Why it's easier to be a guy than a girl

Posted Thursday, February 5, 2009, at 4:43 PM

I realized today in the shower that life's simpler as a guy.

The shower head in my new apartment only goes to about my shoulder and my roommate hangs a shower caddie off of it, so whatever she keeps in it is just a little below eye level. As I got into the shower today, I noticed her shampoo bottle was facing the wall and I was able to read the directions on the back of the bottle without moving anything.

Her shampoo bottle's instructions consist of six steps and 59 words. I picked up my bottle of shampoo and read the directions on my bottle. There were three steps and nine words and "Repeat as desired," was one of those steps.

Apparently, it takes a lot more work to be a girl then a guy.

Being a man is easier but women have advantages as well so it evens out in the end.

Kim and Ken, the 2 of you are very cute. Much like Mike and the love of his life. That is nice to see---refreshing. Take care kids and have a great day (stay warm and be safe).

Robert, how are you doing in your new place? Do you still like it there? Thank you for keeping the messages to MH flowing. Take care of yourself.

I enjoy being a girl but I toss the nice clothes, pull on a pair of old jeans and duke it out with any man whenever I need to. And furthermore, I can get down and dirty working in the yard, bloody gutting a deer and an hour later make you wonder if I had a nicer twin hiding in the closet. Have you noticed that the exact same haircut for a man cost $5 but $25 for a woman? Or A shirt that looks the same cost $12 in the mens dept but $32 in the women's. Robert, that shampoo that you were reading probably cost twice as much as your shampoo. Maybe we are charged more because there are more words. It can be quite unfair the amount of money we have to spend to enjoy being female, but it's worth it when we see the smile on the man's face.

Wow! Thanks, KRKJR. That was one of the nicest things you've ever written. Of course, being so close to Valentine's Day, I imagine you think you're in the clear. Being so sweet and saying such wonderful things about me should suffice, huh? No need for some sloppy love card with chocolates and expensive jewelry, huh? Hold on, while I read that comment again.......Well, okay, maybe so. It's not everyday a wife gets to see such a nice blog written about her. How about dinner with a nice drink and call it good?

I happen to think my wife looks good any time of the day or night. And I do appreciate the extra time she takes to get herself ready when we go out somewhere. She does turn some heads. I know she probably would like me to take a little extra time and effort, after all, my idea of getting dressed up is putting on a clean t-shirt. Of course I cover it up with a clean flannel when its cold outside. But in the end ladies, most of us gentlemen do appreciate your beauty and elegance. It does make us look better, after all.

lol sas ...they really don't think we look this great when we get out of bed do they?

Robert,

Yes, it is. It is no bother as long as you gentlemen appreciate the 'extra' steps it takes us women to be beautiful.

Remember that. :-)

The idea behind Robert's Random is for me to write about whatever I'm thinking about whenever I'm thinking it. I try to write 3-5 times a week, but sometimes real work gets in the way of that. Sometimes I'll share whatever random thought I might have that day but most of the time, I like to write about things going on in the news. I'm a total news junkie, I spend a lot of time online at various news sites. If I find a story where someone does something totally stupid or I wonder "what were they thinking?" I don't mind pointing it out incase others missed it or taking my best guess at what they were thinking. I like to laugh, I like to make others laugh. There's so much serious and wrong stuff going on in the news that when I find an unusual or light story, I like to use it. And while real life news events might be the focus of many of my blogs, I'm just trying to entertain you, make you laugh and maybe even think about something you didn't know before reading. I'm not trying to break any serious news or deliver any hard-hitting coverage. You'll have to read a paper or watch one of the network shows for that.
