Another reason why I don't like Bronco fans

I'm well aware how hard it is to be a Vandal in the middle of Bronco Nation.
Everyone feels free to offer their unsolicited, and often uneducated, opinion on the differences between the two schools. That's not true, their opinion focuses mostly on one difference between the two schools: the number of football games each school wins. In previous positions, I've dedicated a lot of print and Web space listing the reasons why I hate Boise State fans, not students, just their fans. You know the type, the ones that jumped on the bandwagon when Boise started winning who know nothing about either school. I don't mind hearing about the one-sided winning streak in the rivalry from my friends that go there, that's the point of a rivalry. I'm just saying, if the next question out of someone's mouth is asking me if I want to supersize my order or not, perhaps that person shouldn't be making fun of the college I chose to attend. Anyways, I can't promise that at some point in the future, I won't use this space to continue that argument, but today, I'm just going to tell a story. It's a true story, it just happened last week. I put on my favorite running gear, which consist of a long sleeve Vandal shirt, a pair of sweat pants with the Idaho logo on them and my white Idaho hat. I'm a pretty easy target when I'm dressed like this am often reminded how much Idaho sucks while on my runs. Last week was no exception, it took all of four minutes for me to hear someone's unsolicited opinion after I left my house. Before I started my run, I watched part of the Mountain Home High School/ Bishop Kelly tennis meet. While there, I noticed a kid who had to be six at the oldest. His hat was the black version of the one I had on. "Nice hat," I said. The kid looked at me like he didn't know if he wanted to cry or attempt to fight me. "My brother goes to school there," he said, sounding as defensive and guilty as one can. I told him I went to school there too and pointed to the various Idaho logos stamped across my body. "People pick on you a lot for wearing that hat, uh?" I asked him. His reply was yes. Come on Bronco fans, do you really need to pick on a six year old supporting his brother's school? Think about it, when BSU won the Fiesta Bowl, the kid was probably learning how to write his own name. That's just mean. Maybe its just me, but doesn't the little horse on the side of the BSU football resemble the cartoon character Quick Draw McGraw. They paid $10,000.00 for the rights and creation of that logo.
Yes, I am a Vandal fan and am disappoint when they removed Vandals from the side of their helmets and replaced it with a big I. I do not like the I, go back to the Vandal logo. The horse logo is lame but the I is even worse.
Go Vandals! Why? Beacuse anybody can be a bronco fan! It takes one tough and loyal person to be a Vandal fan.
Being a Vandal fan is like rooting for the underdog.
I believe the Boston Redsox were an underdog for quite some time. You never saw those fans waiver.
And how about those Cubs.
Moral of the story. Our time will come...
I D A-H-O, Idaho, Idaho, Go! Go! GO!
Wow. Bond supporter used references to the Chicago Cubs when talking about the Idaho Vandals...that's just too funny!!! There's always next year eh, Vandal fans??? LOL.
There's ALWAYS next year when your a Vandal fan.
Go Akey!
