough to follow a good congress when HE signed bills.

Carter was the 2nd worst president we've ever had. Nixon lied, but at LEAST had the decency to resign for the good of the country. Ford played terrible golf.

JFK was good.......maybe a little TOO good, and got shot for it. LBJ was a joke, and a very weak leader.

Bush Senior was the beginning of the downslide that has never stopped, and it's gonna take some testocerone to get it turned around, if it's not too late already.

And Congress HAS TO GO............20, 30 and 40 years is WAY too long. I wouldn't think this should be rocket science..............if you KEEP re-electing the SAME bums term after term, and things continue to get WORSE term after term, wouldn't that be SOME KIND of indication that maybe we need to FIRE a bunch of these people?

If you were a business owner and had some employees who only lied and stole from you, you'd can THEM.......right?

Well...........who do THESE bureaucrats work for? Come November, the BOSS (US)......needs to pull timecards out of the clock.

Goes back to the old adage..........."If you DO what you've always DONE...................

Obama didn't fool anybody but himself last night.

-- Posted by bazookaman on Thu, Jan 28, 2010, at 10:56 AM

OOPS....sorry 'bout that...........I didn't mean to post it twice!

-- Posted by bazookaman on Thu, Jan 28, 2010, at 11:05 AM

Argue all that you want but political speeches are not meant to factual, objective, logical, or unbiased. They are designed to persuade. They are more advertisement than substance. Reagan was guilty of this too. Being too frank or blunt alienates people. People despise cold, hard truth. I get my cynical view from working on the phone for three years. I was regarded as the worst customer service agent there. Why? Because I did not give fake apologies, flowery but phony endorsements, nor did I leave any room for misinterpretation. Political speeches are meant to be general and somewhat vague. I just am stumped as to why smart, discerning, bright individuals are paying such close attention to them. They know that its simple advertisement but they hang on every word. I have seen enough examples on here of people thinking for themselves and not buying into advertisement so why now?

-- Posted by twilcox1978 on Thu, Jan 28, 2010, at 1:03 PM

"We have the greatest opportunity the world has ever seen, as long as we remain honest -- which will be as long as we can keep the attention of our people alive. If they once become inattentive to public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors would all become wolves." --Thomas Jefferson

"I think we risk becoming the best informed society that has ever died of ignorance." --Rueben Blades

-- Posted by Bluebird77 on Thu, Jan 28, 2010, at 1:25 PM

Sometimes people pay the attention to speeches that they do, is so as to catch these guys in the LIES proven by their actions, or lack thereof.

Then, when you have to deal with the "Ex-Intern Mikes" and "Censoreds' of this world, it makes it a lot tougher for them to DEFEND their "heroes."

As for substance, I was on that Lakenheath flightline for the nuke upload on "Ronnie's" Inauguration Day..............no rhetoric or saber-rattling involved. Iran turned 'em loose IMMEDIATELY.

Khadafi was a good boy for YEARS after HIS butt-kicking. Jobs were up, economy was up, world respect was ours once again, and Mr Gorbechev DID "tear down that wall."

I'd classify that under the definition of "substance."

-- Posted by bazookaman on Thu, Jan 28, 2010, at 2:47 PM

About those events that you spoke of, you do know that are the formulative actions and decisions occurred away from the public eye. The speech was simply to help his approval ratings. These negotiations were done behind closed doors. We can argue til the Cows come home but all known credible sources will show that the Berlin Wall's demise had nothing to do with Russia or its leaders.

I dont listen to speeches to be informed or learn. They are simple entertainment and not all that different from Vince McMahon on WWE spouting off his garbage.

My history prof. brought up a good point today. In the Old Roman empire, leading scholars would write these grand speeches that were either fully in support of one person or another. There was no room for give and take. The person that they were writing about was divine and without flaw. The other person would criticize their every move and breath. Giving no thought that this emperor or topic is simply mostly bad not completely. Sounds like Olbermann versus Beck. Both are so entrenched on their respective sides that they simply sound like idiots.

-- Posted by twilcox1978 on Thu, Jan 28, 2010, at 4:42 PM

OMG..here we go again. Twil you've been down this road before about whether Reagan and the Russians had anything to do with the fall of the Wall.

