The Empty Suit

As most of you know, I'm not supporting either Presidential candidate, and will "waste" my vote on whoever the best Independent turns out to be, so my conscience will not be bothering me later.

A curious thing to me, is that even among DEMOCRATS, no one in that party seems to have sense enough to ask about their own candidate's qualifications.

All we hear through the media, is Obama's personality, his dreams and aspirations, his flashing smile, congeneality, ability to inspire, etc, etc, etc.

Can anybody...........yes, ANYBODY...........tell me what the heck he has done in the short time he's been a Senator? Has he introduced any bills or pieces of legislation that might amount to anything? It's my understanding that he doesn't even have a good attendance record on Capitol Hill.

Hey...........we're talking about a man who wants the NUMBER ONE SEAT in America. The guy with his fingers on the buttons. I just want to know what he's done as a junior Senator, that would qualify him for the Presidency.

In a recent letter to the Statesman, I said openly, that "just because a guy can bag groceries at Albertson's, doesn't mean he can run Wal-Mart!"

The world is too chaotic today, and there are too many factions out there wanting to take us down, for our White House to be managed on charm and personality.

A lot has been said of his Muslim ties and his disrespect for our flag.............maybe no, maybe so..........I'm not inside his head, I don't know how he thinks. But I'd sure like to know what he's DONE (in the Senate anyway), that would make me feel less uneasy about him sitting next to the Red Phone in the Oval Office.

Obama has a horrible record on gun rights, and like McCain, he also favors amnesty for illegals (prime reasons I'm not voting for either of them), but if Obama has introduced any GOOD bills or bits of legislature, I'd sure like to know what they are. All we ever hear from the mainstream media however...and from his fanatic supporters, are his visions, ability to inspire and unite...........well, ok..........He presents himself well, appeals to people, says the right things at the right times..........

So did Jimmy Carter, Slick Willie and both Bushes.

I just want some Obama supporter out there to look beyond the makeup mirror, the bright lights and hype, and explain to my readers and I why we should go to the polls and give him control of the country...............based upon WHAT Senatorial accomplishments?

Folks, if you were having a kidney transplant, who would you pick to do the surgery, an intern with an award-winning smile and warm bedside manner............or an accomplished surgeon who's already done a couple of dozen?

In my book, Obama might make an ok nextdoor neighbor, but that doesn't mean I would trust him with the keys to the house.

I ALREADY don't trust McCain.............but I KNOW McCain for what he is. I don't know Obama, and neither do most of his supporters, from the look of things.

Most politicians will say ANYTHING to get elected, but only through their own voting record in Congress, do we actually know where they stand on the issues.

So Barack...........don't tell us how you feel, what you hope, what your visions are................(we ALL have dreams and ideas).........show us what you have done with the FIRST couple of years you've been given in Washington D.C.

And people...........be informed. KNOW where all of them stand (including Independents), before you vote. After January 20th, it'll be too late.
