Beam me up, Scotty

Bush has been summoning ALL senators and congressmen to get their butts back to Washington and do something about this bailout deal.
Knowing he is a senator first, candidate second, McCain responded immediately, even if it meant postponing Friday's debate. Obama initially did NOT want to postpone, but fearing it might make him look like his campaign was more important to him than his country's need, he changed his mind and went along as well. He balked at first.
I've never made any bones about my dislike for John McCain, but I'll give him THIS much............when crap happened and he was needed, McCain didn't forget that while he's running for President, he is still being paid as a senator, and is expected to do his job. Without hesitation, he basically told Bush, "I'm on the way.".......Obama's take on it was more like...."Well, if I have to, maybe I'd better."
Obama doesn't know what his job as a senator even IS. He hasn't been one long enough, and is preceded by a history of "present" votes.
I firmly believe that had John McCain NOT responded to the congressional panic, Obama would not have, either. He just doesn't want to appear to be the "It's all about ME" jerk that he actually is.
If he can't take his job as a SENATOR more seriously than this, how can ANYBODY in their right mind want to put him in the White House?
He doesn't respect American customs and traditions.
He doesn't respect our Constitution.
129 times in Illinois, he couldn't make a decision.
The FIRST major crisis he's involved in as a U.S. Senator, he has to be PRODDED into going back to Washington to do what he's being PAID to do.
ExIntern..........I KNOW you're out there..........tell me, and tell the rest of the people on this blog WHY.....WHY you Dems continue to worship this loser.
If he wins (God help us all), WHAT is he going to do if something MILITARILY happens? What's he going to do, put on his best suit, stand up smiling and say "Present?"
This guy is an empty suit, who couldn't find water if he fell out of a boat, yet HALF of this country wants to make him the Commander-in-Chief.
Incredible............"Beam me up, Scotty.......there's no intelligent life down here!"........(about 50 percent, anyway). Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Please beam me up . . . because you just bought the Brooklyn Bridge and your regurgitating the talking points.
I guess maybe we'll find out more tonight when the debate happens . . . if McCain decides to show up.
McCain said he would only show up if the bailout agreement has happened. Just heard a few moments ago that McCain has now decided to show up at the debate . . . oh yeah . . . and there hasn't been an agreement yet . . . oh yeah . . . and that's after McCain said that the fundamentals of the economy were strong . . . oh yeah . . . and the next day he said we were in a crisis and we needed to do whatever was needed for the bailout . . . and then the day after that he changed his mind about the bailout . . . oh yeah.
Question . . . Does McCain even know what he thinks?
RALPH NADER knows more than that knucklehead of YOURS does.
I am highly anticipating that debate tonight. It would not surprise me to know that Obama's team, working with their liberal friends in the media, probably already HAVE the questions that are going to be asked. Even if so, doesn't matter.
As we speak, he's probably standing in the mirror, trying to look presidential while rehearsing his answers.
What I particularly want to see, is what he's gonna do, if they are allowed to fire at EACH OTHER from time to time. He won't know what McCain might bring up, and his "spin doctors" won't be allowed on stage to whisper in his ear, "what to say."
Then we'll see what YOUR candidate thinks. Of course, he can always play it safe and say "Present." He knows how to do THAT.
Likewise, McCain won't know what Obama might ask, but he's been a senator long enough, "Been there, done that, voted on that" to handle anything he's asked, and I'm sure he will.
As always, I am NOT a McCain fan............but Obama?............No way. It ought to be interesting tonight.
This debate is a joke. If we cannot do better than these 2 people to run our nation, we are in big trouble. We should worry more about "home" than what is going on in other places. If we cannot take care of our own, why in the hell are we attempting to take care of people that HATE us and do not mind how they live? Rebuild America before it is too late. Very depressing night.
It IS a joke. I don't like this McCain/Obama thing, and never have. As you probably remember, I was a RON PAUL supporter to begin with.
Not having their butts kicked enough yet, voters in this country CONTINUE to be Democrats and Republicans. They continue to put Party ahead of Country, and thus...... we once agin have "dumb and dumber" in November.
From my viewpoint, Obama DID handle himself a tad better than I thought he would, but the difference in experience was obvious. McCain knows a LOT more but, but then he SHOULD, seeing as how long he's been in there mixing it up in many issues Obama has only read about in HIS short tenure.
The only area I agreed with Obama, was the war. This shouldn't surprise any blog readers out there, because LONG BEFORE the debates, I have said repeatedly this Iraq fiasco was just another Vietnam. We should have got Bin Laden at the outset, even if it meant NUKING every mountain range in Afghanistan. I would never have put ONE soldier or Marine on the ground.
McCain meant well last night when he told the story of his bracelet from the mother of a soldier who didn't want her son's death to be in vain.
Well, sorry to say, but this Iraq thing has been ENTIRELY in vain. We have 58,000 names on a wall in MY war, that shouldn't be there...and IT was for nothing as well.
And if we "win" this, what have we won? The prepetrators of 9/11 are still running free, it won't be long after we leave (if we ever do), that the ragheads back there will start butchering each other again as they have for centuries, and if I know our government........we'll REBUILD Iraq for them, better than they could have done it for themselves.
Obama's side isn't so sqeuaky clean on Iraq either, though. His side DID allow Bush to wage this war without their declaration...and they HAVE continued to give his money to keep it going, even borrowing from China.........you know, that isn't something you can do without congressional approval.
To his credit, Obama DID acknowledge Israel as being a solid ally, something VERY FEW liberals have figured out. Fact is, if it came down to a "street fight", I think we would find Israel to be our ONLY ally.
I was surprised that Mcain missed such a good opportunity to hammer him a few times. On one point, Obama griped about the cost of fuel.............had I been McCain, I'd have jumped right into his case and reminded Barack that it was HIS party that blocked the artic drilling 7 years ago. Man, I'd have jumped on that.
I also thought that Obama was very rude. When you're given adequate response time, you don't need to be interupting the other candidate while he's trying to make his point.
After the debate, I was a bit surprised at FIRST, that Sarah Palin declined a "post-debate" interview. Upon reflection, I think it was probably a good move. Like Obama, she hasn't yet acquired the experience and knowledge to be "teacher-grading" the "term paper."
Like Obama, she's not quite ready yet to lead this country, (which is why she's starting out in the number TWO slot).
What I think WOULD have been cute, though.....she COULD have agreed to come on briefly, and when asked what she thought of the debate, she could have flashed that beautiful smile, popped right up in true Obama fashion, and chirped out "Present!".............hey, it worked for HIM didn't it?
I think she's saving up some ammunition (pun INTENDED) for Biden, when THEY meet...........and THAT ought to be good, eh? Maybe?
Ron Paul. He's still the right guy for the job. Can't do anything about it now, so my political priority is going to be doing whatever I can to at least keep Obama from the White House, if we can.
Wow....I KNOW I didn't sleep too well last night. I just read my post, and there are 4 or 5 "typo's" in it. (I'm also in a hurry this morning and haven't had my coffee yet) I might have to run up to Boise theis morning, and I have to play music tonight, so I have a full day ahead, after I sign off this blog, which I'm doing right now. I'll check it again if there's time, when i get back from Boise this morning................later y'all.
