1. Acorn, from Louisiana, gets 1 million taxpayer dollars for fire safety instead of the fire departments! How the heck did that happen when Congress voted to de-fund them.
2. Oh and that Acorn official who stole millions of our money! Where is he? Is he in jail? Does he have to pay it back? Will any of those Acorn people who registered Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck to vote go to jail? What about all of the Dallas Cowboys that Acorn people registered? What have the football team done about it? Shouldn't that be identity theft? Isn't that against the law? 3. We've had our troops in the Afghan war for 8 years! Too many killed and the President can't seem to stay focused enough to talk to his top military people. We need a true Commmander-in-Chief. WEll, today he is gathering them together. 4. I wonder, if the President had been focusing on our war strategy, instead of trying to get the Olympics in Chicago last week, if some of these deaths of our soldiers could have been averted? Maybe if he had made some great decisions with his top guys and those had changed some orders, well, maybe, just maybe those dead would now be alive. Of course, we could always play what if, couldn't we? 5. On a great note-I think that it is wonderful that our medical soldiers are treating people free of charge in Afghan. They are doing a great things there. Why is this on my list? I guess because it is hard to like the fact that our brave military are over there getting killed so hearing some of the good things that they are doing helps. Those people being treated by our doctors and nurses would never get any medical attention otherwise. Their lives are changed. 6. Great Changes-people like me who were never involved with politics are suddenly becoming involved. We have awaken from many years of slumber to raise our voices everywhere. Townhall meetings are full of people awake and asking questions. It is amazing!!!!! I am so proud of all of the sleepwalkers who are now politically awake! 7. Another wonderful thing for my list-Positive things-Congressmen who are demanding that the bills be posted online before they can be voted on. Yeah! Some Democrates are good people. Over 150 of them oppose it! 8. I am majorly P-O-ed about that war veteran cross that had stood proudly in the desert for a long time but has now been "boxed" to cover it. Oh no, we don't want to offend anyone, now do we. This is a horrible injustice! We can have weird and strange art displayed everywhere, even offensive art, but a simple white cross has to be covered up! What about the rights of those who find comfort from it? Why are their rights not important? 9. Is the swine flu a real danger or is it becoming a real freedom-danger because it can be used to be a means to an end? 10. Unemployment still high. Cost of living too high! And the stimulus didn't stimulate! There ya go. My top 10 things that I am thinking about today. I've lived in Mtn Home for over 20 years. I love my city and my country. Since I am a writer, my decision to blog here seemed appropriate. Oh, we agree THERE........it IS time to start "thinning the herd"
The biggest irresponsibility of the people, is not doing their homework, and they continue to re-hire the same foxes to guard the chicken coops.
The "sky is falling", and being wary of, and being prepared to respond to a distrustful government are two different things.
But I like it here Bazooka. I get to irritate people that take things way too seriously. Such as always blaming everything that is wrong with the world on the Obama, while in fact, all the horrible things around have been collectively caused by us the people. It's sad really and a telling sign of a complete lack of maturity that none of us take responsibility for what we all contributed to the downfall of society. It's always someone else that did it we say. "Twern't me that mugged granny-pappy stonebrisk." Even though you were holding hands with said mugger while he was clubbing granny-pappy and rifling through their purses. Sure, you may have protested quietly,.in your head,.but that doesn't stop the crime from happening. And in the end ya had a beer with the criminal, because your flawed logic says -Sure, this guy does some questionable stuff. But he believes that the sky is falling like I do. So he must be a good guy?- All the while granny-pappy stonebrisk blame the government for the moral-less society around them. Not realizing, in their senility, that they raised this society years ago.

Man, the government has been running our "entire freak-in lives" since it's formation. That's what governments do, and it's nothing new. Or are all the laws on the books, pre-Obama, just suggestions?
And onto Free-loaders: I'm glad you cleared up that subject for me and others. I had no idea that all loafers were Canadian and French. Are they here legally? Should we send the militia's to the Canadian Border to protect us from those dastardly French Canadians who hate Capitalism? All these years I thought that their economic systems were based on capitalism like America. I feel like I've been tricked.

Actually, I wasn't calling your freedom to choose to work for the government into question.
Since I've been checking in on your blog, I haven't seen any comments on this blog "bashing" capitalism, and I haven't seen any "praising" socialism, so I had to ask bazookaman what he thought of people who bash socialism, yet make their living off of the peoples taxes.
Apparently, he is unable to field my question. We are in different leagues you know. I guess he made the decision that it was better to let it go on by than to make an attempt and get charged with an error.

Health care workers in the State of New York will be getting the H1N1 vaccine.
The Commissioner provides some good reasoning for their vaccination program. I don't find this program any more menacing than the program in place for those in the service of our country.
Idaho does not mandate vaccinations. Persons for whom vaccine is recommended can choose whether or not to get vaccinated or to vaccinate their children. Requirements for active duty military and other uniformed service members might differ.

Obama is FINALLY talking to our troop commanders because he's been SHAMED into it.

Not to be a party poop-er but why did it take 8 plus years for you to be "awaken"? Capitalism has been used like this since America's birth. I remember another pres who sent out stimulus checks, to us, but did you complain then? Probably only about the taxes, instead of questioning why this other pres was paying off the american people? Why didn't you people question this other administration that put oil lobbyist in control of the EPA? Or protest when the vice presidents "ex-company" was getting no-bid contracts that made him and his buddies millions from war? (war profiteering?) Where were you guys when politicians, for the last 38years were slowly eroding workers rights and thus creating a middle class that is becoming the new poor class and sending our jobs to other countries?
