There just is no place better

Since it began, few places in Idaho can equal the atmosphere or the service most get at Shorty's Saloon in Boise. While Shorty's is in Garden City and dang it, it was too much too late once when The Hazzard Knytes looked at buying the place a few years ago, I was happy to see it open once again.

Shorty's has been named by the Knytes of Anarchy as our favorite place in Idaho, period and will if all goes according to plan, where the Miss Hazzard County contest will take place just after the New Years.

That said, the first and last Friday's of each month is where the western Idaho chapter of: Knytes-of-Anarchy meet usually at around 18:00 hours.

The food at Shorty's is outstanding and albeit even with a few boo-boo's as we saw last Friday night, after the band started, but overall the service is good as well.

Shorty's is a mini Gilley's in many ways and is one of only a very few real Kountry bars left in Idaho.

If you get a chance go there you'll be happy you did, and if you happen to be there on the first or last Frday of the month at around 18:00 hours you might get to meet the rest of the members of the Knytes-of-Anarchy.

Thank You.... I hate giving a client a rejection letter.......

-- Posted by workingbee on Sun, Nov 9, 2008, at 11:29 PM

Sure but as fellow graphic designers send the message to aryecoyote that usage of other peoples images and graphics without permission is not tolerated here...... don't sell ourselves short on that..........

Hey workingbee, lets agree to agree on what we agree on and agree to disagree on what we dont. When I do a design I am proud of it and make sure it is what the client wants and is proud to use it. Lets call the whole thing good and move on.

well, i don't have a problem with anyone using word of mouth advertising on a positive basis, I do have a problem with people using logos with other logos to promote a product or product line that may not have the same views unless there is exclusive permissions......... to which I would doubt aryecoyote has those expressed permissions........ my clients logos are very valued and make sure those logos are only used as directed.....

As am I, which is why I said I agree with you :-)

-- Posted by Ds_Seester on Sun, Nov 9, 2008, at 10:46 PM

hahaha, I am a graphic designer

-- Posted by workingbee on Sun, Nov 9, 2008, at 10:44 PM

Ok it isnt the best, he never claimed to be a graphic designer. Perhaps that is a good thing. I checked the google link and found what you were trying to show me. Not saying I dont agree on that aspect, what I am saying is is that I see nothing wrong in discussing a good place to go.

-- Posted by Ds_Seester on Sun, Nov 9, 2008, at 10:42 PM

As a graphic designer, it is very bad........check out the google link......

Um Workingbee that was a water site. But yes I understand what you are saying, anyone can create a logo from images on the internet. If that is the worst thing he does.......

Or just simple Goggle Images and use the keyword Shorty's Saloon.

Workingbee, yes i agree with you that word of mouth is advertising, in fact it is a great form of it. I am guessing you never tell anyone about a great new resturante you found all by yourself, you never go to a sale that you heard about from a friend, because that would be advertising on their part. Sheesh, if that is the worst the guy does is talk about a popular bar then just rope and tie him and hang him from the nearest tree. Apparently Mountain Home News has not removed any of the pictures he has used on his blog so they must not have a problem with it, you re just looking for something to complain about.

Word of Mouth is advertising........and ayrecoyote is not that talented to create that logo.....look at the rest of his work

Well, I was going to stay out of this, however, being a female I reserve the right to change my mind at any time without prior notice.

Shorty's is an awesome country bar. I will admit when I went in there for the first time I was not sure what to expect but was willing to give it a try. You describe it as a "mini Gilly's" yeah I would have to say you got that one on the money. Would love to see them here in Mountain Home, not that we need anymore bars. I guess it would be sort of comparable to what Charlie's is trying to do.

Workingbee---talking about a popular place to go or somewhere people enjoy shouldnt be misconstrued as advertisement, more like a discussion about it. The logo I saw on the bar was a large star, so I would have to defend the fact that he is not using a logo that belongs to the bar in referrence.

CrazyWolf---this is your blog and where you have chosen to air what your thoughts and comments are about things, what you are not happy about is that you have opened yourself to ridicule and backlashing and that is exactly what we all get on here, you have to be willing to accept what you get for what you say. Someone somewhere is always going to disagree with you and someone else will agree with you. That is life.

One more thing before I go, the margarita's at Shorty's OMG, talk about your best drink in the world! I would have paid quadruple for that drink, the size, the flavor, all of it, worth a drive from Mountain Home to Garden City!

Just my humble opinions!

-- Posted by Ds_Seester on Sun, Nov 9, 2008, at 10:17 PM

OH, I think that logo most likely is copywritted........ Do YOU have permission

-- Posted by workingbee on Sun, Nov 9, 2008, at 10:01 PM

Wow, I hope Shorty's doesn't know you are doing advertising for them...

-- Posted by workingbee on Sun, Nov 9, 2008, at 10:00 PM

Ahh, so since I do not agree with you I am not welcome. So much for keeping an open mind. Is there any other place that I would not be welcome in your opinion? Maybe the town itself?

-- Posted by Old guy on Sun, Nov 9, 2008, at 7:26 PM

Thanks now I know what time not to go there. A place full of people similiar to you just scares me to death.
