Ever get the idea that some TV shows miss the ad ship?

Okay now for what, several weeks we or at least some of us have gotten into the TV Show, Sons Of Anarchy on FX Cable network.

First tried to find the theme song of the show and even You Tube does not have it uploaded yet.

But then I get to wondering, did Harley Davidson and other biker related business's miss the boat to plug their wares on this show.

Sons of Anarchy is in my opinion one of the best written and best cast if not best produced TV show that has came up the line since the Dukes.

Sons of Anarchy takes the concept of the Sopranos , puts a biker club in the town of Darling California and essentially run the small town. Sound like any where you know?

Then I look at our own cable system here in Glenns Ferry, while RTC here does do a better than most job you wonder why our local cable TV provider here does not put up local ads etc to generate some extra money? If they did, I'd be one of the first to buy advertising on the system.

Talking cable TV in Glenns Ferry, the reson I'm working with Camera-8 in Mountain Home Idaho, is to gain enough knowledge to bring such a thing as Cable Access Television to Rural Telephone Company, our Cable TV provider and Glenns Ferry.

This I know , is a change hard to grasp, but its called progressive thinking, something needed here.

local cable television broadcasting is no different than any other business. It is driven by ecominics and the laws of supply and demand. You do not just "put up" advertising and make money. First off someone has to offer to pay for that advertising, and secondly it has to be equal to or more than any of the other advertising revenue they are already recieving. Lastly, the local cable provider out in Glenns Ferry has no master control room to insert such advertising. Which brings us back full circle to the issue of revenue. If there where enough local companies willing to pay enough in advertising rates to afford such a control room one would already exsist. That's called "LOGICAL THINKING" Once again you are trying to manipulate a situation that doesn't favor your views, interests or lifestyle into sounding like it is someone else's fault. Good luck with your work with your Mountain Home station if that is truly what you are doing, aparently the economics work there. QUIT INSULTING AND CRITISIZING THE CITIZENS AND BUSINESSES OF GLENNS FERRY OR KNOW ONE WILL EVER WORK WITH YOU OR RESPECT YOU!"

"Third if our town's city council puts things up on Camera-8 out of Mountain Home even though Glenns Ferry can't see it, means there is a slight albeit again slight want for it"

What does this mean? It makes no sense in or out of context!

On behalf of Camera 8 I would just like to give the following information:

1. We are available on Time Warner cable channel 8 in Mountain Home.

2. We are available for viewing through our webstream on our website, www.camera8.tv 24/7 all over the world. Including Glenns Ferry, Idaho!

3. Businesses, the City Council of Glenns Ferry, non-profit organizations, Masonic organizations, Scouts and Churches are welcome to place advertising on Camera 8's Video Bulletin Board, all they have to do is call 587-8801 and I will be happy to go over the information with them.

4. It might interest some to know that there is more than a slight chance of something on Camera 8 being seen, our web statistics on our web stream prove that fact. In one night we have had as many as 545 viewers during our programming time.

5. As for Hazard County coming to Camera 8, we are a Public Access Channel, therefor we invite anyone to come in and learn more about us and what we have to offer our community.

6. Mr. Crazy Wolf, give me a call, thanks!

Ok, This is what I gather so far. You claim to have some pretty extensive knowledge in the industry of local television production and programing. You also claim to have knowledge that several businesses in the Glenns Ferry area would be interested in using that service. You also state that RTCI is missing out on extra monies by not taking advantage of this. All this put together sound like a good basis to start your own business. All you have to do is construct a detailed business plan and present it to a bank or a group of investors, get the proper zoning, go through all the government red tape and obtain the proper permissions through the FCC. Then design the facility, pay for it's construction, get the necessary insurance, and hire what ever amount of people you would need to operate said facility. Then calculate your monthly overhead, approach the area businesses with the appropriate cost for commercial time to cover you operating costs and convince them that it make sense to advertise to populations which are thirty miles away and already offer the same services in their are without the consumer having to drive to obtain them. Anyways, sounds like it should work, I would expect you to get on this right away.