As for the crap from last night, I didn't get to watch either. I had to work, sad as it may seems but I still have a family to support. You are wrong though Twil. Last night wasn't a political speech. It was never meant to be. It is a constitutional mandate that the president give a synopsis of the status of the nation. Yes, in the past most every president has used it for a stump to launch his vision for the nation. The State of the Union address is meant to be a platfrom to tell the populace where we are and where we need to go. Last night was a campaign speech pure and simple. The man was elected over a year ago. In that year he has tripled the national debt, is in the process of figuring out ways to raise your taxes, has apologized to nearly everyone in the world for you and I being Americans, tried to ram nationalized healthcare down your throat, has bailed out banks and taken partial government control of two automakers. Tell me the truth Twil, is your life any better than it was before Barry was elected? Do you see it getting any better over the remaining 3 years of this administration?

I foresee my paycheck getting smaller, my employer getting taxed more which will in turn make him raise prices and/or lay people off, amnesy for millions of illegal immigrants who will in turn apply LEGALLY for welfare. I do have hope now that the right is starting a movement to take back enough seats in congress to make it a fair fight on issues such as cap and trade and healthcare. Should be great entertainment to see if the Dems actually DO reach across the aisle and try to work with the republicans for a TRUE compromise on the more serious issues such as jobs. All we have to do is vote the bums out.

Speaking of, bazooka, did you see where HB 391 got out of comittee and is up for vote in the full house here in Idaho. It pretty much tells the federal government to stay the hell out of states rights when it comes to healthcare. Good job to those in OUR congress that beleive in our sovereignty.

REAL good job. SOMEBODY in this state is trying to look out for us.

Personally, I'd like to see the full extent of the 10th Amendment employed, and see our state SECEDE from the Union altogether.

We don't need federal funds, but more than THAT, THEY don't need anymore of our tax dollars. If we seceeded, our state tax dollars, road taxes, etc...............WOULD be used for IDAHO.......NOT to shore up Louisiana, Nebraska and whatever OTHER backdoor deals those jackals back there come up with.

More than that, we'd be free of government interference and wouldn't have to absorb all the nutty crap they come up with back east, or out in California, which all seems to eventually "cancer" its way up here.

We could enforce our OWN immigration laws and throw the illegals OUT as well.

We haven't been the "United" states for quite awhile now.

Up FRONT...........RIGHT UP FRONT......so there's no mistake.............I do NOT, nor have I EVER supported those cross-burning nutjobs up at Hayden Lake, but they DID have ONE idea that, with a different twist, that DOES sound ok to me.

They wanted to have their own area in this country for "whites only", which is clerly racist-----and stupid too (there's a lot of whites I wouldn't want to live around).

It'll never happen of course, but can you imagine a portion of this country for Liberals Only and another one for Conservatives Only?

Neither faction would have to "endure" the other. To me anyway, THAT would be UTOPIA!

The government would stay out of our lives when it came to ANYTHING. They would just run the lives of the liberals, who embrace more and bigger government anyway.

-- Posted by bazookaman on Fri, Jan 29, 2010, at 8:10 AM

ps..........I apologize for all the typo's this morning. Been fighting a very bad cold the last couple of days and didn't sleep well last night.

-- Posted by bazookaman on Fri, Jan 29, 2010, at 8:15 AM

Ok, lets lay it out. I am not one of Obama's followers. I do not endorse his every move. I have blabbered on enough about govt. borrowing to show that I am not in favor of it. Yes, I know the rules about a State of the Union address. The point is that this is not meant to be factual.

"Last night was a campaign speech pure and simple". I just shake my head when people take it as gospel and cant read between the lines. Campaign speech, State of the State, State of the Union, etc. are designed to be superficial. It would kill his approval ratings to be blunt, honest, and humble. To report mistakes on his and his parties behalf would be monumentally dumb. Enough said, To each their own but I take speeches with a grain of salt knowing that there are only slivers of truth in them (No matter the party or leader).

In short, if it was up to me I would not have bailed out/taken over the automakers. It is the companies fault and the Union's as well that they have failed. As for banks, I am not sure about that one. Simply stated, I think that the actions taken have been short sighted. On the other hand, I am not ignorant enough to think that this all happens in a vacuum. I just play devil's advocate and call into question those who dont see the whole picture.

-- Posted by twilcox1978 on Fri, Jan 29, 2010, at 8:45 AM

Twil, you strike me as more of a Libertarian? Yes? No?

