IT'S A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS CAROL

Posted Thursday, November 27, 2008, at 1:15 PM

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who read my previous blogs and took time to comment. I appreciate that very much. I wish that I had time for writing more but I've had a busy few weeks. With a full-time job and rehearsals every night for the play, I haven't had time for much. What play, you ask? Oh, this is where I do a shameless plug...I play a few characters in a Christmas Comedy at Prairie Dog Productions, (ticket info at www.pdplayhouse.com) 3820 Cassia, Boise. We had our Open Dress Rehearsal last night and I'm proud to say, it was a success. Everyone laughed at the right places and even a few places we didn't expect. Opening Night is Friday, Nov. 28, doors open at 6:45. There will be shows every Friday and Sat until Dec. 27, plus Sunday matinees: November 30, December 14th and 21st. Curtain @ 2:00pm (Doors Open @ 1:30pm). The play is full of joking, a few silly songs, some dancing and good acting that will bring a smile to your face. There are two Mtn Home residents involved.

It's A Wonderful Christmas Carol: Charles Dickens narrates his latest holiday story. A Tale of Two Men from Two different Cities who find out that life is really quite wonderful. Ebenezer Scrooge hates Christmas and he's really tired of the poor work performance of his employee, American George Bailey. So on Christmas Eve, when Bailey asks for a loan to pay off his evil landlord, William Knott, Scrooge sacks him. Tearfully, George decides his family would be better off if he were dead so he ends it all. But when "God" tells him that he can't go to heaven, George begs for a second chance. In order to stay out of H-E-double hockey sticks, he has a few hours to convert Scrooge from the miserable excuse for a human being that he is into a Christmas-loving, turkey-giving kind man. No small task! So George gets his family and a bunch of friends together to play ghosts and scare Scrooge straight and see the error of his ways. If he fails, the Angel of Death takes his soul! What could possibly go wrong! Come down for foot stomping family fun at Idaho's Family Theater!

Okay, end of shameless plug! As the saying goes: God Bless us everyone!

Though I barely had a voice since suffering from sickness for the past few weeks, the shows went great this past weekend. We were sold out both Friday and Sat. The audience responded great and had a great time. Those reading this, if you want a really fun time, come see our show!

I've lived in Mtn Home for over 20 years. I love my city and my country. Since I am a writer, my decision to blog here seemed appropriate. I enjoy acting so I've been blessed with the opportunity to work on some independent films and with Prairie Dog Productions and Bogus Creek Ranch. I hope that something I have to write about has some value for others or just amuses someone.
