NBA Finals Update 1Posted Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at 11:49 AM
The Magic has entered this series, a first for the Magic since 1995 back in the days of Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway, with the momentum of knocking out the defending champion Boston Celtics and the East #1 seed Cavaliers. They have entered this series, basically playing like they are happy to be there. Game 1, the Lakers crushed the Magic and a determined Kobe Bryant put up a career high 40 points. Last Sunday, the Magic put up a better fight against the Lakers and almost stole the home court advantage. But the Lakers, pulled off a four point overtime victory: 100-96. The Magic enters Game 3 tonight needing to play the biggest game of the year, just to get back in this series and force a Game 6 or 7 back in L.A. I feel that the Magic, behind the talent of the Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard and star forwards Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis, will have enough to win at least two of the games in Orlando. But Orlando, will clearly not win this series, not if Kobe and the Lake Show have anything to say about that. Especially Kobe, who visibly during both games have shown his determination, it is clear that he wants to win this championship and prove that he can win an NBA title without The Big Aristotle (Shaquille O'Neal) in the middle. A little factoid for you NBA fans, when a Phil Jackson coached team wins Game 1 of a series he is 43-0. The only question I have is why are the Kobe and Lebron puppet commercials still airing, there is really no point for them, even though they are funny.
