my shoulder patch
Years ago when one went into trucking or towing or maybe both a simple ad in the newspaper, phone book was usually all that was required. Then came TV. Some of us migrated to TV as an ad or marketing vehicle as a more modern progressive way to get the word out of where you were, and so on. One didn't really need production that was a mini movie to get the attention of viewers, you had 2 maybe 3 stations and that's what did it. A plain jane what is called a generic ad was okay. Today the picture is way different. Today you have a fraction of a millisecond to grab the attention of the folks that will use or call for your services. With cable, satellite, internet and the lowly critter called the newspaper. While radio is still good it to is limited any more, few target a listener, most run programing for a wider audience. For the most part specific radio is gone to satellite radio. Something the UAITA is working to change by the way, go read www.highwayhookerphootenotes.blogspot.co... for more on that. So getting back to task here. If your thinking of video finding creative talent not only in front of the camera but behind it is crucial. After all your going to spend big money to be on TV even in local off prime time hours. Now you might think or dream like I do that here in Idaho your going to find talent like that of a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader to be on your TV ad, but that sadly is not going to happen. After all this is not Dallas, Nashville or Hollywierd. This is rural Idaho. Even Utah is well behind the curve for such things. So now what do you do? That in my next blog, keep truckin
