Taken

A film that already is my favorite for Best Trailer this year is Taken.

In Taken, Liam Neeson plays Bryan Mills, a secret service agent, now retired to spend more time with his daughter Kim, played by Maggie Grace, who audiences will know from her role on the ABC television show "Lost".

When Kim and his mom, played by Famke Janssen convinces Mills to allow Kim to go on a trip to Paris, Mills greatest fears is realized when Kim is kidnapped by an Albanese gang who are involved in human trafficking.

When his daughter is kidnapped, knowing that he has 96 hours, before losing her, Mills puts his skills to the test and flies to Paris to save his estranged daughter.

I got to say the movie was better, than I expected, although the similarities to the Bourne films were there, Neeson at 52 years old holds his own in the action sequences.

I got to admit, I am not totally familiar with Neeson's body of work, the last movie I remember seeing him in was the Phantom of Menace, even though recently he has been the voice of Azlan the Lion in the Narnia films. But in Taken, his performance was solid, maybe not Academy Award worthy, but good nonetheless.

I'm still giving the movie a 4 out of 5 reel rating, despite the Bourne similarities.
