A Bag of Snakes

Reading the Statesman this morning, was not the way to start this day out. On the front page of Section II, is the Democratic Convention in Denver, and there is a list of "What to watch for.".....(oh yeah, I'll be sure to watch)>

Michelle Obama will be explaining some anti-American comments she made recently.

There will be a tribute to Ted Kennedy, the biggest peice of garbage in the Senate's history.

Socialist Nancy Pelosi will speak.

Jimmy Carter, who shares the basement with Bush as our 2 worst presidents will speak.

Slick Willie will speak.

What a bag of snakes, all in one place. Ringling Brothers could never top this one. I'm not even gonna watch the news for the next few days. If they take this country over.........................we're done. I'm telling you right now, we're done.

I have to give that little Muslim (you know, the one who's middle name is Hussein), a certain amount of credit, though.

He was smart enough to borrow a chapter right out of Slick Willie's Playbook when he chose his running mate. Like Bill Clinton, Obama also chose a running buddy who is worse than HE is. It's a pretty good safeguard against impeachment or assassination.

When Clinton was "impeached" for lying to Congress about the Monica thing, he was never removed from office (I always thought THAT was part of the impeachment process). But I don't think the Republicans pushed for removal because they knew we would then be stuck with Al Gore.

Joe Biden is a liberal's liberal. He has no business representing ANYBODY, but he is an EXCELLENT choice to be Obama's backup. As I said, when your number 2 is worse than YOU are, your job is pretty safe. Obama's no dummy, and you have to give him credit there.

I DID see a potential POSITIVE this week, though. McCain hasn't made his VP choice yet, but I understand that Colin Powell is now being considered. Powell is a good man and an honorable one, and with McCain's age and health in question, Powell would do a very good job for us if he had to take over.

Only one hitch here, though..........he probably wouldn't take the job, after the way he was side-stepped and ignored by the Bush administration. Colin resigned in frustration and I didn't blame him one bit.

I cannot stand John McCain, but I might...and the word is only "might", have to look at voting his way IF Colin Powell was on the ticket.

This is the sorriest, most insulting presidential election I've ever seen in my lifetime. God bless the USA??? No, God HELP the USA.

You know, I used to think the Democrats were twisted in their ways of thinking. Now I'm CONVINCED of it. They're showcasing a guy with little experience anywhere, a guy who's soaked up anti-American teachings for 20 years, a guy who's wife spews some of it as well, a guy with Muslim ties, terrorist associates, a guy who won't even respect our flag, a guy who took his oath of office with his hand on the KORAN..........and just seven years after the Twin Towers, the Democrats want to put this guy in the White House!!...........Can you even BEGIN to believe this?

There needs to be another "1776."..............Boy, does there EVER need to be another "1776."

I agree these are ugly times, but i have to call you out on at least one factual error here. Aside from you calling Obama a Muslim (he's a Christian), you said he took his oath of office with his hand on the Koran. That's just not true. Obama took his oath on a bible. You might be confusing him with Minnesota congressman Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to congress.

I too admire Powell very much indeed and agree with you that if he were the VP candidate my decision would be a lot easier. If he were the presidential candidate my doubting would be over completely.

But I can't sign off without arguing a little bit with you, Mike; it would be unnatural. I don't care very much for the others you mentioned but my feelings are not quite as negative.

And I won't vote for Obama but it's because I believe he doesn't have the capability to represent us in the world. But I haven't fallen for the vile email campaigns and misleading gossip about him.

Ya know Mike, when I first started reading your blogs awhile back I really enjoyed them. But you seem to be slipping and falling for all the propaganda that is out there and that seriously detracts from your credibility. I am no Obama supporter, nor am I a Democrat supporter, but even I know that the majority of the things you railed against him here have long since been proven false or misleading about him. Maybe you better do some homework on some of these things before just assuming them to be true.

I guess those photos of him turning away and looking down while everyone else had their hands over their hearts were superimposed.

Even the mainstream media has covered the anti-American remarks, and the "hand on the Koran" came from a lot of different news sources. No, I wasn't there personally, and neither was anyone in Mountain Home that I know of.

WHERE HE STANDS, WHAT HE HAS VOTED FOR AND SUPPORTED however..........IS a matter of public record, along with Biden's.

Hey, we can dilly-dally, tit-for-tat over this blog. We can alter quotation marks, cross T's and dot the I's, but if Obama gets in, everyone is going to see first hand, what I'm saying.

I have to believe that most people either don't know, or don't want to know, what all is at stake this next time around.

No, I don't base any decisions on propaganda, but I DO make it a point to check the voting records of these guys (both sides)....................and how they VOTE is how they THINK.

As for his patriotism? Unless they were retouched and overdubbed, I've seen the photos. As Jay Leno's guest one night, I heard him explain why he doesn't even wear an American flag on his lapel. No media propaganda here either, it was right from his own lips. He was talking about how America was a multi-cultural society and by not wearing a pin or even hand-over-the heart, he was representing EVERYONE. I ain't buying that, and again..........not from page 5 column C of the Statesman, but broadcast live on the Tonight Show, and ANYBODY who happened to watch the show that evening, heard the same thing I did, unless they were in the kitchen getting a beer.

If He and Biden manage to get their hands on the White House, with the Congress already controlled by the left................well, why go into it. We'll all just tune into the Sci-Fi channel, watch reruns of the Twilight Zone, and act like nothing happened, I suppose.

But you guys out there ARE right about me. I AM getting a little "ragged." I've seen the handwriting on the wall for years now, and with America being sold out already to the highest bidders, I AM getting wound-up a little as we keep moving closer to becoming a melting pot under the U.N. The borders wide open, China owns a fair piece of this nation, before too long we'll end up being a minority in our own country. All the while, they're finding more ways to tax us to support everybody else, and still more of these lying, smiling idiots "feeling our pain" and asking for our votes.

My wife asked me one time why I got so involved writing "letters to the editor" (both our town paper and the Statesman)......and this blog. I remember saying "I don't know, sweetheart.........I really don't."

Fair enough, i suppose, but again, the hand on the koran thing is just not true. You could look it up.

-- Posted by jasci on Mon, Aug 25, 2008, at 4:06 PM

Ok.....I'll give ya that one, because I didn't personally see it. The only thing I want to "look up" at this point though, is on January 20th. I want to be able to look up at the podium in D.C. and NOT see Obama up there taking the oath! (Actually, I don't want to see McCain up there either, but it looks like we're gonna get stuck with one or the other. With McCain though, there might be a LITTLE vasoline).

Opinion Missy.........Got your message last night. Called you back 3 or 4 times (didn't want to call after 10..............yeah, I'll go, if I knew where we were gonna meet.

Mike:

What do you think of Palin and McCain?

Hope you got a lot of info today. Sorry I missed your call but I am glad it worked out. Hope you will call and tell me about it. Being ill has made the last few days interesting, and not for the better. I will make the trip at a later date but soon. Take care.
