Just another brick in the wall

Posted Sunday, August 16, 2009, at 6:19 AM

Hello friends. I have been on vacation and totally out of touch with no cell phone or internet for days. I am hitting the road for South Dakota this morning but I wanted to post another Czar report. The white house is dancing around the fact that they are developing a "Hit List". This should be alarming enough. BTW: My husband turned me into that email address and asked if there was a reward! Jeeze! Even my own family wants to get in on this tattle-telling game. Well, I don;t have much time to really sink my teeth into this new Czar but I can give you alittle.

Here ya go! The new Media Czar! I can't stress enough how very very tipical these actions are becoming from the new Administration.

What is dangerous about the new Czar, Mark Lloyd? Free speech is once again being threatened under the guise of "fairness" Therefore, let's start taking all of those troublemakers on the radio off the air as quickly and as legally as we can. These radio talk people have done far too much damage to the Administration and they are trying to come up with anything possible to do away with it. "According to Lloyd, the success of conservative talk radio, and failure of liberal talk radio, is not because conservative talk radio is more popular with radio listeners, but rather, it is indicative of a market failure in need of a regulatory fix.

To limit the number of conservative voices on the air, Lloyd prescribes shortening broadcast license terms from eight to three years, and allowing "local community leaders" and activists to weigh-in on whether or not a station's license should be renewed. He also proposes creating regulations to increase broadcast ownership diversity "both in terms of the race/ethnicity and gender of the owners." Did you read that? Community leaders and activists will be given the power to decide if a station's license will be reviewed. Can you grasp the significance of this?

Lloyd wrote, "The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio" which definitely states that 76% of talk radio is conservative and that's not fair. It suggests that ownership must be capped so that minorities are given ownerships and licenses are revoked by those who do not conform.

Once again we have another brick in the wall of establishing socialism and defecting democracy. The liberal media is in the back pocket of the President. Soon the radio stations will have to censor their talk radio in order to appease liberals or suffer having their licenses not renewed. Granted, we have always had a form of "censorship" due to morality. Free speech has always been limited because there will always be some who will be vulgar so regulations have always reined what people could say. This is something way beyond normal and crossed over into the time of Nazi-ism or Communism. There is no if, ands or buts about it, folks. Media will be owned by the liberals more and more until the only way to get the real truth instead of propaganda will be "underground".

Thanks, Censored. Just watched it, twice. The guy seemed to be talking about how the Israeli system looks after its people.

Makes me wonder, why did he move here?

Medication and prescription drugs tend to be cheaper in Canada and Mexico, but a lot of these folks from socialized countries continue to come HERE for their treatment.

I have to say, though, that yelling "heil Hitler" to a Jew was in damned poor taste.

I understand that lady's point of view, though............I don't trust THIS government to run a lemonade stand, let alone anything important. The ONLY branch of the U.S. Government that runs efficiently is our military.

What video link were you referring to, Censored?

-- Posted by bazookaman on Wed, Aug 19, 2009, at 7:37 PM

Absolutely..............you wouldn't sign to buy a new car or a house without reading the contract.

When you are supposed to be "representing US", you darned sure BETTER read what you're about to sign! Especially when it's money that belongs to the people, and there is SO MUCH of it!

What do these fools think we send them to D.C. for in the first place? To drink cocktails and play golf?

There ARE organized protestors, but the majority of people showing up AGAINST Obama's policies, are CLEARLY from a grass roots movement. This wasn't "manufactured, anymore than all the tras parties have been. This is for real, and the bureaucrats have a RIGHT to be spooked. NOBODY's job is safe back there now, and they know it.

No, I haven't seen the video yet, but I intend to, if my newly "adjusted" laptop doesn't toss up any "blockers', as it seems to these days.

One thing has become very clear though...........listening to these townhall meetings, it seems that a lot of folks out there HAVE taken the time to read this bill, and from the "uh's" and "er's" of responses they get from the congressmen, it's pretty obvious that our "representatives" have NOT..............and that's one of the things they get PAID to do.

Let me see if I can get hooked up to that video. Later, guys!

Just finished reading that well laid out study, which clearly shows that conservatives own the air-waves. I guess that clears up the whole "liberal media conspiracy"? It's funny, some of the stations sighted in the study that were labeled as progressive/liberal always seemed conservative to me. But I'm just a dumb working-class slug, so what do I know.

Thanks again Mrs. Kovac

-- Posted by censored on Wed, Aug 19, 2009, at 7:24 PM

Bouncer and Bazooka: Did you two even look for the video?

And congress has been compromising back and forth on the healthcare issue since it got put on the plate. But who cares, right? Maybe those strange politicians should have been reading through the thing instead of going on vacation. Then they could have an "informed" opinion one way or the other instead of relying on hearsay and scare tactics. Or they've forgotten how to read and only understand cash for votes.