-- Posted by bazookaman on Fri, Jan 29, 2010, at 8:52 AM

I guess it comes down to my having Be-Like-Me syndrome. I try not to criticize something or campaign for change unless I know both sides of the story. How it works and Why people do it are just as important as why it should be changed? Its a bit unrealistic on my part to expect people to examine the issue before one goes on the crusade.

Libertarian... From what little I just read about it, I would say that its a fair description. I would need to investigate it a bit more. I think of myself as a mix of old-fashioned values and some new but thats always up for debate.

"Government spending was actually a slight drag on growth in the fourth quarter: A small increase in federal spending was outweighed by a drop in state and local spending."

This is a quote from an AP report about economic growth. It is called crowding out. With limited funds, excessive govt. spending squeezes out other transactions. There is no indication that this trend will stop either. The forecast is for govt. spending to increase. The biggest part of the increase is going to be in in-kind transfers. This means propping up the consumer sector in direct, quantifiable payments. There will be a time when this assistance wont be possible.

-- Posted by twilcox1978 on Fri, Jan 29, 2010, at 10:51 AM

Ahh but Twil, that is EXACTLY what the State of the Union address (not speech) is supposed to be. Blunt, honest and to the point. A review of where our nation is and what we need to do to keep it a great nation.

Actually having fun watch the Republicans slowly roast the president in Maryland right now. They ask questions that are direct and on point and he weasles his way around and either shuts down the represenative during the question OR he lectures them on how they are wrong and his policies are right. Be great to pull it up on youtube later and watch it all over again.

-- Posted by mhbouncer on Fri, Jan 29, 2010, at 11:13 AM

I saw a little bit of that myself today, Bouncer.

Ever seen the movie "Best Little Whorehouse In Texas? If so, that session today reminded me of that scene in the Governor's Mansion in Austin where the governor does that little sidestep dance, singing "cut a little swath and lead the people on."

-- Posted by bazookaman on Fri, Jan 29, 2010, at 12:23 PM

I also think that ANY speech, especially in front of a national audience, should be from the heart, so people know exactly where you stand. You need to say what you mean and mean what you say, because people WILL take you to task on it.

EXAMPLE............if old Bazookaman here was to get on just one of these LOCAL blogs and say something like......"all blacks and Mexicans are lazy, and steal"...............FIFTEEN people would be on my case like ugly on an ape! I'd probably get rocks tossed through my windows and would be banned forever from this site..............and rightfully so.

Whether I MEANT it or not is a moot point. I do NOT mean that of course, but folks WILL hold your feet to the fire..............especially if you're somebody like the President.

Things are tougher in this country than they've been since the crash of '29.............WORSE actually, because even in 29, the Constitution wasn't under siege as well.

This particular "state of the Union" was extremely important, and a lot of people........especially those who are out of work.....were hanging on to every word that came out of his mouth.

That's why the majority of listeners took what he said to the bank............(pardon the bad pun).

Basically................"We're in deep s--t Mr President................and we're all gathered around the television tonight to find out what you guys going to do!"

The answers NEEDED to be factual. If we wanted rhetoric, entertainment and confusion, we can always listen to Gibbs.

The same is true during a campaign, even MORESO.........when a candidate is after MY vote, I don't want to be entertained by "feel-good" slogans. This guy wants me to entrust HIM with my tax dollars, and the well-being of the country my kids and grandkids are going to "inherit" (there's that word again!).

He's trying to convince me why I should NOT vote for the other guy.

I don't like being lied to, nor do I know anyone who DOES. So when this chucklehead WINS, I EXPECT him (and so should we all), to DO what he promised. If "not raising taxes" for example, is actually beyond a president's control, then DON'T tell me you're going to do that just to get my vote...............I never bought that anyway, but there are 52% out there who DID.

It was a slick move on his part, becasue they might not take more "witholding", but they ARE taxing in more and more OTHER areas as we go along. And they have not, and WILL NOT cut their OWN frivilous spending. Just ask Fancy Nancy.

What I thought was the BIGGEST slap in the face was his campaign promise to do things out in the open............TRANSPARENCY, he called it.

They operate completely behind closed doors and strong-arm their people to hurry up and sign things they never read, they do all of this "under-the-table" crap............and then Obama comes on Tuesday night and has the gall to preach "transparency" again.

