We've all been told not to be a sore loser before. Even worse than being a sore loser is being a sore winner.

Three members of Congress are taking being a sore loser/winner to new levels by requesting the Justice Department reviews the BCS.

Anyone want to guess what state these three congressmen are from?

Hawaii, Georgia and Idaho. That's right, our congressman, Mike Simpson, has little more to do in Congress than whine about Boise State's undefeated no-national title season.

I guess it's better than how Larry Craig spends his time, but that's another topic all together.

Representatives Neil Abercrombie and Lynn Westmoreland are joining them in the request because they too feel schools from their home states, the universities of Hawaii and Georgia respectfully, have gotten the short end of the deal from the BCS.

The BCS is what it is. It may not be perfect, not everyone likes it and a playoff system would be entertaining to watch and eliminate any discussion on who the national champion is.

However, the BCS system is not to blame for Boise State, Georgia or Hawaii's lack of a national title.

Boise State and Hawaii playing in the WAC and Georgia's inability to win a game that matters are the reasons neither of these schools have won national titles the last two years, not the BCS.

There's also the fact that none of these schools were good enough to win a national title in the first place.

Boise State finished the 2006 season with no losses, one loss less than national champions Florida.

But consider BSU plays in the WAC and Florida plays in the SEC.

So while Boise State was busy beating up on schools like Sacamento State, Idaho and Utah State, Florida had its hands full with teams like LSU, Tennessee, Georgia and Arkansas.

What the Broncos did in the Fiesta Bowl was nothing short of amazing. Anyone who watches sports at any level understands how big that win was and what the Broncos had to do in that game.

However, the Broncos had to get up for one game against a big-time opponent and had almost six weeks to prepare for that game.

The Gators had to play a big-time opponent nearly every week.

If you really think what Boise State did playing in the WAC is comparative to what Florida did playing in the SEC and what they did to Big Ten champion Ohio State in the national title game, go to Wal-Mart and buy yourself another $19.95 Bronco T-shirt and wait for tailgating to start at Bronco Stadium in the fall.

Hawaii's run though the WAC this year is similar to what the Bronco's did last year. It's also worth noting that Hawaii's rank of schedule was 119th in the country. There are only 119 NCAA FBS teams in the country.

If I was from Hawaii, I'd want everyone to forget about the 41-10 beating Georgia dished out to the team in the Sugar Bowl this year.

Not Rep. Abercrombie, he wants to draw attention to the game and use it as evidence the BCS isn't fair to schools like Hawaii.

That game showed for every BSU win over Oklahoma, there are another 100 teams out there who get slaughted by bigger schools. Most of them don't occur on national TV or pay the loser millions of dollars.

Hawaii wasn't good enough to polish the Bulldogs' helmets, let alone play on the same field as them that night. It wouldn't have mattered what method was used to determine the national champion last fall, Hawaii still wouldn't have won it.

Georgia by far had the best team out of the three teams and finished the year ranked No. 2 in most polls.

Georgia fans probably feel they have the biggest claim to the national title but the school's claim is the easiest to disclaim: Georgia lost to Tennessee 14-35 in October.

The greatest thing about the current system is that every game matters during the regular season. The regular season is college football's playoffs.

That one loss kept Georgia from winning their division and not getting a shot at LSU in the conference championships.

Had they beat Tennessee in October and LSU in the conference championship, they no doubt would had played for the title.

But they didn't. They didn't take care of business on the field and now congressmen and school officials want to get involved in business off the field.

Shortly after the win over Hawaii, the school's president started calling for a playoff tournament to determine the championship.

Georgia would have been one of thefavorites to win the title in a end of season tournament. They were playing hot and were on a huge roll.

But they weren't on a roll in October and they paid for it January.

It's not the BCS's fault Georgia couldn't beat Tennessee.

It's not the BCS's fault Boise State and Hawaii play in the WAC against no name teams week in and week out.

But hey, if the BCS is Congress' biggest problem, things must be going pretty good in our country.