I thought the "organized protester" were all paid by the health insurance companies, armed by China and bussed in by the oil tycoons? The wireless signal must be crossed somewhere?

Thanks again for the link Mrs. Kovack.

PS...............Hey Bouncer, I dropped in to see you the other day, sorry I missed you.

In honor of "Priness Pelosi", who as you know has labeled all of us rightwing protestors as a bunch of NAZI's.............I left the 357 home and was packing my old Luger............just to be politically CORRECT! (wouldn't want to disappoint anybody!)

-- Posted by bazookaman on Wed, Aug 19, 2009, at 9:52 AM

I don't think this is a Republican/Democrat thing, to the extent it once was. I marched with Democrats too, at that tea party in Boise. When they're being taxed out of existence, they feel it in THEIR wallets just like WE do.

I don't think all these town hall protestors are Republicans, either. Where healthcare is concerned, a lot of Dems are senior citizens too. The only "organized protestors" are the ACORN and union goons the Feds bus in.

I'm glad to know that no crap got started in that Arizona rally you mentioned, Censored. First of all, it's not quite time yet, and secondly, we don't need to get Feinstein and Brady started on THEIR mania.

Have you noticed the "temperature change" in D.C. all of a sudden? They think if they start "adjusting, comprimising and taking a second look" at this health care bill, Americans might just FORGET that they had INTENDED to "ram it through in the dark of night" as they have everything ELSE so far!.............not to mention those precious SEATS they stand to lose in the mid-term election next year.

To try to make SURE the public isn't reminded of their foul deeds since coming to power, The "Annointed One" has appointed this new "media czar" Mark Lloyd to hammer free speech into the ground by getting talk radio shut down at all costs if he probably can........especially before the mid-terms next year.

Did I just hear somebody mention "Heil Hitler" a few paragraphs ago in this blog?

From this new White House point of view, "Dat noos you need to know, vee vill tell you on der CNN, der L.A. Times, Robert Gibbs und der vireless stations VEE kontrol!"

"Ist dat korrect, Herr Goebells?"............."Ya VOL Mein Fuhrer!"

How DARE dees dumkoffs kvestion der STATE!"

Here is the website that has the pdf of his report called:"The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio" http://www.americanprogress.org/ Also, as I research each Czar, I start by just putting in their name and weed out the personal blogs; reading newspaper articles, organization affliations and the person's own web page if they have one. I try to read as many different articles and documents that they themselves have published.

Question Censored, were you at the meeting? Did you interview the lady in the video? Did she SAY she was a conservative, Republican? OR could she have been one of the conservative Democrats or one of the liberals that are just as fed up with the lies and rhetoric coming from this administration and their minions in congress? The protests being denounced by Obama et al aren't just the RWE's. There is a rising current of AMERICANS left and right alike that want the same thing...LESS GOVERNMENT. Looks like alot of libs are awakening from the kool-aid induced haze and are seeing what IS the truth. Do we have the hope from YOU censored?

-- Posted by mhbouncer on Wed, Aug 19, 2009, at 8:24 AM

Sorry the hitler comment happened in Vegas. But the video is up on You tube. Take a gander, is it real or faked? Are any of the ugly reactions from the left or right real or faked? It's like reality t.v. on a mass scale. There's no telling whats reality anymore,.....

-- Posted by censored on Wed, Aug 19, 2009, at 8:02 AM

The right is unknowingly or knowingly, not sure which yet, escalating public debate into a civil war. I read another story yesterday about a man from Israel at a town hall meeting, in California, praising the public health care provided to all citizens in Israel and some conservative lady "Heil Hitler-ed" him and started making fun of him. That was even after he told the lady that he was Jewish. There was a video of the whole incident as well. I wish I would have saved the link to post here, but I'm a nit-wit. But anyway it shouldn't be hard to find if googled. That's just the kind of ugly-headed stuff I see from the right, which delegitimizes their cause for me. Civilised discourse has turned into soup opera dramatics.

I'm just as guilty in the course of things, but I can admit it. I'm trying not to be so ugly in my beliefs but sometimes people make it hard to be compassionate towards theirs.

-- Posted by censored on Wed, Aug 19, 2009, at 7:27 AM

It was at a "Town Hall" meeting in arizona. There was a group among the protesters that brought rifles and one guy with a tacticle weapon. And Obama was hosting the meeting. The guns weren't concealed, they were carrying them like hand bags.

Kim the link you provided was broken could you just give me the actual site name so I may google it?

Thanks,

-- Posted by censored on Wed, Aug 19, 2009, at 7:11 AM

Who's showing up at tea parties and townhalls with guns?