How blind and STUPID does he think we all are?

During the campaign, this magical "community organizer" and "uniter" promises to "reach across the aisles."-----------reality: The Republicans are SHUT OUT of the process.

Now............not only do the Dems have the NERVE to blame Republicans for not introducing THEIR versions of things (while the doors are SHUT to the GOP), but Obama once AGAIN on Tuesday night, preaches "bi-partisonship".....as if it MEANT something.

No, I don't care what speeches are "intended" to be.............if you're out there trying to get my vote for election or RE-election, you'd better talk straight and clean, 'cause there's a whole bunch of us out here who will hold you to it, come ballot time.

-- Posted by bazookaman on Sat, Jan 30, 2010, at 6:27 AM

Hey...........remember I said that this administration has learned NOTHING??

Obama is now asking for 200 million to find and make provisions to move the terrorist trials from downtown NYC to someplace else.

He and Holder are STILL intent on giving these guys their "RIGHTS"..............the thought of sending them back to GITMO to face a Military Tribunal has still never occurred to either of them!

Now he wants 200 million MORE of our tax dollars to bring these SELF-ADMITTED, ALLAH-BOUND, KILL AMERICAN INFIDELS into yet another civilian court venue.

I was out at the gunshop today. .357 Magnum ammo is still running around 65 cents a round. Now if Obama was really SERIOUS about cutting the deficit......................

I'm glad this ain't 1941..........any Jap pilots fished out of the water at Pearl would be given a lawyer and the ACLU would make sure he had HIS rights.

This is stupid. THIS one guy alone is responsible for more Americans dying than the Japanese killed on December 7th..............and Obama/Holder want TWO HUNDRED MILLION (that WE don't have) to give these animals a "safe haven" and a "fair trial" that they're already predicting might go on for TWO YEARS!

KSM and his buddies can thank "ALLAH" that the old Bazookaman here isn't one on their prison guards. I'd just save us ALL KINDS OF TAX MONEY!

Hey.......Hey.............even that piece-of-crap CHUCK SCHUMER doesn't want it in "his town"

Man oh man!...........when even dirtbags like SCHUMER can see this for the travesty it is...................and OBAMA now wants 200 million MORE from you and I, to "treat these guys right", and give them a chance they never gave 3,000 New Yorkers.

Obama needs to be impeached immediately, If there's any justice left in this country.

YO!...........Dave Thompson, aka "Mr Reference"..........you still out there among us?

Got one for ya, courtesy of the CATO Institute, a Libertarian-based think-tank, and you'll find it under

-- Posted by bazookaman on Sun, Jan 31, 2010, at 7:15 AM

I might be wrong. (please let me know if i am) But doesn't the president have to sign the execution orders if they are sentenced to death by military tribunal?

If so, that would explain why he wants a civilian trial. Fellow muslims are not supposed to take the life of other fellow muslims.

-- Posted by clam chowder on Sun, Jan 31, 2010, at 8:50 AM

THAT my friend.............is a very interesting thought.

And I believe you're correct about the signature.

-- Posted by bazookaman on Sun, Jan 31, 2010, at 2:57 PM

.............and if that IS the case, he's gonna dig himself in even DEEPER with the voters.

No matter what side of the aisle one is on, this country is in such a crisis right now, I don't think this TWO HUNDRED MILLION dollar move to give this 9/11 mastermind his "rights" is gonna set well with ANYBODY right now.

This isn't by any means a liberal vs conservative issue. The Twin Towers were loaded with Republicans, Democrats and Independents.

I'll bet if you took a poll right now, just about EVERYBODY would be in favor of my "65-cent solution."

I'd like to think so, anyway.

200 MILLION more!------------I could put some of that to good use, couldn't YOU?

Does anyone remember what George W's first and last State of the Union Address was about?

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Sun, Jan 31, 2010, at 7:24 PM

No, but I'm sure he also rambled on for an hour and said nothing.

HE was a knucklehead too, and I cannot see where we've gained anything, if anything, we have REGRESSED.

There's been no leadership in the Oval Office for about 22 years now, and no reason at the moment to believe that's gonna change anytime soon.

George Bush's ineptness is a prime reason Obama is running things today. And his dad wasn't any better.

