Good Blog Kim, I think that it is a sad day if they prosecute these men for doing their job. giving away our interigation tactics only puts this country at further risk. Is Obama really out to help this country? A question I constenatly ask myself. Bottom line these CIA agents saved lifes and are hero's in my eyes.

  • I would be curious to figure out why Ms. Nancy decided to pursue this venture now and not in the past? I think that she is wasting time by pursuing this. The only officials that need to investigate this are the CIA and members of the armed forces. Upper crust senators who have no experience in this realm need to pick other battles to wage.

Does anyone smell a Rat here check out the latest on Pelosi.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has launched an urgent effort to raise $100,000 by Monday to help combat what she calls GOP "smears" about health care reform.

"Republican opponents of reform are coming out with one outrageous smear after the next, all aimed at derailing our progress. We must be able to counter their special interest-funded attacks and set the record straight," Pelosi wrote in a letter to Democratic supporters.

"That's why I have set a goal of raising $100,000 in grassroots donations before the August FEC fundraising deadline," says Pelosi.

Pelosi and Democrats are clearly worried that they've lost momentum on health care reform this month, and many in her caucus have been crushed by opposition at town hall events.

Pelosi's appeal is aimed at small donors, and she asks for donations of $5 or more in her letter.

Democrats for weeks have been on the defensive, accusing Republicans of mischaracterizing their reform effort. President Barack Obama fired back several weeks ago after Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), a key Republican negotiator on the Senate Finance Committee, said the Democratic push threatened to "pull the plug on grandma."

    Now, Pelosi is pushing back.

"Republicans are doing everything they can to spread the lies they hope will kill health insurance reform," Pelosi writes at the end of the e-mail. "Please make a generous financial contribution to help Democrats get the truth out and fight GOP smears."

We don't have to imagine what happens when the police are prosecuted for doing their jobs. I can recall a few incidents, but one of the most well known can be reviewed at:

    http://topics.nytimes.com/topics/reference/timestopics/people/l/abner_louima/ind...

Comparing the CIA's waterboarding and sleep deprivation techniques to one's own self induced sleep deprivation brought about by one's decisions to bear children, compounded by deferring routine maintenance to one's own home is a gross oversimplification of just one aspect of the CIA's mission. One may begin wrapping their head around the interrogation issue at

http://www.newsweek.com/id/213620 But don't stop there, take a chance, go out on a limb and go to a library or maybe Amazon.com and read up.

On the other hand, expecting the CIA to police itself is naive, to say the least. At the risk of going over our heads with oversimplification, lets say for instance you suffered an assault by four policemen. (Check out this link again http://topics.nytimes.com/topics/reference/timestopics/people/l/abner_louima/ind...) Now from a truthseekers standpoint, would you expect an internal investigation to yield any believable results?

As far as harsh interrogation goes, I'm with McCain. http://mccain.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressOffice.PressReleases&C... By the way, our "Liberal" president's current policy mirrors this statement. Read all of http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/24/obama-administration-sets-new-interro...

Where does this group of bloggers draw the line between truth tellers and liars and thieves? The stories at http://www.idahostatesman.com/213/index.... aren't about "most liberals".

Who are the "known communists" anyway? I remember one of those who warned us. Read about him at

  • Hi Dave. Oh, so good to see another person here. I'm not quite sure from your post and the webpages you listed where you stand.

My comparing sleep and water torture to my own life was simply humor, nothing less. Okay, maybe not completely. It was meant to convey the idea that this should not be considered horrible torture, though. Preventing a known terrorist who helped plan 9-11, from sleeping, though psycologically torture, certainly isn't cruel and usual punishment. For the sake of all that is good, they killed our people. We are supposed to give them a buffet complete with your choice of beverages and a comfy room and nice things? These were bad, evil men! Heck, if we are to treat criminals so well (which in many cases we do) then what is the incentive for anyone to be a good person.

The fact that the govt wants to make these CIA officials doing the job that was at that time within the guidelines is pure and simple treason. I just can't figure this out. However the post about communist was also very confusing. Is this some "Crucible" comparison? That we are on a witch-hunt by questioning and researching the motives of liberals? Obama, himself called for and promised transparency, yet has closed door secret meetings and we are the ones who are wrong by demanding to know what the heck is really going on? We've been warned by countless people that the collaspe of our democracy was coming if we didn't wise up. Too many have lived such a sweet life of freedon that we missed the warning signs. • Ms. Pelosi has had influence for a few years and so could have begun this loony crusade in the past. I wonder what event or idea caused her to fall off the turnip truck finally? She obviously has passion and some expertise but not on this front. She has many other battles to wage and could stop wasting our time and money on this.

  • How was the gun show Mike? Did you find your tank or at least something to bring home?

Kim, thank you for your comments. One day we shall meet up. Moxie can be quite the spot some days. Keep up the good work. You are a gifted writer and a wonderful actress. Never lose sight of your dreams and always be true to yourself and what you truly believe in. I look forward to reading your stuff for years to come. I am sure there is a movie to be made from the WECRD drama. Might be hard to "cast" the board. Oh well, we will worry about that later. Take care and keep up the good work. All of my best to Ken. Go girl!
