Kanye West is a tool, ask Taylor SwiftPosted Monday, September 14, 2009, at 9:19 PM
He didn't just interrupt an acceptance speech, he interrupted the princess of country music's "welcome to the world" moment, well, the rest of the world who didn't already know who she was. Taylor plays the "I can't believe this is happening to me, wow, I'm so shocked" card better than anyone else (she's won almost every country music award that matters, at some point, she needs to just say "thank you," and leave the stage- and do so quickly before anyone else can interrupt her again.) She was playing it again Sunday night, but this time rightfully so. When was the last time a country artist was nominated for an award, let alone won one? Never, she's the first country artist to win a Moonman. Not only was she a nominee, winner and performer, she was the first artist to confirm her appearance at the show and headlined its marketing campaign. These are major accomplishments for any artist, but the fact Taylor is a country artist dominating an MTV award show makes it even more amazing, though its not surprising she'd be the first to do so. She brings country music to fans who otherwise wouldn't listen to the genre. In an era where CD sales are down, she continues to sell millions of them. She headlines her own tours, dominates award shows, makes Kellie Pickler worth listening to and gets awards created just to be handed out to her. She is not only the future of country music, but the future of country music may very well rest, in part, on her shoulders. There she was, on a stage in a city that doesn't even have a country music radio station, about to be introduced to a world not known by any country artist not named Darius Rucker, acknowledging just how rare that was. All of a sudden, she got the micaphone stolen from her hands by a hip hop artist who used it to belittle her and strongly suggest Beyonce should have won the trophy she was holding. It doesn't matter what he, or anyone, thought of Taylor Swift's video (it's not her best, this one is), his actions were disrespectful for the forum he used to broadcast them. It was the equivalent of Shaq welcoming top overdraft pick Blake Griffin to the NBA by coming out of the stands and slamming the ball down this throat as he attempts to dunk the ball during a Clippers-Bulls game: just as unexpected as it is unwelcomed. Not only did West manage to upset every 16-year old girl in the country in a matter of seconds, he looked look a complete jerk doing it. The end result looked very much like a grown man picking on a teenage girl on live TV during one of the highest points of her young career. Though Taylor's introduction to the other side of the red carpet was rudely interrupted, it did not adequately reflect the rest of the music world's feelings towards Taylor. The audience booed West, he was asked to leave, fans chanted Taylor's name the rest of the night anytime his videos were nominated for an award and Beyonce invited her on stage during her win to finish her speech. The fallout there didn't stop for West, some radio stations are vocally banning his music from their airwaves. Expect West to check himself into a rehab center in the next six days to try to save face and for Taylor Swift to make an appearance on Saturday Night Live this season. There is no stopping Taylor these days, no matter how big the tool that tries is. Bonus Taylor Swift: girls I'd cheat on her with and why you shouldn't have bought her Beautiful Eyes CD. Taylor - Login @robertsrandoms robert.taylor34@gmail.com The idea behind Robert's Random is for me to write about whatever I'm thinking about whenever I'm thinking it. I try to write 3-5 times a week, but sometimes real work gets in the way of that. Sometimes I'll share whatever random thought I might have that day but most of the time, I like to write about things going on in the news. I'm a total news junkie, I spend a lot of time online at various news sites. If I find a story where someone does something totally stupid or I wonder "what were they thinking?" I don't mind pointing it out incase others missed it or taking my best guess at what they were thinking. I like to laugh, I like to make others laugh. There's so much serious and wrong stuff going on in the news that when I find an unusual or light story, I like to use it. And while real life news events might be the focus of many of my blogs, I'm just trying to entertain you, make you laugh and maybe even think about something you didn't know before reading. I'm not trying to break any serious news or deliver any hard-hitting coverage. You'll have to read a paper or watch one of the network shows for that. I wonder how this bonehead would feel if someone did the same thing to him? Not that I expect him to win an award for sometime unless it is the bonehead of the year award. Kudos to Beyonce for inviting Swift back up to finish what the jerk stopped despite his promise to let her finish a speech she had earned.
I watched the VMA'S felt sorry for Taylor and thought what a Jerk Kanye was. Seems he is always wanting attention. He was on Jay's new show tonight and it was not planned for him to speak however he wanted to take a few minutes and talk.
When asked what is Mom would of said to him, he didn't answer.
Lady Ga Ga was weird, her/he costumes were pretty strange
I love Pink I didn't realize she was so talented !
When I think of Kanyw West I think of the benefit concert when he told the entire world that George Bush hates black people.....Funny because if you look at his history at these award shows he says something everytime a white artist wins over a black artist, especially when its himself...I believe now HE is the one hating isnt he....What a waste of space he is....I hope he never recovers from this. They say it takes a village to raise a child and Kanyes village failed him.
Kcp11, that's unnecessary, what an mindless comment you decided to post, just because he got on the stage and said what he said, automatically indicates that he's a "Waste of space" and that you don't hope he recovers from it? You're getting bent out of shape, because of one comment and then you decide to bring the whole "race" thing into the discussion, when it's has nothing to do with race, NOTHING to do with race. Sorry sir, but what a waste of space YOU are.

I guess you're in the running for bone head of the year as well right? What's up with people calling him names just because he got up on stage and said what he said? Personally, he was RIGHT. He went on Jay Leno, you could see he was sorry, and these comments are unnecessary, he apologized, let it go.
Geez...he absolutely was NOT right in what he said. Taylor DID deserve it and Beyonce deserved the award she got because that's how the votes went. He was disrespectful, rude and I could think of a few other names but will refrain. And it wasn't just one incident. He has done this time and time again. He thinks he's entitled to say whatever he feels whenever he feels it and his Mom WOULD be disappointed in that kind of behavior. His apology on Leno was a nice act for the cameras...seems to me he should have made an effort to contact Taylor Swift personally which he did not until AFTER she said that he hadn't contacted her when she was on "The View." He's all about protecting his image and I highly doubt he'll change...truly hope he proves me wrong though.