Actually, that's not a fair question, because there are a lot of us with Concealed Carry Permits who are armed no matter where we are.

I agree whole-heartedly, that we've got enough trouble with the anti-gun factions, without supplying any LEGITIMATE reasons for their movement, so I hope nobody gets shot unnecessarily.

Have a good day, Censored.

-- Posted by bazookaman on Tue, Aug 18, 2009, at 1:20 PM

And again socialist wouldn't try to save capitalism by bailing out all the failed banks and corps like the dems did. They would have let them completely fail, take the buildings and start fresh. And speaking of your tea party protest, now that they have gone to the level of fascist showboating what with having to carry guns along with signs. That's not a protest, that's a threat. You guys are pushing the pride and paranoia to the level of out-of-control reactionaries and it's going to screw-up everything you people have been fighting. It's not like the liberals are frightening trolls that need to be shot. Your crew is playing right into their hands with the gun issue and it will give them the ammo needed to stiffen the gun regulations and paper trails into a harder path then they already are. And fatalism is believing that things only get worse so why bother. That is fatalism.

But anyway, after work I'll read through that link you provided just to be courteous and out of curiosity. Thank you.

-- Posted by censored on Tue, Aug 18, 2009, at 8:32 AM

So.....they haven't actually burnt up millions in bailouts? And they havent "really" taken over banks, automakers and student loan organizations?

Obama hasn't "actually' quadrupled the debt he "inherited"?

These aren't ideas anymore,............they have actually HAPPENED.

Pelosi and friends didn't really propose another 550 million for new luxury jets, that WOULD have passed had it not been for the vigilance of us "Un-American Nazi's?"

Gibbs didn't really own up to a "list" being kept by our "transparent government."

As for BSU not being "liberal," I know students, present and past, (including my niece), who would beg to differ with you on that. One of the guys in a music group I play with, happens to be a professor up there as well.

The Obama administration has DONE enough already, to tell us we'd best NOT WAIT to see anymore of their "ideas" come to fruition.

"Wait and see" can come back to haunt you, and after the damage is done and policies are set in stone, there is no comfort in "You were right"....or...."I told you so."

Don't mean anything THEN.

When you SEE the crap that they have already done and continue to come up with............there is NO REASON TO BELIEVE that somehow it's going to be any different further down the road.

This is why it's fatalistic to "wait for it to happen first," when so much of it ALREADY HAS. It's going down right in front of us, Twil.............item by item, and it has to be stopped while we are still ABLE to.

I myself attend college and they dont push the liberal agenda down our throats. Economics can get political but my professors have up til now stayed away from that.

I know some people view this as the end of civilization. I heard the same garbage during the Bush times when the Patriot Act was hot news. All of our freedoms were going to evaporate and the movie Minority Report was going to become reality. Hmmm.. has not yet so when is this cataclysmic change going to happen?

Beliefs are one thing, putting them into action can be another. When it is put into action, I will take notice. There have been politicians in the past with some pretty radical ideas that have never put them into action.

Yes, I read the whole thing. I pride myself on not overreacting and being logical. Life is full of conspiracy theories and impulsive, emotional speeches. Not every one of them is worth getting worked up over. People's mouths never quit running. Not every word they say do they back up with action.

FYI: When I research someone or something, I go to as many sources as I can. I read articles from the Washington Post, the New York Times and many sources. If the person has written anything, then I also read pieces of that if not all of it. I try to let sources be known and I keep them saved with what I write but I don't always have the time to list it with my comments or blog. I read the bios from their own websites or their organization's website. This guy wrote the plans he has and you can read for yourself. http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2... Enjoy the read.

Oh..........Censored..........I forgot to answer one of your questions. Sorry about that.

You asked where this information comes from:

Sometimes the cable networks (that could be SUED for slander if it WASN'T true).

Once in a blue moon, you might pick it up in a newspaper if the editor was tired the night before and didn't catch it.

But AMAZINGLY, sometimes from Obama/Pelosi/Biden/Gibbs/Hillary THEMSELVES. They are so sure of all this new-found power that they aren't always being careful as to what they THEMSELVES say in public, and quickly have to come back and retract.........or they'll change it to "Well, that isn't REALLY what I meant, and it was taken out of context........

Yeah...........

-- Posted by bazookaman on Mon, Aug 17, 2009, at 8:44 AM

...........and you're right....both sides ARE nuts, and BOTH sides need to be replaced. No question about that.

But the Republicans still have two positive things in their favor:

They aren't supporting the Dems on all this spending which is going to bankrupt us, and...

They aren't the ones trying to turn this country into a socialist nation.

I'll give 'em THAT much

(Additionally, it's not only the right thing to do, but it's pretty smart as well. The GOP KNOWS that when mid-term elections roll around next year, every stupid bill they DON'T have their "fingerprints on, will equal some gains in the "seating").