-- Posted by bazookaman on Sun, Jan 31, 2010, at 8:15 PM

I listened a little bit to talk radio which I never ever do, and Rush L was sort of comparing Obama's and George W'S State of the Union Address's.

He didn't go into detail about the speech's and I can't remember any of George W'S speech's I thought maybe someone else might remember a little. I guess I can do an online search for them.... Thanks

Although I think Limbaugh is correct about 80% of the time, he has 2 major falacies in my book. First of all, he talks about HIMSELF a little too much.........and 2, he never met a Republican he didn't like.

To be sure, Rush IS a patriotic American and he wants America to be what it once was, like a lot of us do, but I think also, that he TOO unfortunately, is one of these people who walk into a voting booth and fill in EVERY circle that has an (R) in it, as most Democrats do within THEIR party.

Instead of challenging McCain on a lot of HIS leftwing views, Limbaugh zealously poured accalades on him all through the campaign. He has a HUGE rightwing audience and could have influenced a lot of voters to go with somebody ELSE in the primaries, like Huckabee, Romney or Paul, any of which would have been better than the "RINO" McCain.

He also went to bat for Bush far too often, when he SHOULD have been admonishing him.

Hannity and O'Reilly at least, will have libs on their shows to get both sides.

Glenn Beck will go after ANYBODY who doesn't follow our Constitution, REGARDLESS of party affiliation, and so will Michael Savage.

I wouldn't take everything Rush says to the bank. And Bush's State of the Union speeches don't mean anything either, if he didn't follow through with matching deeds to support them.

As far as I'm concerned, George Bush was worthless.........BOTH of 'em! Just like Clinton was and Obama is.

If Mike Huckabee runs in 2012, he will have my full support.

Hell, if I had the money and backing, I MYSELF would run in 2012. I believe in our Constitution (ALL of it), being a combat vet, I KNOW the needs of our troops, and I can even PROVE I was BORN HERE!

I don't lie to people, do under-the-table deals with anybody, or..................oops, I'm disqualified already. Oh well.

State of the Union is basic lip service. It kind of reminds me of the back of a newly published book. The short but ever so positive spin and then some lame endorsements and then praise. The age of advertisement is in full swing. Maybe that's why no one can handle some simple, plain, cold, hard truth.

Savage goes a bit too far. Politics, I guess he's ok but on social topics the guy is as ignorant as humanly possible. Beck is OK but is short sighted as well. But to his defense, It is TV and television is about being over-the-top, eye-catching, and selling a product. I dont buy that he does not take cues from studio execs. Yes, his opinions are his own but he is not in full control of the production that we see on TV. He still has to play it up and exaggerate things.

About the 9/11 issue, Obama is not the only input in this issue. The number of individuals involved in this gets deep and convoluted. Sure, he has the power to make some things happen but his control is not absolute. If you are to impeach him then so should go all of the other idiots involved. No one should a get out of jail free card.

Absolutely Twil! ALL these idiots need to go, and no party preference either! And I've advocated that time and again.

Which is also the reason I've occasionally said it will take a 2nd American Revolution to "git'er done", as the Cable Guy would say.

I'm ready. BEEN ready.

Saw a quote from the leadership of the republicans in Idaho saying they are gonna target Minnick to get him out of conress...what a bad idea....a democrat that actually LISTENS to his voters and votes the way they want him too...FAR more centrist than the republican he replaced. We actually have a democrat that gives his party the finger and votes his conscience. Following some sound advice from Beck, vote for the person and not the party. As long as Minnick is upfront and honest, votes for what is right, not what his party wants him to will always get my vote.

What do you all think of the new elected Republican Senator of Mass. He's been seen in a centerfold lol ! He has already spoken about abortion and he isn't sitting in congress yet !

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Mon, Feb 1, 2010, at 9:14 PM

OMG...a centerfold....wasn't this fodder when Sarah posed in a bikini with a gun? A smart, sexy, republican female who owns guns....that musta given all those liberal FITS....lol.

-- Posted by mhbouncer on Mon, Feb 1, 2010, at 10:15 PM

And why do you suppose Scott Brown ISN'T sitting in Congress yet?

Ted Kennedy's body was still warm in the grave when COAXLEY THE DEMOCRAT was sworn in................could it be that potential BLOCKING VOTE before they can push through this unwanted healthcare thing?

