Sweet and Sour SaucePosted Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at 2:46 PM
2 14 ounce bottles of Ketchup
2 14 ounce jars of grape jelly, (Do Not use Grape Jam)
1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 Teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 Coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 Teaspoon salt or just leave the salt out if you like
A slow cooker works well for doing it and if you have a fondue pot that is a great way to serve it
Once the sauce is slow cooked, make bite size meatballs of your choice and add them to the sauce and cook them in the sauce, Don't over cook them or they will get dryed out.
You can also just spoon them out of the sauce onto a saucer and have toothpicks on hand for sticking into the meatballs for the purpose of eating.
Sauce also works well for doing lil smokies instead of meatballs
The left over sauce can be frozen but will lose some of the taste when thawed
Another point if you want to make more or less of the sauce use a measuring cup only rule there is to use equal amounts of the Ketchup and Grape Jelly