People in this country are FED UP!....and even some of the politicians in D.C. now, have realized that the tea parties and town hall meetings ARE genuine..........not some "orchestrated" thing cooked up and organized by the GOP.

Look at the faces in the crowd. From the working moms to the vets in wheelchairs. They didn't drive into the parking lots in organized bus caravans like the Union thugs and ACORN.

ARLEN SPECTER will certainly not forget HIS time in Pennsylvania when HE goes back to the Senate.

People don't like being called "NAZI'S" either, for merely exercising their right of free speech, as we've seen the liberal protestors do so many times in the past over every stinking little grievance.

When the government says the left can exercise ITS First Amendment rights, but YOU GUYS are "Brownshirts" and totally Un-American if YOU do the same............

It's not only our right...but our DUTY to revolt.

Not Bazookaman's words.

Our founding father's words, and you'll find them in our Declaration of Independence.

Read it sometime.

50/50?..............really?.............Just for a start, check the Statesman for a few days running..particularly to "Opinion" section." SEE which letters they print to MOST of.

The Times, The Chronicle, The Tribune, USA Today, CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC.

Check what's being taught in the colleges.

It has NEVER been 50/50.

-- Posted by bazookaman on Mon, Aug 17, 2009, at 8:13 AM

Where is it that you find this Information? Hopefully not from a corp. run media outlet that is regulated by for profit advertisers and conservative Christians. Because often times they tend to stretch the truth in their favor. And besides all that nonsense the new administration released a statement a week or so after Obama was sworn in, "that he would not be in-acting the fairness doctrine".... why? Because it doesn't make any sense when there is a 50/50 split on right verses left media. There is no majority, on either side. Both sides are just nuts!

-- Posted by censored on Mon, Aug 17, 2009, at 6:20 AM

BTW: Bazook; you were also right about: his intentions are to impose fees EQUAL to the annual operating costs of each conservative radio station and to impose fines of up to 250 million dollars. What that means is that Coporate Broadcasters will pay more fees which will be used to set up new local stations. This "diversity-Czar" will regulate these new stations that will be funded by the fees taken from the commercial broadcast stations. Again with the rob from the "rich" to give to the poor. The poor being the private little broadcast companies that can't compete with the big guys. And all of those new stations will fall into line with what the new Czar deems "fair".

-- Posted by kimkovac on Mon, Aug 17, 2009, at 12:37 AM

There really should be a test before a person is allowed to vote...or run for office. That would solve many of our current problems.

-- Posted by OpinionMissy on Sun, Aug 16, 2009, at 11:45 PM

Did you read the ENTIRE blog that Kim wrote? If THIS isn't PREJUDICE, I don't know what is.

They intend to TARGET any radio station that doesn't go along with Obama's policy............does the FIRST Amendment ring a bell?

This government is not only labeling rightwing tea partyers and townhallers as Un-American NAZI's, but NOW they're looking to get rid of CONSERVATIVE radio stations ONE WAY OR THE OTHER.

Ask your professors (if you can FIND an un=biased one), if he knows who Josef Goebbels was, and their mode of operation to "reach der peeples," and BAN free speech!

And to the few of you I've bumped into around town who have taken offense to my Hitler/Obama comparisons..................WAKE UP, DUMMIES!

If you STILL can't see what's happening right in front of you..............you do NOT need to be voting!

-- Posted by bazookaman on Sun, Aug 16, 2009, at 8:49 PM

Any regulations that are enacted now will be undone or adjusted when a Conservative/Republican administration takes power. One can be assured that it will happen in due time. I know this dampens your world-is-ending, cataclysmic speech but so goes life.

Letting community leaders have a say is retarded. I know some dislike that word but that seems like digressing rather than progressing. Community leaders have different motives. Those who own the license are out to make a few bucks. How they make that money is legit. The types that listen to Rush, Savage, Hannity are always going to feel that they need a sense of community. To know that they are not alone. Knowing that they are not the majority they seek consoling elsewhere. This is not to say they are wrong but any minority will seek audience among themselves.

Limiting the length of the license will bring the price up. This would not be wise of anyone in power at this present point in time.

I dont know if I believe in this totally but if it is true, then they are being insecure. Anything good or worthy of advertising should be defended but also can stand up to criticism. If one is afraid of criticism then apparently it is not that great after all.

I've lived in Mtn Home for over 20 years. I love my city and my country. Since I am a writer, my decision to blog here seemed appropriate. I enjoy acting so I've been blessed with the opportunity to work on some independent films and with Prairie Dog Productions and Bogus Creek Ranch. I hope that something I have to write about has some value for others or just amuses someone.