Double standards all the way, baby!

As for Sarah in the bikini/gun pose, I think THEIR side is just jealous, Bouncer. Hell, could you picture Feinstein, Boxer, Pelosi or Napolitano in a swimsuit? Would you even WANT to?

These pompous "elitists" have even picked on Brown for his old pickup truck. I hope he drives it to D.C. on a regular basis and parks it between every Mercedes and BMW he sees in that parking lot/garage, or whatever they have.

I'd park it on the White House lawn if it was MINE! Just so Obama could look out the window and be reminded of the COMMON FOLKS who still live in this country.

We need to not lose focus or momentum in this country between now and November.....double check the voting records on BOTH sides of the aisle, and TOSS THESE BUMS OUT!!

Walt Minnick seems to vote as an IDAHOAN...........not a party member. As long as he does, he'll get MY vote!

-- Posted by bazookaman on Tue, Feb 2, 2010, at 9:01 AM

I voted for Minnick back in 1996 and the most recent time. I cant quantify this with evidence but I like that he seems to be less of a salesman. If he does not know enough, he does not blow smoke. So far, I have liked what I have read about him and his decisions.

Thanks for the thought of Pelosi in a bikini, Bazooka...now gonna go was my brain with steel wool and soap..LOL!!!

-- Posted by mhbouncer on Tue, Feb 2, 2010, at 4:02 PM

Walt Minnick knows he was elected to work for IDAHO. He also knows it isn't easy for a Democrat to get elected in a hardcore Republican state, like this one.

Unless he's a fool, he knows that if he does a good job for us, no Republican is gonna come along and unseat him.

Cecil Andrus knew that too. He also won handily everytime HE ran.

When you DO what the voters send you IN there to do, your party affiliation isn't important come election time.

For the record, my main discontent with Democrats stems with the their party platforms and agendas, not with all the Democrats themselves, because there ARE some good ones out there.

Nor do I blindly support Republicans, one and all, because there are some of THEM who do not support the conservative base.

Again, I like Walt Minnick, and I don't care that he IS a Democrat. He's representing IDAHO, not the DNC, and he's doing what we sent him to D.C. to do. These would-be "Republicans" out there who seek his demise are wrong, and what's more, they're STUPID.

These are the same fools I've written about so often, who walk into the booths and would vote for Charles Manson, as long as he had an {R} after his name.....as most Democrats have traditionally done.

We need to always vote for the candidate's track record, not his party flavor.

Sorry Bouncer...............that "Pelosi in a bikini" thing...........that WAS in bad taste!

-- Posted by bazookaman on Tue, Feb 2, 2010, at 7:18 PM

Yo Bouncer.............looks like the weather is finally lettin' up a little around here. I was actually able to get out a do a little "22" sight-in yesterday, which as you know, is a "fair-weather" caliber.

I recently bought Donna a new Ruger 10/22 with the dark gray laminated stock. Jay installed a 3x9 Simmons on it, and I've been biding my time waiting for it to quit raining/snowing/blowing around the plains.

Managed to sneak out yesterday morning when the "Idaho Hurricane Gods" were lookin' the other way, and "got 'er done", as the Cable Guy would say!

So how many rounds did you get off in the 5 minutes there was no wind? I took advantage of the weather and rode my road bike around town. I hate having things that cost good money, sitting around collecting dust. Need to get out my 22 mag and get it ready for whistle pigs. Ohh now I've done it! PETA will be on my tail for saying I like to kill cute, little, fuzzy vermin.

-- Posted by mhbouncer on Wed, Feb 3, 2010, at 10:24 AM

YES! Shame on you! You probably think it's ok to kill rattlesnakes too, gophers, badgers and such!

Ha-ha.....I got off enough rounds to sight it in, along with the Mark II I brought out there with it.

By the time the mid-day breezes started showing up, I had the crosshairs dialed-in. Good to go and I know she'll like it!

That Winchester Commemorative is next.............just as soon as all is "just right."

I've lived in Mtn Home for over 20 years. I love my city and my country. Since I am a writer, my decision to blog here seemed appropriate. I enjoy acting so I've been blessed with the opportunity to work on some independent films and with Prairie Dog Productions and Bogus Creek Ranch. I hope that something I have to write about has some value for others or just amuses someone.
