Naps in tattoo chairs, not the best of ideas

Everyone loves naps. Naps can be a great thing.

Unless you take them in a tattoo pallor. While getting a tattoo.

Then you'll likely to wake up with 56 stars all over your face, as opposed to the three you fell asleep wanting.

That's what happened to Kimberley Vlaeminck, a Belgium teenager from Kortrijk, 56 miles northwest of Brussels.

Now's she suing the tattoo artist, alleging she only wanted three stars. The tattoo artist, Rouslan Toumaniantz , is saying she wanted all of the stars and only got upset after her father didn't approve of her daughter looking like a clown.

Only one of two things happened here.

Either this conversation took place:

"Welcome to my tattoo pallor. What can I do for you today?"

"I'd like to look like a circus act. Can I please get 56 stars randomly scatted across my face?"

"Of course you can, just take a seat. This is going to take a while, perhaps you'd feel more comfortable taking a nap."

Or she came in and asked for three stars and the guy thought it would be funny to go crazy while she was sleeping and turn three into 56.

I'm not a Belgium law expert (or even a Belgium waffle expert) but two questions come to mind: 1) how the heck does one person sleep through 56 tattoos? Ever got a tattoo before? On your face?!? Did the buzzing of the needle and the constant poking of your skin make you want to take a nap?

And 2) how much did she pay for the tattoos? There's a big difference in the amount of time and work it takes to tattoo three stars on someone's face and 56. Most likely, there's a big difference in the amount one would charge to tattoo three stars and 56 stars. If in fact the girl asked for 56 tattoos, the tattoo artist probably wouldn't have thought twice about how ridicules that would look. It's not his job to question people's judgment and he probably gets strange request all day long and he himself is covered in ink. His job is to do what people request. And then charge them for it. If the girl agreed to 56 tattoos as he claims, then she would have agreed to paying for them. If she agreed to pay a smaller amount, chances are, that's all she wanted. If she agreed to pay a larger amount, she probably wanted a larger amount of tattoos.

Either way, don't take any chances by taking naps in tattoo chairs. Or letting the guy above ink you.

It's now come out that she did in fact ask for all 56 stars. So she is not careless, just dishonest.

I watched my dad getting a tattoo once, and he was snoring away. Of course it was on his arm, not his face.

The idea behind Robert's Random is for me to write about whatever I'm thinking about whenever I'm thinking it. I try to write 3-5 times a week, but sometimes real work gets in the way of that. Sometimes I'll share whatever random thought I might have that day but most of the time, I like to write about things going on in the news. I'm a total news junkie, I spend a lot of time online at various news sites. If I find a story where someone does something totally stupid or I wonder "what were they thinking?" I don't mind pointing it out incase others missed it or taking my best guess at what they were thinking. I like to laugh, I like to make others laugh. There's so much serious and wrong stuff going on in the news that when I find an unusual or light story, I like to use it. And while real life news events might be the focus of many of my blogs, I'm just trying to entertain you, make you laugh and maybe even think about something you didn't know before reading. I'm not trying to break any serious news or deliver any hard-hitting coverage. You'll have to read a paper or watch one of the network shows for that.
