  • Hitler pretended to be whatever he needed to be. Like the Great Deceiver or an angel of Light. Makes sense that in order to gain the trust of people, he would have to appear to be Christian. When in fact, he became obsessed with the occult. And he overthrew the Catholic hold on the people once he had them more in his power. I think that is were people can be most vulnerable when someone within their faith uses God to further their agenda. I remember Obama's pastor who said he was a Christian, either conservative or fundamental. He got his audience as a pastor. The evil that men do is usually masked by goodness and that's what makes them so dangerous. People should never become so devoted to another person, giving away their power. How many times have we seen that situation become deadly?

  • You know, I am rather involved in public affairs and I have never met anyone who worships this new "Messiah". This seems like someone trying to drum up paranoia and exaggerate things. Everyone has to have a talent for something don't they?

  • Let me just say ..... singing to Obama Praises was one isolated incident where a teacher allowed her class to sing praises to him. We still have not heard any more on what the NJ School District has to say about this. Let's not assume it was our Government allowing it.

  • I also heard Obama wants kids to have a longer school day and he wants Mom's to go back to school !

    Is this a bad thing?

  • I heard about the Obama school days plan. We can't afford to pay the teachers what they deserve right now, so let's make them work longer hours and take aways the summer as well. And you wonder why good teacher leave for other professions.

But here was something even more interesting. While Iran is standing with their tongues out at us, while testing their missiles and healthcare reform is being thrown around like a pinpong ball, Obama feels that his top priority is to go to Denmark to promote Chicago getting the 2016 Olympics. And I heard that a news station made the mistake of saying that Chicago didn't want the games and White House called to tell them to shut up and not run that report. Strong-arm government in the White House and a President who just wants to get out of town.

  • I heard that Obama is only going to be in Denmark 4 hrs and its a promise he made before he was elected to go there to promote Chicago, so he is keeping his promise. I also heard that while on Air Force One he will be working.

Is there any fact to the story that the White House called the Radio Station and told them to shut up?

I also think our children would benefit a little longer school year. When I went to school there was no such thing as a Spring Break or in service days or 1/2 start days. We got a couple days off for Easter not a week and we got Christmas Vacation and then the summer break. Teachers worked longer and harder. They corrected their own papers, supervised the lunch room and play ground and stayed after school to help children who needed extra help.

I also believe that those teachers that are there for the kids not just for the pay check should get paid more. There were good and bad teachers back when I was a kid and when my kids went to school and its still the same today....good and bad teachers.......

I am not saying all teachers are bad nor am I saying all teachers are good ......

I also know a young Mother who is working and going to school so she can get a better paying job in the future to support herself and her little boy. Mom's going back to school in this day and age isn't a bad thing.

I hear Hitler wore pants as well! You know who else wears pants...?

    Obama!?

  • "I doubt that America could ever fall so completely as the Germans did"

That pretty much cuts the teeth out of alot of the comparisons. The economic and social conditions made the others happen. Without the economic collapse, no one cares about Hitler or his antics. Without german males feeling disenfranchised by modern society, the need for violent actions ceases.

  • We are a democracy and we have the right to vote. Our votes have been heard. We have the right to vote when election time comes around again. I am not worried about dictatorship in our country after all we have the Republicans to see that it doesn't happen!

  • Two things are true, we still have a voice and a vote. As long as people don't sit back and do nothing.

  • Back to the topic, its strange to think that Germany prior to 1880 or so was just a series of small independent duchies. The nationalist pride was nonexistent. Each small duchy or dukedom was independent and cared not about any of the others. Each was relatively self-sufficient. The one exception was Bavaria. They traded with others and called themselves a nation but had no ambitions of war or taking over Europe. It seems that with the decline of Russia, the Ottoman Empire, and the old Holy Roman Empire that they felt that they needed to fill that seat. Only fifty years after Bismarck banded this loose confederation together did Hitler arrive on the scene and we know the rest of the story.

  • It will always perplex me that in Europe, which is relatively small, that they have so much nationalist sentiment. So many languages and so many places wanting to be independent. To relate this, Germany is the opposite. Banding together of small states that really that are not that dissimilar. Seemingly all of these states were begging for a chance to have conflict and the two world wars and the other small ones simply fed that need.
